Chapter 224:
The area of the Dartesk Center is vast.
Tall buildings stand everywhere, filled with a peaceful atmosphere.
As Freya walked along, she was amazed to discover that almost every twenty people here had a low-level Apprentice Wizard among them.
Such a ratio is quite rare even in other areas.
This ratio becomes even more concentrated as one approaches the central area.
So much so that at her current location, she could almost see some Official Wizards strolling together.
Her gaze casually swept over a stout woman clad in full armor. This seemingly fierce witch did not make any effort to conceal her presence; even as they brushed past each other, Freya could sense the wild energy particles surrounding her.
However, the people around showed no signs of curiosity towards this witch, indicating that Official Wizards were quite common here.
"Truly a prosperous gathering place for White Wizards," Freya marveled to herself. After asking a few kind-hearted individuals for directions, she finally arrived at the central section of Dartesk around noon.
It was a huge square, with a magnificent fountain resembling a Misty Realm at its center.
The white stone pavement was smooth enough to reflect people's shadows.
Surrounding the square were red and white striped barriers, through which information flashed rapidly.
People dressed in various styles lingered in the square.
Some were carrying luggage, while others were dragging large pets or carrying other items.
Curiously observing her surroundings, Freya even spotted a non-human wizard in the central plaza.
It was a figure completely engulfed in flames, with charred black skin. He wore only leather pants, leaving his upper body bare.
With each step he took, he left behind a charred footprint burning with flames on the white stone pavement.
A large number of Fire Element Energy Particles swirled around him, causing the air nearby to subtly distort.
However, the white stone seemed to possess remarkable restorative properties, as the charred footprints vanished completely after just half a minute.
As Freya's gaze followed the man's movements, suddenly a figure appeared before her.
"If I were you, I wouldn't keep staring at the Flame People wizard. You should know that their kind is known for their fiery tempers. Even here, we can't guarantee he won't suddenly act out."
The kind warning made Freya retract her gaze. At that moment, she noticed that standing in front of her was a young man dressed in the same White Robe, smiling slightly at her.
"Oh? Is that so? My apologies," Freya replied with a smile. "May I ask who you are?"
"I am the receptionist here, responsible for welcoming newcomers. You can call me Rost, but my friends call me Ron," the young man named Ron answered politely.
"I am Freya. Freya Green," Freya said, slightly retracting her smile as she casually looked up and down at the self-proclaimed receptionist.
He clearly had the Mental Field of a First-Level Wizard, representing the White Wizard with his White Robe. However, on his right chest, he wore a deep blue whale-shaped badge, seemingly indicating his identity.
From an outward appearance alone, this young man gave off an impression of being harmless and soon would evoke a sense of goodwill.
However, in Freya's heart, there was a slight sense of vigilance, as she sensed a hint of illusion from the young wizard.
This was a special ability she had gained since discovering the Ruined World, a keen sensitivity to spells related to illusions.
Unaware of Freya's guarded mindset, Ron continued with a confident smile.
"Hello, Sister Freya. It looks like this is your first time here. Are you here to record information for the first time? Would you like me to guide you?"
"Well, I’m afraid I won’t trouble you with that." Looking at Ron in front of her, Freya shook her head and directly declined.
"Oh, that's quite a pity." Upon hearing Freya's refusal, Ron immediately feigned disappointment, but he did not press the matter further.
"Alright then, I wish you an enjoyable time here. If you need anything, you can find me at this fountain; I'll be here."
"Of course."
Nodding lightly, Freya brushed past him and casually chose a direction to walk away.
The receptionist named Ron kept his gaze on Freya until she disappeared into the crowd, and after a long while, he silently withdrew his gaze.
After thinking for a moment, he raised his index finger to his lips.
"Shalia, although the target's alertness is quite high, are you sure this witch poses a threat to the security of the central department? She seems no different from an ordinary wizard visiting Cloud City for the first time."
The information from Secret Mark quickly received a response, as a familiar female voice appeared in Ron's ear.
"Ron, are you doubting my judgment or Kailiel's judgment? This witch is very dangerous. I saw her almost kill a Necromancer not long ago. Even if she isn't a Dark Wizard, she's pretty close!"
Listening to Shalia's tone, Ron rubbed his forehead in frustration.
"Alright, I'll probe a bit more. After all, we are both Kailiel's disciples."
With that, he actively closed the Secret Mark.
Thinking about Shalia's demeanor, it seemed she might have had some conflict with this witch named Freya, and Ron decided not to indulge her nonsense.
"So what if she's a Dark Wizard? I used to be a Dark Wizard too. Do I look dangerous?"
After lingering for a while, he glanced around and walked in the opposite direction of Freya.
...
After parting ways with Ron, Freya quickly found the place to record initial information.
After filling out her main details and leaving the Secret Mark, she headed directly toward the other side of the square.
During her earlier stroll, she had noticed some recruitment information from a Wizard Organization within a Barrier.
This was also her main purpose for coming to Cloud City.
Among the many Barriers, she soon discovered one that was flashing with various Wizard Organization information.
Freya frowned slightly as she casually browsed through it.
The information above is very detailed, almost all marked with the specialties and pros and cons of the Wizard Organization, and surprisingly, there is even a ranking at the end.
However, the flickering of the Barrier was quick, and before Freya could finish reading, it moved on to the next piece of information.
After looking for a while, Freya suddenly stopped a female Apprentice Wizard dressed similarly to Ron and directly asked her.
"Do you have more detailed information about the Wizard Organization? I would like to take a look."
The Apprentice Wizard who was called was a delicate-looking woman, seemingly startled by Freya's sudden action, her face turning red as she replied.
"Of course, my lady, no problem. I'll get it right away." (To be continued...)
