"Are you an Abyssal Creature?" 0

Listening to the words of the Big Mouth, Freya did not use her mental power to restrain it this time, but instead frowned and asked. 0

"I cannot answer that question," the Big Mouth replied, sparks flying from its mouth. "My current task is simply to follow the contract between you and Lord Hegel, and to inform you of the hidden information inside when you become a new life form." 0

"Is that so?" Freya looked at the strange Big Mouth with confusion. After a long moment, she nodded. "Alright, go ahead." 0

As far as she knew, the Abyss Contract was something only wizards who had come into contact with the Abyss World were qualified to possess. Generally, an Abyss Contract was merely a magical paper infused with abyssal energy. Although it had binding power, it did not belong to any life form; it represented only an arcane will. If the contract was violated, one would face punishment from that will. 0

However, the Abyss Contract she signed with Hegel was clearly not of a general nature. The way the Big Mouth behaved suggested it had its own thoughts. 0

This was entirely a symbol of a living being. Freya remained curious about the mysterious Abyss World and its creatures, especially since she knew that Abyssal Language was one of the incantation languages. 0

The Big Mouth seemed to notice Freya's curious gaze and created some distance in the air before continuing. 0

"According to the terms of the contract, the information you are to receive is as follows:" 0

With a puff, the Big Mouth suddenly spat out a pale, spark-emitting eye the size of a human head. The eye bore the special blood-red slit pupils of an Abyssal Creature and immediately fixed its gaze on Freya. 0

"Ahem, let's begin." After flying around in the air for a moment, the Big Mouth landed on the eye. 0

Suddenly, a gray light projected from those blood-red slit pupils, forming a blurry silhouette in front of Freya. 0

However, that blurry silhouette quickly became clear. 0

It was a thin man dressed in a black robe, bald with a grotesque centipede tattooed from his crown down to his cheek. His skin was pale and his eye sockets were sunken, giving off an eerie vibe. 0

"His name is Frank Standby. Thirty years ago, he was a First-Level Wizard in the Necromancy Department. Forty years ago, he worked as a Hunter in the Twin Serpent Society. He later left after failing a hunting mission and came to Aelgreen Wizard Academy as an Undead Anatomy instructor. Five years later, he went missing due to involvement in an incident related to the Taboli Family's conspiracy. The last sighting of him was in a mountain house in Raymond City." 0

“Taboli Family?” Listening to the information from Big Mouth, Freya suddenly remembered that Hegel's surname was Taboli. 0

If calculated by this timeline, thirty-five years ago at Elgreen Academy, there was a family named Taboli among the many family alliances in the academy. However, due to certain conspiracies, this family gradually declined and eventually disappeared. 0

The image lasted only a few seconds before vanishing. 0

Freya frowned slightly, lost in thought. This man clearly had a deep-seated grudge against Hegel, otherwise Hegel wouldn't have made this deal with her. 0

As for the conspiracy surrounding the Taboli Family, Freya did not intend to delve deeper. All she needed to do was find this person and kill him, providing Hegel with an answer. 0

‘If this is a conspiracy event, then the academy must have contingency plans for the people involved. However, obtaining this information requires qualifications, which I currently lack.’ 0

Just as Freya pondered where to start looking, the floating Big Mouth swallowed its eyeball again and directly addressed Freya. 0

“Alright, I have transmitted the information. The time for the mission is unlimited, and the reward is kept with me. If you kill this person, please smear his blood on the contract with your name. I will grant the reward based on your soul. Until we meet again.” 0

Before she could respond, Big Mouth suddenly ignited in flames, and a piece of parchment slowly floated down from the fire, which Freya reached out to catch. 0

The text on the contract had changed; in the center was an image of a Bald Man in Black Robe, and at the bottom was an additional gray eye symbol, resembling the eye from earlier. 0

After glancing at it briefly, Freya rolled up the contract again, tied it with a red string, and placed it back in the box. 0

Regarding what Hegel had instructed her to do, she knew she couldn't complete it right now. Besides stabilizing her physical and mental state, she also needed to gather some information about that person. 0

A formal Necromancer over thirty years ago who had also served as a Hunter, his strength was evidently not that of an ordinary wizard; this required careful planning. 0

In addition to this contract, there was also that seemingly ordinary White Mask. Since being promoted to Official Wizard, Freya could clearly sense the shadow energy within it. 0

It seems to be a very high-level Cursed Item. Just by the faint energy it emits, Freya could vaguely analyze that this is a Shadow System Summon-type Cursed Item. 0

If it were to be activated now, who knows what might appear. 0

After some thought, she decided to wait until she found the Bald Wizard before tampering with this item. 0

Instead of putting the box back in the drawer, she placed it in her black suitcase. 0

She changed out of her nightgown and into a Robe, then took another look around her long-time dormitory before slamming the door shut and heading toward the Academy Library. 0

The slightly larger gray Apprentice Robe now fit her perfectly. 0

Although she still looked like an apprentice, her unhidden Mental Field had already revealed her identity as an Official Wizard. 0

This radiation-like Mental Field inherently possessed a weakened mental pollution effect. While it didn't significantly affect the apprentices who had already encountered wizards, it was enough for those passing by to understand Freya's identity, prompting them to cast respectful glances in her direction. 0

Not paying attention to their attitudes, Freya proceeded directly to the library according to her plan. 0

The library's main entrance was open twenty-four hours. After handing a Magic Stone to the gatekeeper at the entrance, Freya entered the first floor of the library. 0

Red bookshelves filled the entire floor, and everywhere were apprentices in Gray Robes studying diligently, representing every level. 0

However, after just a glance, Freya headed for the stairs to the second floor. 0

The first floor was reserved for the lowest-level apprentices, while only Official Wizards could access the upper floors. 0

At the entrance of the stairs, Freya clearly sensed a faint energy aura. This was a low-level barrier formation, but for Freya now, it posed no restrictions. 0

After a moment's pause, Freya walked straight ahead. 0

The subtle energy sensation swept from head to toe, and then there was no further feeling. 0

The second floor of the library had significantly fewer bookshelves compared to the first floor, and the place felt somewhat deserted, with only four or five individuals dressed in black robes, who were Official Wizards. 0

These individuals merely glanced curiously at Freya, who was wearing a Gray Robe, before returning to their books. 0

There were many apprentices at Elgreen Academy, and every year a few apprentices would be promoted to Official Wizard, which was not particularly remarkable. 0

After briefly scanning the various nameplates on the shelves, Freya headed towards an area labeled 'Basic Knowledge.' 0

This area contained three large bookshelves filled densely with various knowledge related to Newly Advanced Wizards. 0

Freya quickly glanced over and pulled out a thin booklet from the middle shelf to read. 0

The booklet was quite thin, only a few pages long, but its content made Freya ponder. 0

From what she read, she learned that the ranks of wizards are divided into levels one through nine. 0

The lowest rank, First-Level Wizard, is further detailed into three categories: Vaporization, Liquefaction, and Crystallization of mental power. Each step forward represents a qualitative difference and corresponds to an elevation in life level. 0

To enhance one's own level, the only path is to gradually accumulate knowledge and mental power; this is the most fundamental method for refining both soul and body—there are no shortcuts. 0

The corresponding wizard levels relate to the levels of spells released; that is, once you can cast a First-Level Spell and your mental power meets the standard, you become a First-Level Wizard, and so forth. 0

However, Freya discovered that although the booklet indicated there were nine levels, only the first three were detailed. The remaining levels had little commentary, merely stating that after reaching the Fourth-Level Wizard, one could survive in a soul form even if their body was destroyed. 0

"It seems that Level Four is indeed a watershed for all wizards. However, theoretically, some lower-level Necromancers can also achieve survival in soul form after their bodies are destroyed," she murmured. 0

Having once worked as a Necromancy Instructor, she was aware of some knowledge from the Necromancy Department. She knew of a spell that allowed one to exist temporarily in soul form, but this spell had significant drawbacks. First, it required finding a body compatible with one's soul within a certain timeframe. Second, the resurrected individual would enter a prolonged period of weakness, almost indistinguishable from an ordinary person. 0

After finishing the thin booklet, she took out another book on the basic casting knowledge for Newly Advanced Wizards and began to study it carefully. 0

Her time at the academy was short; she needed to absorb as much knowledge as possible during this period. Otherwise, once she left, she wouldn't know how many opportunities she would have to see these things again. 0

Later. 0

Dark yellow clouds loomed over the academy, and with no wind in sight, it seemed like rain could fall at any moment. 0

Freya, who had been immersed in life at the library for days, finally stepped outside in the evening. 0

During her time there, she had quickly gone through the Basic Knowledge of Newly Advanced Wizards and thoroughly understood her position. 0
