Chapter 216:
Occasionally, small white birds flitted through the buildings.
The immense difference in size left Freya immersed in a strong visual shock, to the point where she somewhat lost track of time.
The appearance of the Sky Leviathan was very brief; after unleashing a torrential downpour, it quickly vanished into the thick, dark clouds.
Eventually, it completely disappeared from her sight.
After a long while, a gentle breeze roused Freya from her stunned state.
With a somewhat dazed gaze at the dark green forest, she instinctively touched her chest.
Her heart was racing rapidly due to her heightened emotions, stronger than any dangerous battle she had faced before.
"What was that? Could this also be the work of the wizards?"
The murmured question was only audible to herself.
Glancing back at Lani, who was fast asleep in the carriage, Freya's eyes revealed a wild thirst for knowledge.
"Go!"
She grasped the reins and gave them a fierce flick, causing the originally leisurely black steed to break into a run.
Five Hours.
The originally clear sky turned somewhat gloomy upon entering the Emerald Forest.
It seemed as if rain was about to fall at any moment.
On a winding yellow path, Freya's carriage moved slowly forward.
From a distance in the forest, the occasional sound of wild beasts filled the tranquil woods with vitality.
At this moment, Freya, sitting in the carriage, was engraving complex runes onto a Black Dagger with a red carving knife.
Next to her was a Sphere-shaped vessel filled with layers of gelatinous Light Blue Liquid.
As the carriage jolted, the liquid rippled with a faint glow.
The runes on the dagger were nearing completion when, just as she finished the last stroke, the entire dagger suddenly trembled.
An unusual wave of energy radiated from it.
Sensing the vibrations, Freya immediately opened the nearby Sphere vessel and poured the liquid onto the dagger.
The gelatinous liquid seemed to possess a will of its own, automatically wrapping around the dagger upon contact.
Freya calmly watched as the Black Dagger transformed completely into a deep blue color.
Once it was fully covered, she suddenly took out a pouch of black powder from her waist and sprinkled it over.
A hissing sound echoed as a burst of crimson flames erupted between her hands, scattering sparks that radiated intense heat.
The entire blue dagger slowly elongated and thinned under the scorching flames, ultimately transforming into a bizarre shape resembling a rapier.
As the flames gradually subsided, Freya held the pocket-sized rapier, now only thirty centimeters long, with satisfaction. She flicked her finger lightly against the sword tip.
A clear ringing sound immediately followed.
"This is a rapier enchanted with Tros' Bloodline power. Although its material limits its toughness, it is excellent for breaking certain special spells, force fields, or silver defense shields."
Tros' Bloodline power inherently has the ability to dispel spells.
Though Freya's skills were still developing, her enchanted weapon would yield similar effects.
At this point, she had completely used up all the blood extracts she collected from the elk ship.
After playing with the special rapier in her hand, she directly inserted it into a special compartment on her back.
There, she already had three of these blue pocket rapiers.
With her clothing concealing the four rapiers behind her, Freya stepped out of the carriage.
She looked up at the sky. Although it was overcast, there was nothing unusual.
After a brief pause, Freya suddenly reached out her hand, and a fist-sized green Sphere bounced into her palm from a giant tree as the carriage passed by.
That was the plant Reconnaissance Seed she had released.
A thread of mental information transmitted from the seed to her mind.
Upon receiving the information, Freya furrowed her brows, then released her grip, allowing the seed to burrow into the ground.
According to the information from Rand, Blackrock Town was already quite close to her current location, but the feedback from the Reconnaissance Seed indicated something seemed off.
"It seems that there might be some special situation in Blackrock Town."
Narrowing her eyes slightly, Freya's gaze flickered before she re-entered the carriage.
When she emerged again, she had changed into a special red Leather Armor, with her newly repaired Cross Sword hanging at her waist, fully entering a state of alertness.
Two hours later, the dense forest began to thin out, and the narrow path gradually widened.
Not far away, a low stone wall made of black rocks came into Freya's view.
At this time, it was nearing evening, and the gloomy sky was gradually darkening.
On either side of the entrance to this low stone wall stood two unlit torches, and the gate was slightly ajar, with only a soldier in black linen clothing huddled against one side holding watch.
The Black Carriage quietly emerged from the forest, and Freya sat in the driver's seat, gently sniffing a faint scent of blood.
Blackrock Town was surprisingly quiet.
The carriage slowly entered the town, and there was still no sign of movement from the soldier-like figures.
Freya glanced briefly before driving the carriage into the town.
Low houses lined the road, and as Freya entered, a stronger scent of blood filled the air than what she had sensed outside.
Her gaze casually swept around the surrounding houses, and Freya's frown deepened.
In her mental perception, there was not a single person in these houses; it seemed as if the entire town was empty.
"Caw!!"
A black crow had flown to the top of a tree at some point, preening its dark feathers.
Freya stopped the carriage, her azure eyes fixed on the suddenly appearing crow.
After a moment, she pointed at the crow, and a streak of Azure Thin Line shot out abruptly.
"Crack!"
The Azure Wind sliced through the crow like the sharpest blade, and red chunks of blood mixed with black smoke fell from the tree.
Watching the dispersing smoke and blood, Freya's eyes flickered.
"Could this be related to the Biological Reconnaissance Technique? Is it possible that this is a branch of the Rand Family?"
“Hiss”
As she was seriously pondering the anomalies, a strange sound suddenly came from a nearby house, catching her attention.
With a loud bang, the fragile wooden door was violently smashed open, and a massive shadow, accompanied by a strong smell of blood, rushed out from inside the house, lunging directly at Freya without any warning.
“What is this?”
Seeing the creature charging towards her, Freya instinctively drew her Cross Sword and slashed without hesitation.
Empowered by Azure Wind Flow, the sharp blade pierced through the creature's body, disintegrating it before it even reached the carriage, turning into a large mass of blood that splattered on the ground.
Freya looked grimly at the remains of the creature.
“Blood Corpse!?” (To be continued...)
