Although her current identity belongs to the Official Wizard, she is merely the lowest rank, not even having reached the mental power level of Vaporization.
Both her reserve of Spells and her knowledge of Official Wizards are severely lacking.
In terms of strength, she is only slightly stronger than that wizard from Hurricane Fortress who was framed back then.
Even though she has only been in the basic area of the library, she has roughly understood that most subjects at Elgreen Academy do not apply to her.
Looking up at the dim sky, Freya walked calmly along the academy's path.
She had no reservations in telling Rand about her successful advancement and returned Klein's Core, but she still needed some time regarding escorting Lani.
Although Hegel's mission had no deadline, she did not want to delay it any further.
Freya had a feeling about Cloud City; once she got there, it would be difficult to return.
That place is a gathering spot for White Wizards and is rich in knowledge and resources, where every wizard exists to pursue truth and elevate their own life level.
Even if Freya returns, it is likely to be many years later.
In the Trading Hall, with the end of the war, it had become crowded again.
Freya passed through numerous Shops and arrived at Lisa's Spell Model store.
At this time, three young apprentices in Gray Robes were frowning as they carefully selected a pile of Basic Knowledge from the Positive Energy System. Each held a clever black bag, but from their appearance, the number of Magic Stones inside was not very much.
The person selling this knowledge was not present.
After glancing lightly at what they were selecting, Freya directly bypassed the three and approached the counter.
Perhaps too focused, the three initially did not notice the Mental Field that Freya brought with her. It was only when Freya stood beside them that an unusual sensation made them shiver simultaneously and look up.
When they saw Freya standing nearby, the three of them immediately showed a respectful expression and lowered their heads slightly, stepping back.
The close proximity to the Official Wizard and the Mental Field caused these three, who were at most Second-Class Apprentices, to feel a slight dizziness. After stepping back a bit further, they cautiously left.
Before the counter, a young apprentice walked out from the room inside without having had the chance to look at the catalog on the bookshelf behind.
"What do you need, my lord?" It was still the same apprentice. However, when he saw Freya's face, he was momentarily taken aback, seemingly recognizing her as the apprentice who had purchased a First-Class Defensive Spell not long ago.
Ignoring his unusual expression, Freya spoke directly.
"Bring me your catalog of First-Class Wind Elemental Spells and Plant Energy Models."
"Oh, yes, my lord." Upon hearing Freya's words, the young man immediately withdrew his hidden gaze and respectfully handed her two booklets with azure covers.
After casually flipping through the contents of the booklets, Freya gently closed them after a while.
"As expected, once it involves Official Wizards' Spell Basic Models, there aren't many high-level ones. Besides one Wind Cutter Technique that belongs to a medium-level offensive Spell, the rest are all low-level supportive types."
After thinking for a moment, she said in a calm voice.
"Give me one of each Model in here. Also, do you have any advanced knowledge from the Enchantment Department? If so, bring that too."
Five minutes later, Freya walked out of the shop carrying a black leather case.
This large purchase had reduced her originally substantial assets to just one-fifth of their value.
The academy's regulations regarding Spell Models and advanced knowledge were very strict; only wizards who signed Contracts had the right to purchase them, while others could only choose lower-tier items.
However, although most of what Freya purchased were supportive Spell Models, she intended to enrich her own Empowerment Spells with them.
The advantages of Force Field-type Spells include controlling the Energy Particles of that Spell within a certain range to form various shapes. They also provide significant enhancements to other types of Spells.
As far as she knew, most wizards who specialized in Wind Element magic were not solely supportive; they were also quite skilled at killing.
Two hours later, the gloomy sky was drizzling.
In front of the Black Iron Gate of Aelgreen Wizard Academy.
A pitch-black carriage stood there.
Beside the carriage were two young people, each wearing black and white robes.
Although the rain was heavy, it strangely avoided falling directly on their heads.
This was a special technique utilizing Energy Particles, but it also belonged to the abilities of an Official Wizard.
Rand looked at the girl in front of him, who seemed to have grown quite a bit, with a smile on his lips.
"I didn't expect that the side effect of your promotion to Official Wizard would be this. Truly..."
"Ahem, this is only temporary! I estimate that I will return to normal next month," Freya interrupted, not listening to Rand's next words.
"Oh, that's really a pity. However, you are still not yet eighteen in real years, right?" Rand suddenly asked.
"Yeah, I still have three months until I turn eighteen. Why do you ask?"
"Nothing much, I just think your potential is great. You will likely go further than I have," Rand said with a hint of nostalgia in his tone.
Hearing his tone, Freya frowned slightly, as if she felt she had overlooked something. Looking at the still youthful Rand, she asked,
"What do you mean? Weren't you eighteen when you were promoted to Official Wizard?"
"Hehe, that age limit only applies to pure-blooded humans; it doesn't work for us," Rand paused before continuing. "I just turned thirty last month."
Freya sized up Rand, who had a smile on his face; he certainly didn't look like he was thirty years old.
Suddenly, Freya thought of something and asked uncertainly, "You mean... you are also..."
"Yes, like Aishebun or most of the family members, I have a bit of other non-human Bloodline in me, but my mark is less pronounced and not very pure." He slightly pulled back the collar of his shirt to reveal a small, dense feather the size of a fingernail. "But you are different; you are a pure human. Your next generation has a high chance of possessing wizarding potential, which is a rare 'resource' for any family or organization."
"Resource?" Upon hearing this term, Freya frowned slightly, seeming to grasp the essence of these noble families' heritage, but she was puzzled by Rand's statement.
"What does that mean?"
"I mean, be careful and don't expose yourself too much; otherwise, the consequences could be severe," Rand said casually.
Freya looked at him speechlessly, her tone slightly cold. "I don't need to worry about that; I'll be careful."
From his kind reminder, she could easily imagine what would happen if she were caught by some particularly twisted individuals.
Of course, this was also a hidden danger that Freya had not been paying attention to.
"Well, that's good." Sensing the coldness in Freya's eyes, Rand raised his hand helplessly. "Aside from that, there's nothing else to worry about. So, where do you plan to go now? When will you come back to pick up Lani?"
"I'm planning to go to Raymond City. If all goes well, I should be back in about three months; if not, you won't have to wait for me!" Freya replied lightly.
"Raymond City? I remember it's an ordinary city for humans; there aren't many Official Wizards there. Besides an ancient ruin that's been abandoned for who knows how long, there's nothing special about it. What do you want to do there?" Rand asked after thinking for a moment.
"I'm going to kill someone," Freya said coldly, not deliberately hiding anything from Rand, as their relationship was theoretically one of alliance.
"Not just anyone," Rand said seriously as he looked at Freya's expression. "Although I'm currently tied up, I can still borrow some power from my family. What kind of help do you need?"
"Hmm," Freya thought for a moment and then looked up. "Do you know about the Taboli conspiracy case from over thirty years ago? I need to find someone."
"Taboli" Hearing this surname made Rand frown slightly in uncertainty. "I think I know something about it; it was a significant frame-up case. There were so many mid-level and senior officials involved that the case has been buried since then, and not many people know about it. Who are you looking for?"
"It's an Official Wizard from the Necromancy Department, named Frank Standby. He used to be an Anatomy instructor; do you know him?" Freya asked with concern.
"I don't know him." Without hesitation, Rand replied. "He was probably involved in that case, but there should be records on file. I'll check for you when I get back."
Initially not expecting much hope, Freya was surprised that Rand might actually have a lead.
"Thank you."
"Hehe, helping you is helping myself, right?" Rand said calmly. "Just don't forget about Lani; you're the best candidate for the escort."
"Of course I won't," Freya smiled. "Well, I've talked enough. I should leave now, or I'll be expelled."
"Yes! Stay safe on the road. If things go wrong, preserving your life is key," Rand replied with a smile.
"Got it, I'll remember."
With that, she walked directly to the carriage, climbed into her seat, waved at Rand, and pulled the reins as the carriage began to move slowly forward.
Watching the carriage gradually disappear into the rain, Rand's smile faded as he tightened the collar of his black robe. He gently raised his index finger, and a Black Sunflower mark suddenly appeared.
"Black Serpent, how's it going? Has the rat been dealt with? I don't want my friends to have even a hint of trouble." (To be continued)
