"This... this is all the headquarters' orders; we are just following orders," the young man said directly, understanding his current situation.
"Headquarters' orders?" Hearing his response, Freya straightened up, deep in thought.
In this world, no one who could become a wizard was a fool, and since the upper echelons of the Blue Eagle Nest made this decision, they certainly wouldn't joke with the future of their organization.
"When did you receive such a kidnapping order? Also, besides you, do you know if any other Wizard Organizations in Katia City have taken any action?" After thinking for a moment, Freya continued to ask.
"This order has been received gradually over the past six months. As for other organizations... I don't know."
"Six months ago?"
Freya recalled that six months ago was around the time Saradin's experiment failed and he suffered from its aftereffects. Although the timing was similar, she clearly felt that it could only be considered a coincidence. She vaguely sensed some conspiracy against Elgreen Academy.
"I've told you everything I know; can you let me go now?" The young man asked as he watched the girl deep in thought.
He knew that while some mercenaries would carry out assassination missions, they generally preferred not to make enemies with Wizard Organizations. After all, no matter how incompetent a large Wizard Organization might be, it would still have wizards proficient in curses from the Necromancy Department and Shadow System. At that point, one wouldn't even know how they died.
From the strength of this girl before him, it seemed likely that she was a skilled fighter hired by Elgreen to deal with them.
'As long as I return to the organization and check through the Spell for details, no matter who you are, I won't let you off easily!'
Although he thought this in his heart, he currently lacked the ability to escape completely from a Great Knight's grasp, so he needed to endure for now.
"You?" Freya looked down at the young man and narrowed her eyes slightly.
Although this person before her had lost his combat ability after a single strike from Freya, it did not mean he was too weak. The numerous items on him suggested that he might hold a leadership position within Katia's Blue Eagle Division.
The Blue Eagle Nest had always been at odds with Elgreen's base...
With this thought in mind, Freya raised the dagger in her hand without hesitation.
A flash of silver passed. A long, thin line of blood suddenly appeared on the young man's neck, accompanied by a faint hissing sound.
His incredulous gaze froze in place.
Feeling the life energy slowly fading from him, Freya expressionlessly began to search his body.
A white pouch was quickly found. Then she pulled out a Black Crystal Necklace and an envelope from his close-fitting clothing.
Next, she walked over to the Black Carriage and searched the two middle-aged apprentices, clearing them of all valuable items.
Looking at the things in her hands, Freya walked over to the corpse slumped against the wall and kicked it onto the carriage.
With a light flick of her finger, a Purple Flame shot towards the carriage. Thick black smoke quickly billowed from it.
After doing all this, Freya glanced around; the road that had previously held some carriages was now deserted. It seemed these three had cleared the area before attempting to ambush her.
The Ashfire flames were slowly rising, destroying all traces of her presence, while the charred smell of burnt flesh wafted out from within.
Not paying attention to what was happening behind her, Freya turned and walked towards the villa at the base.
These items would likely be dealt with by the city guard soon, but when it came to the infighting among the Wizard Organization, these people wouldn't dare to intervene.
Through this battle, she realized the vast gap between herself and the Second-Class Apprentice. Even without spells, under the overwhelming power of a Great Knight, these individuals were no different from ordinary people to her.
Without the protective Force Field, at her speed, they simply couldn't react in time.
However, this made her pay more attention to defensive spells.
Wizards are powerful but also very vulnerable. Once in close quarters, facing danger without any protection is absolutely lethal.
Although she was a Great Knight, she could still suffer serious harm from some extremely powerful spells.
Thinking about things that would be beneficial to her, Freya stepped through the door of Elglen's Villa.
She had no intention of informing anyone about what had happened outside; instead, she returned to her room as usual.
After all, although the three were killed for kidnapping Freya, as long as she remained silent, no one would guess that she had killed three Second-Class Apprentices. Even the Blue Eagle Nest would not pay special attention to her because of this.
Sitting down at the table in her room, Freya first placed the items she had bought at the apothecary aside before sorting through the things she had taken from the three individuals.
Aside from a few commonly used spellcasting materials, the three waist pouches contained only about ten gold coins. However, Freya found a white ring and a broken gemstone in the young man's pouch. Judging by the runes engraved on the inside of the ring, it was an ordinary Communication Ring that anyone could use. After playing with it for a moment, Freya crushed it without hesitation.
The broken gemstone was just an ordinary sapphire; although it might be valuable, it held no special significance for Freya.
After finishing with the three pouches, Freya took out two other items she had found on the young man.
One was a Black Crystal Necklace that clearly emanated an aura of energy, and the other was an unknown envelope.
Gently stroking the necklace, the Black Crystal embedded within occasionally flashed with golden runes and magical circles. Feeling the faint aura of isolation emanating from it, it seemed that this necklace was the reason why Freya could not discern the strength of the person earlier.
Although she did not yet know the incantation used for this necklace, it was worth noting that Freya had some understanding of the creation of Cursed Items in the Enchantment Department. Analyzing a Cursed Item did not take much time.
This necklace could be considered Freya's greatest gain so far.
She carefully placed the necklace into her waist pouch before finally opening the last envelope.
Inside the envelope were only two tattered pieces of parchment, which Freya held gently in her hands.
However, as she looked at the two sheets, her brows furrowed tightly.
"This is... a map!?"
The crooked lines were somewhat blurry in places and had gaps in others, but she could still compare them to data she had seen before and identify similarities. (To be continued)
