She plucked a leaf from the top and crushed it in her hand, immediately releasing a sour and pungent odor. 0

"Is this really Bamboo Grass?" Freya's eyes lit up slightly as she sniffed the foul smell. 0

Although Bamboo Grass was just an ordinary Negative Energy Magical Plant, its presence in this barren place was clearly unusual. Moreover, they were not far from the area where Magical Plants could be harvested. This might very well be the entrance to a secret realm. 0

It seemed that the smell of the Bamboo Grass had awakened the drowsy stall owner. He covered his nose, frowned, and opened his eyes. Upon seeing a young girl squatting in front of his stall, he immediately perked up. 0

"Miss, what do you need? Most of the herbs here were picked just this afternoon; they're absolutely fresh. I guarantee you'll see results with just one application. Look at this..." His practiced words flowed out, clearly something he said to everyone. 0

Freya waved her hand to interrupt him, placing the Bamboo Grass in front of his eyes. She smiled gently and spoke slowly. 0

"Boss, where did this come from? Tell me." 0

The old man, under Freya's gaze, suddenly appeared dazed, as if he were captivated by her bright blue eyes. His speech became somewhat sluggish. 0

"This is... something I bought from... Gerard Town..." 0

"Which person specifically from Gerard Town? Tell me... I'll give you a proper reward." Her tone was soothing, with a hint of temptation. 0

"It was... Tom..." 0

"Alright, thank you. Here’s your reward." Noticing his dazed eyes that seemed ready to close, Freya tossed a Silver Coin from her pouch into the old man's hand. 0

"Uh..." The old man stared blankly at the Silver Coin in his hand, as if just coming back to reality. He looked at Freya's departing figure and scratched his head, somewhat confused about the situation. 0

Not paying attention to what was happening behind her, Freya toyed with the Bamboo Grass in her hand, a slight smile playing on her lips. 0

Freya drove the horses forward with a blank expression. 0

About ten minutes later, on the narrow path, a white carriage without horses was parked by the roadside. The carriage showed clear signs of being slashed, and there were many scattered traces and blood in the ditch beside the road, clearly linked to the swift horse from earlier. 0

Not far from the carriage, in the woods, Freya could faintly smell the scent of blood, estimating that it was likely the place where bodies were discarded. 0

However, this was a forest, and it wouldn't be long before wild wolves or dogs came to clean up. 0

Freya merely glanced at it briefly before driving away in her carriage. 0

Three hours later, Freya's carriage appeared in a village within Colt Forest. 0

A tall fence made of thick black timber surrounded the village. As Freya passed through the entrance of this fence, the noisy sounds of vendors reached her ears. 0

Looking around, she saw stalls selling animal bones, meat, skins, and furs everywhere. People dressed in various outfits were walking among them, selecting items. 0

"This seems to be a trading village for hunters..." Freya speculated as she observed the bustling scene. 0

Although the village looked somewhat chaotic, there was still an underlying order; most of the better stalls were located at the entrance of the village, with others arranged in increasing order further inside. 0

However, none of this was what Freya needed. After taking a glance, she led her carriage to a designated area for parking and settled down. 0

As she skillfully navigated through these stalls, Freya initially planned to quickly find an inn to stay in this village. However, when she reached the last stall, a faint aroma wafted from it, catching her attention. 0

"Huh?" Turning her head, Freya looked toward that stall. It wasn't selling game but rather common herbs. The stall owner was a frail old man with graying hair, leaning against a wooden stump with his eyes half-closed in a feigned nap. 0

Freya approached the stall, crouched down, and gently rummaged through the herbs displayed. Soon she found a black branch resembling bamboo among them. 0

"I didn't expect to find reliable clues as soon as I arrived here. It seems my luck isn't that bad." 0

In Gerard Town, she had already gathered information about the town while at Elglen's Villa. With a population of no more than two hundred, finding someone named Tom would be quite easy. 0

After locating the only inn in the village and resting for a night, Freya set off early the next morning. 0

Traveling by carriage, Freya reached Gerard Town by around two or three in the afternoon. 0

Gerard Town was still located within Colt Forest, but compared to the shabby village from yesterday, this town was much better in both scale and style. 0

The entrance was marked by walls made of stone bricks, and beneath her feet was a road paved with gravel. Freya led her carriage along the streets of the town. 0

The houses on either side were wooden, and a few particularly unique buildings had signs that seemed to indicate they were shops. 0

However, it appeared that the town's residents were absent at this time; Freya encountered very few people along her way, making it feel quite empty. 0

Continuing down the street, Freya soon arrived at a building marked as an inn and stopped in front of it. 0

This building was the only three-story structure in the entire town and had been painted a light yellow. 0

The door was open, so Freya led her carriage to a nearby stable beside the house before entering the inn. 0

Inside the dimly lit room were several simple square tables, but the stools were turned upside down on top of them, giving off an impression that they hadn't been used in a long time. 0

Freya extended her finger and lightly brushed away some white dust from the table. Frowning slightly, she looked around and called out loudly. 0

"Is anyone there? Is anyone here?" 0

"Someone! Someone is here!" 0

Soon, footsteps came from the back door of the room. A plump woman dressed in gray linen walked in, glanced at Freya, and then smiled. 0

"I am the Boss of this establishment. Are you looking for a place to stay or to eat?" 0

"Accommodation." 0

"Oh, for lodging, it's four copper coins per night. How many nights would you like to stay?" 0

"How many?" Freya thought for a moment and handed over a gold coin. "Let's start with ten nights. This is the payment, and the rest will cover meals and horses..." 0

Upon receiving the gold coin, the woman immediately beamed with joy, her tone becoming very enthusiastic. 0

"Of course! Of course! I will treat you to the best food in our town!" 0

"Alright." Freya nodded and then asked the woman, "Boss, do you know where I can find someone named Tom in your town?" (To be continued) 0
