"Goodbye."
Watching Freya leave the shop, Edgar, the Purple Big Eye, stared blankly in the direction she had gone, his tentacles swaying unconsciously.
"To encounter a special soul with time and space attributes is truly a marvelous world."
...
After bidding farewell to each other, Freya stepped out of the shop, and her entire body began to mist away, as if engulfed in black flames.
Her gaze fell upon the still bustling street, which gradually twisted and transformed, ultimately becoming a clean and tidy bedroom.
Freya sat upright at the table, as if everything that had happened before was merely an illusion.
However, she slightly raised her hand and found that she was indeed holding a purple eyeball.
"Edgar," she murmured the name of the Purple Big Eye, her brow furrowing. "This name sounds so familiar; I feel like I've seen it in some book."
Yet she couldn't recall where.
Shaking her head, she stood up from her seat and walked to the window.
The once lengthy Mysterious Key now seemed considerably shorter. If it were to be completely consumed, then her only option to enter the Ruined World again would be from an observer's perspective.
However, this entry had clarified quite a few things; the true aspect of the Ruined World existed only at night, while during the day it presented another bizarre and absurd scene.
As for this strange phenomenon, she had no idea what the underlying principle was.
Lowering her gaze to the eye in her hand, Freya's eyes sparkled with complex emotions.
"Although I don't know why that guy suddenly gave me something like this, there must be some purpose behind it. However, it's just right that I can ask it about some things regarding that world. Since it possesses everything, I should ask if there are any answers for breaking through my own potential next time."
Chapter 263:
It was a strangely dressed White Goose, respectfully inquiring with Freya.
Seeing the appearance of this White Goose, Freya was slightly startled and instinctively looked around.
The surrounding dilapidated shops seemed to have transformed; there were tidy tables and chairs, a clean counter, and many bottles filled with liquids behind the counter.
A gray crocodile, dressed in clothing, was holding something in its mouth while meticulously polishing a cup in its hands.
Joyful music floated through the air from an unknown source, and some oddly shaped creatures were slowly walking into the entrance.
'Could it be that this world has two forms of day and night?'
Freya frowned slightly, and the language spoken by the White Goose earlier was indeed the common tongue of the Wizarding World.
"Strange."
A quiet murmur caught the attention of the White Goose before her. It tilted its long neck and said, "Customer, would you like something to drink? If you haven't decided yet, you can sit here for a while. If you need anything, just ask our Boss."
"Thank you, but no."
Freya glanced at the peculiar White Goose, paused for a moment, then flicked a Silver Coin from her Robe into its wing before walking straight out of the shop.
The White Goose respectfully watched Freya's figure leave the shop before lowering its head to rub the Silver Coin in its hand, then held it up to examine it closely.
"What is this? It seems like some kind of metal."
Freya stepped out of the shop and looked around. The once-ruined city had completely transformed.
The lights were dazzling, and various shops on both sides of the street had opened. Different creatures she didn't recognize walked by her on the road.
In the distance, loud music could be heard, creating a lively atmosphere.
Freya slightly raised her head; in the dark sky, a silver moon illuminated the ground, and occasionally, she could see flying creatures darting through the moonlight.
"Thinking back, I arrived here during the day before, but this time it's night. Is this the true face of this world? Or is it all just an illusion of mine?"
While she pondered, a colorful parade of enormous carriages sang unknown songs as they passed by her on the wide, clean street.
The massive carriages were filled with scantily clad alien creatures who scattered flowers and confetti.
Suddenly, a red balloon flew toward Freya. Instinctively, she grabbed it, and with a 'pop,' the balloon transformed into a bouquet of flowers in her view.
Freya was momentarily stunned. She looked up at the carriage that had thrown her the balloon and saw a goat-headed female creature playfully winking at her while intentionally puffing out her chest.
This action sent a chill down Freya's spine. She quickly tossed away the flowers in her hand and walked in the opposite direction of the carriage.
"Perfect, the language here is understandable. I should find a more normal place to ask some questions."
The mysterious key at her waist had gradually weakened from continuously emitting smoke to now almost fading away. Freya estimated that in about ten minutes, her time for this traversal would be up.
Walking briskly down the street, she occasionally observed the shops that had their doors open.
Suddenly, a solitary shop appeared not far from her. Compared to the bustling shops around it, this one had very few customers and seemed quite quiet.
Next to the shop stood a sign that bore not unfamiliar text but rather a purple big eye pattern.
After a moment's pause, Freya headed straight toward that quiet shop.
Creaking, she pushed open the large door.
The shop was dimly lit on both sides, with hanging curtains that gave off a somewhat eerie feeling.
As Freya entered, she happened to encounter a Sphere covered in arms walking out.
The Sphere was taller than a person, and its arm-covered body seemed to be its main form, with two delicate, pale legs resembling those of a young girl beneath it.
Freya expressionlessly stepped aside to let it pass before lifting the curtain and entering the shop.
After walking through a corridor, she pushed open another door and entered a bright room.
At the back of the room was a red cabinet filled with various items, separated by a long table. In front of the table were two red High-Back Chairs.
In one of the chairs sat a Purple Big Eye creature with three dark blue tentacles. At that moment, this peculiar Wide-eyed being was delicately observing two arms with its tentacles.
Seemingly noticing someone had entered, it lowered its arms and raised its eyes, its pupils narrowing slightly.
"Oh? Hello, female being. Welcome to Edgar's Shop. How may I assist you?" it inquired with a magnetic voice that seemed to come from nowhere.
Freya naturally sat down in the High-Back Chair, glancing at the two arms on the table—those belonged to the creature that had just walked out.
"What do you do here? Could you give me an introduction?"
"Of course," the purple Wide-eyed creature nodded, or at least made a motion that resembled nodding.
"I have all sorts of things here; anything can be sold, and any problem can be asked about. However, what I require as payment are items I have never seen before, knowledge I do not understand, or things that interest me. Do you understand? And each person only has three opportunities."
"Oh? You have everything?" Hearing the first half of its sentence, Freya raised an eyebrow slightly, feeling somewhat skeptical.
After thinking for a moment, she spoke directly.
"Then, may I ask if you have the complete version of Winds of Oblivion here?"
Winds of Oblivion was not just any title; it was the full meditation method she obtained from the Crimson Eagle, but due to her level, she had only received a part of it.
"I know a total of fifty-eight variations regarding the term Winds of Oblivion. I'm not sure which category you are referring to?"
Freya was taken aback by this response and paused before probing further.
"I'm referring to a type of knowledge that can train mental strength. Do you have that?"
The purple Wide-eyed creature twisted its two tentacles together as if pondering with crossed arms for a moment. Suddenly, it extended its left tentacle and lightly tapped the table.
With a sound, a thick book with an azure cover slowly rose up.
"Is this the one?"
It pushed the book toward Freya with its tentacle and spoke in a flat tone.
Freya, however, stared Wide-eyed at the book in front of her in disbelief.
On the azure cover was engraved a large azure bird, its two eyes burning with faint flames. On the left side of the cover, the words "Winds of Oblivion" were inscribed.
This was indeed the Meditation Method that Crimson Eagle had never publicly shared.
Seeing Freya's expression, the Purple Big Eye's pupils shrank again. It pointed at the book with its tentacle and said,
"It seems so. I'm very curious about what you intend to exchange for it. I can't wait."
Hearing its words, Freya snapped back from her shock. She looked at the seemingly eager Purple Big Eye and frowned slightly.
From its previous remarks, Freya could guess that this peculiar creature was certainly an Erudite, and one of that all-knowing kind.
After thinking for a moment, she took out something resembling a Lizard Tail from the pouch at her waist and placed it on the table.
This item was something she had obtained from that secret realm. Even when separated from its main body, it possessed a strong energy Force Field around it. Even she couldn't understand the reason behind it, not even the species.
The purple eyes focused on the Lizard Tail on the table, its tentacles poked at it, and then it pushed it back toward her.
"Dark Energy Lizard or Zhehei Lizard, I have many of these reptiles raised in my Private Breeding Ground. This won't do."
"What about this one?"
Seeing it being pushed back, Freya paused for a moment and took out a Purple Seed contained in a Test Tube from behind her.
This was an Explosive Seed that Saradin had once given her. Although she had used it all at once before, she later tried to cultivate some using the methods Saradin provided, but ultimately only succeeded in growing two.
The Purple Seed had a purple shell, but inside it contained a highly concentrated Plant Energy and Energy Particles that could explode if mishandled. Even a Crystalized Wizard would likely be injured if caught off guard by it.
However, at this moment, the dangerous seed was wrapped up by the Purple Big Eye's tentacles for careful examination.
After a long while, its eyes flickered as if very dissatisfied.
"A meaningless one-time consumable. If you don't have anything that interests me, you can use your soul as collateral to serve me for five hundred years; then this knowledge will be yours."
Freya was left speechless by the words of the Purple Big Eye.
Even though she is now a Liquefaction-Level Wizard, her lifespan will not exceed three hundred years at most; five hundred years would almost be considered a lifetime of servitude.
Shaking her head lightly, Freya looked regretfully at the complete Meditation Method on the table. She estimated that even if she laid all her possessions or knowledge before this fellow, it might not be enough to persuade him.
Seeing Freya's refusal, the Purple Big Eye made no further moves and calmly said, "What a pity. You should know that if you serve me, in addition to knowledge, I will also provide compensation based on your work performance."
"Heh, no thanks. I'm currently still part of another organization and cannot serve you for the time being. I appreciate the offer," Freya replied with a tone of resignation.
At this moment, the mysterious key at her waist began to emit faint smoke, and Freya's entire body felt somewhat hazy, as if she could disappear at any moment.
Feeling the dwindling time, just as Freya was about to rise and leave this strange shop, the Purple Big Eye seemed to recall something and suddenly said, "Please wait a moment."
"What else is there?" Freya turned around with a slight frown.
"It's like this: If you don't have anything else that interests me for now, you can come back next time. My shop's location is not fixed like others; you can bring this directly to me. My name is Edgar."
With that, he tossed a fist-sized purple eyeball toward Freya, which she caught just in time.
The purple eyeball felt cold in her hand but was soft, almost like a real biological eyeball.
Although she didn't understand why he did this, Freya nodded in agreement. "No problem, I am Freya Green."
"Alright, Freya. Then see you later."
The complete Meditation Method is important for Freya, but it is not her main concern; what she cares about is the limitation of her own aptitude.
Once it comes to aptitude, no matter how precious the resources or how advanced the Meditation Method, it is of no use.
So far, none of the knowledge she has acquired can change her aptitude; it is inherent and represents the limits of what her body can endure.
When she returned from her travels, she had already established the spatial Coordinates according to the method in Hegel's Grimoire.
This means that no matter where she is, her next travel location will still be in that city.
However, due to the relationship between the Rune Array and the Mysterious Key, this kind of travel cannot be unlimited; it requires a certain cooldown time.
Outside the window, white clouds and mist drifted through the high sky as Freya slightly squinted her eyes.
"Now, ordinary weapons have become outdated for my current strength. It's just the right time to develop something suitable for me during this period; otherwise, relying solely on Spells or daggers will always be somewhat inconvenient."
