Chapter 228:
For the sake of convenience, Freya did not wear the signature white robe of the White Wizard today, but instead donned an exquisite Red Hunting Outfit.
A red belt wrapped around her waist, complemented by black Leather Boots and a Silver Cross Sword hanging at her side. To anyone unaware of her true identity, she could easily be mistaken for a noblewoman out on her own.
Moreover, due to her training in the energy compression technique from the Black Forest, if she actively suppressed her aura as a wizard, she would only resemble a Third-Rank Wizard Apprentice.
However, the boy being pursued clearly misunderstood the situation.
Frowning at his approach, just as Freya was about to step aside to avoid any trouble, an unusual scent suddenly emanated from the boy.
This scent was peculiar; it smelled sweet but carried an unsettling undertone.
As soon as Freya caught a whiff of it, she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. However, her Great Knight physique and Official Wizard mental fortitude quickly brought her back to clarity.
‘A drugged potion!’
Just as this thought crossed her mind, the boy pretended to recognize her and shouted loudly.
"Sister! I've got the stuff! I'm leaving first; you hold them off. We'll meet at our usual spot in half an hour!"
His shout immediately drew the attention of the three people behind him. The girl, who had originally looked anxious, froze for a moment before angrily exclaiming.
"Damn Knight! You actually contacted outsiders! You two take care of that girl; I'll chase after him! The consequences are on me!"
Freya's expression darkened upon hearing their exchange, which had initially been meant to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.
The Black-Haired Boy, running swiftly, had his back turned to the girl, revealing a faint smile of triumph.
As he crossed paths with Freya, he even nodded deliberately.
However, just after he passed Freya, he suddenly felt his vision soar into the air, as if the entire world was spinning rapidly. Darkness soon followed.
A thin stream of blood gushed from the cut on his neck. The headless corpse instinctively took two steps forward before collapsing onto the wet road.
Freya stood expressionless at the spot, swiftly wiping the blood from her sword before slowly sheathing the Cross Sword.
This sudden turn of events left the three who had been running frozen in place, unsure of what had just happened.
The boy who had just greeted them warmly had lost his head in the blink of an eye.
The Gray Robe girl stared blankly at Freya as she walked slowly toward the headless corpse.
While others were confused, she knew the strength of the boy named Knight. He was a Third-Rank Apprentice, just one step away from becoming an Official Wizard, and was considered talented at the academy.
Yet he had been taken down in an instant.
"You..." she slightly parted her lips, feeling her throat dry. She didn't know what to say.
The two strong men beside her were equally clueless about what to do next.
Ignoring their thoughts, Freya approached the corpse and kicked it over with some disgust, turning it face up.
She reached out and pulled out an object wrapped in a black silk scarf from his embrace.
Gently opening it, she revealed a black cup with a corner missing, from which a faint aura of Negative Energy emanated.
“Damaged Cursed Items? Hmm? It's still of intermediate quality!?”
Pinching the cup, Freya quickly assessed its value.
Perhaps due to the exposure of the cup, the three of them finally reacted.
The girl in the Gray Robe standing in the middle thought for a moment and finally mustered the courage to approach Freya.
“Milady, the Spirit Energy Cup is an important token of my Black Wind Academy. Please, you must,” she swallowed hard, “you must return it to me.”
Faced with someone who could kill a Third-Rank Apprentice with a blink, even a fool could guess that this person before her was definitely an Official Wizard.
Moreover, judging by her demeanor, she might even be a Dark Wizard. After all, just moments ago, she had commanded the two others to kill her.
If it weren't for the importance of the Spirit Energy Cup to the academy, she wouldn't have had the courage to stand there at all; perhaps retreating and reporting to her grandfather would have been the best course of action.
Hearing the girl's words, Freya looked down at the cup in her hand. Ignoring her plea, she raised her head and said coldly, “This Cursed Item is called the Spirit Energy Cup? Can you tell me its specific function? Of course, you'd better not lie in front of me.”
“This…” Seeing Freya's still somewhat gloomy expression, the Gray Robe girl bit her lip and answered anyway. “The main function of the Spirit Energy Cup is to purify Negative Energy and condense it into Crystal.”
"Is that so?" Freya lightly nodded, her thoughts unreadable.
If that is the case, then the value of this Cursed Item is quite high.
However, it holds little significance for her, as she is neither part of the Dark faction nor the Necromancy Department, and has little need for Negative Energy Crystals.
If it were related to Wind Element or Plant Energy, it might be worth the risk.
"Can you return it to me? I can represent Black Wind Academy and pay a certain price," the girl attempted to speak.
After thinking for a moment, Freya casually threw the cup towards the girl, not worried about whether she could catch it.
She had seen information about Black Wind Academy at Dartesk Center; it seemed to be a low-ranking Wizard Organization, placed eighty-third.
Although it is an academy, there are only about fifty people combined with Official Wizards and apprentices, and they specialize in Negative Energy System and Pharmacology.
The girl's offer holds little appeal for Freya.
However, since the girl has asked, Freya replied calmly.
"What price can you pay?"
The girl who hurriedly grabbed the Spirit Energy Cup looked at Freya with an inexplicable expression, surprisingly returning the item before inquiring.
Clearly, she possesses the ability to take it back at any time.
She thought for a moment and then said carefully.
"Well, we can offer you some recipes for the Spell Model and potions from the Negative Energy System."
"I'm not interested in the Spell Model; just give me the potion recipes. If I'm satisfied, you can leave right now," Freya replied with a hint of interest in her eyes.
Although Pharmacology was not her area of expertise, it was certainly better than the Negative Energy Model. Moreover, even if she couldn't use the recipes herself, they could serve as collectibles or be used for trade.
Listening to the girl's tone, it was clear that she represented the academy, which meant she must have close ties with the Official Wizards of Black Wind.
Upon hearing Freya's words, the girl quickly responded.
"I can personally offer you a recipe for Light Powder and a recipe for a Hemostatic Agent."
"Two low-level potions?" Freya frowned slightly at the girl's response.
Although she wasn't specialized in Pharmacology, she was aware of the specific levels of potions. The ones this girl offered were all available for purchase on the market, albeit at somewhat expensive prices.
"Do you think it's equivalent to exchange an Intermediate Enchanted Item for two low-level potion recipes?" (To be continued...)
