Chapter Two Hundred Sixty-Five: 0

Sure enough, within ten minutes, the remaining guards all fell one after another. 0

The killers quickly entered the two carriages as if searching for something special, tossing out a large amount of clutter carelessly. 0

"Are they Mercenaries?" 0

Seeing this, Freya raised an eyebrow, feeling slightly curious. 0

These individuals had high physical fitness and demonstrated skilled attack methods, clearly showing signs of having undergone some form of training. 0

Moreover, Freya noticed carefully that the backs of their left hands were all tattooed with a Green Serpent Head Emblem. 0

If they were bandits or similar types of vagrants, such a unified symbol would not appear at all. 0

However, even with her curiosity piqued, she had no intention of getting involved. 0

The power struggles of ordinary people held no significance for her unless they involved noble families at the national level. 0

Watching these individuals show no signs of leaving anytime soon, Freya softly murmured a spell and then lightly tapped the carriage beneath her. 0

Immediately, the previously reduced speed increased once more. 0

The wheels of the carriage and the hooves of the horses made a loud noise, yet as they passed by the group, it seemed as if they did not hear it at all and continued to busy themselves with their own matters. 0

... 0

Half an hour later. 0

Dragon Harbor appeared before Freya once again. 0

The air carried a light, salty scent unique to the coast, and faintly, the sounds of seagulls and chatter could be heard nearby. 0

As she gazed at this strange yet familiar city, Freya squinted her eyes and a slight smile curved her lips. 0

"Finally back." 0

The carriage smoothly entered City Gate, with Freya driving it along the road according to her memories. 0

Although the city's layout had changed somewhat over time, the general direction was still correct. 0

After traveling for more than half an hour, the carriage finally stopped in front of a large white estate. 0

Feeling a mix of emotions as she looked at the slightly faded white manor, Freya jumped down from the carriage and walked to the entrance. 0

Soon, a young man dressed like a servant approached her cautiously and asked, 0

"Excuse me, miss, may I ask who you are?" 0

Despite Freya intentionally wearing her old clothes and trying to suppress her Mental Field, her aura as a sorceress was still different from that of an ordinary person. It emanated a subtle presence of a higher being that instinctively instilled fear in others. 0

"Oh, I would like to ask if this is Irena's home?" 0

Ignoring the servant's attitude, Freya asked in a calm tone. 0

"Yes," the young servant nodded instinctively. 0

"That's good, I am Freya, Irena's sister." 0

"Huh?" 0

Hearing Freya's response, the attendant finally dared to take a good look at Freya's face. Her long golden hair was neatly tied in a ponytail, and her handsome appearance, along with her deep blue eyes that resembled two swirling blue whirlpools, drew attention. 0

However, compared to Irena's gentle demeanor, Freya's aura remained somewhat cold, making it hard for others to approach her. 0

Seemingly aware of his rudeness, the attendant quickly lowered his head and said, "Alright, I will report this right away. Please wait a moment." 0

"Mm." 0

Freya nodded as she watched the attendant hurry back to the estate. 0

Before long, a woman dressed in a white long dress approached quickly, accompanied by several attendants. 0

The woman had a slightly plump figure and appeared to be around thirty years old. Her shoulder-length golden hair swayed slightly with her steps, and she wore a smile that revealed some resemblance to Freya. 0

Next to her was a bald middle-aged man dressed in luxurious attire. 0

Suddenly, it was Freya's sister and her husband. 0

"Freya!" 0

Before reaching her, Irena opened her arms wide. 0

Freya also smiled as she looked at her sister, who had gained a bit of weight, and they embraced tightly. 0

Her husband stood nearby, smiling as he watched. 0

After a long while, the two finally separated. 0

Irena examined the significantly changed Freya for a moment before speaking. 0

"When did you come back? Did you graduate from the Imperial Capital Academy?" 0

"Yes," Freya replied with a gentle nod. 0

This was a lie concocted by Hegel to cover up her departure for the sea; everyone, including Baron, believed that Freya had attended Rudin Imperial Academy instead of the dangerous Wizard Academy during these years. 0

"No wonder you’ve changed so much since returning from the capital; your demeanor is different," Irena teased with a smile. Suddenly, she remembered something and pointed to the man beside her. "By the way, this is my husband Bode; I think this is your first time meeting." 0

Freya followed her gaze to the quiet man beside her and smiled as she nodded. 0

"Hello, Mr. Bode." 0

"Hello, Freya." 0

Bode seemed to be a man of few words; after greeting her with a smile, he fell silent, making it hard to imagine he was a businessman. 0

From what Freya knew, her brother-in-law had initially been a strong man who convinced Irena to marry him and move far away, which was somewhat inconsistent with her previous impression. 0

Irena understood Bode's personality best; she waved her hand dismissively. 0

"Alright, don't worry about him. There are many interesting places in the Imperial Capital that we haven't explored yet." 0

"Sure." 0

Although Freya had never been to the Imperial Capital, it didn't stop her from discussing some common topics. 0

As they chatted, they quickly arrived at the estate. 0

After sitting for a while in the estate, Freya put down her floral tea and said directly, "Sister, I wonder where Father and Eric are now and how they have been these years." 0

"Father formed a Mercenary group after you left, and it has developed quite well over the years. He lives not far from here, but for convenience, he has been staying at the Mercenary Base, which is located near the forest in North City; it's easy to spot," Irena said, her brow slightly furrowing as if she was hiding something. 0

Noticing this subtle change, Freya frowned but didn't immediately ask. Instead, she said, "I will go visit Father since I haven't seen him in several years." 0

"Alright, I'll have someone take you," Irena replied as she stood up. 0

"Okay." Freya nodded lightly. 0

The two of them exited the estate, and soon a groom brought her carriage over from a distance. 0

Freya jumped onto the carriage, nodded at Irena, and then lowered the curtain. 0

Irena stood at the door, watching the carriage gradually fade away with a complex expression. She sighed softly and took a long time before turning back to the estate. 0

Freya sat quietly in the carriage, her expressionless face hiding a glimmer of light in her eyes. 0

Irena's earlier demeanor when she met Baron clearly indicated that something was being concealed, and it didn't seem to be anything good. 0

"I hope Father is alright." 0

... 0

The North City area of Dragon Harbor was not very bustling; there were not many carriages on the wide roads, and those that were present were mostly single riders. 0

Through the carriage window, Freya noticed that there were significantly more people wearing Leather Armor and carrying weapons here compared to other areas. Most of them also carried a scent of blood, as if this was a gathering place for Mercenaries. 0

Soon, as the carriage moved forward, an area enclosed by high walls appeared before Freya; this was the Mercenary Base. 0

Two strong men in brown Leather Armor, each with a Cross Sword at their waist, stood at either side of the entrance. 0

The two seemed to recognize the coachman driving the carriage. After exchanging greetings, the carriage passed through smoothly. 0

Gently lifting the curtain, Freya looked at the Mercenary Base built by Baron. 0

There were houses made of Blackstone, several open spaces, and three Watchtowers. 0

In the distance, on one open space, more than ten young men with bare backs were training with wooden swords, while on another side, others practiced shooting with bows and arrows. In front of these individuals stood a robust and fierce-looking stranger who was supervising them. 0

While Freya observed, some people emerged from a nearby building. 0

Leading them was a middle-aged man in Silver Armor with short golden hair, sternly speaking to another person; suddenly, it was Freya's father. 0

The sound of the carriage stopping caught the attention of those nearby, and Baron recognized the coachman driving the carriage. He turned his head, smiled, and called out loudly. 0

"Irena, what brings you here?" 0

Hearing that familiar voice, Freya jumped down from the carriage, her expression slightly excited. 0

"Father, it's me. I’m back." 0

"Freya!?" 0

Upon seeing the person who had jumped down from the carriage, Baron was momentarily taken aback, then quickly stepped forward and embraced Freya tightly. 0

Feeling the strong arms around her, Freya was surprised by the intensity of Baron's welcome. For a moment, she felt as if she had returned to the days at Green Castle. 0

After a long while, Baron finally released her. It was then that Freya noticed that Baron's once handsome face had become weathered over the years, with fine wrinkles now visible. 0

His short golden hair also showed some signs of graying at the sides, but his physique remained strong. 0

Baron gazed at the young woman who had changed so much as well. His lips moved for a while before he spoke. 0

"It's good to be back. It's good to be back." 0

However, when Freya looked at Baron's face, she was taken aback. She reached out to gently touch his weathered features, finally resting her hand on his left eye. 0

Though it appeared normal on the outside, Freya could clearly see that the pupil inside was missing. 0

"Who is my father?" The cold voice escaped Freya's lips, carrying a chilling tone. 0

It seemed that Freya did not expect Baron to discover it so quickly. He paused, removed his hand from his face, and smiled. 0

"Let's not talk about that for now. Let's go back inside; you haven't eaten yet, have you? Damsdin and the others hunted an adult Deer in the forest yesterday." 0

Noticing Baron's avoidance, Freya scanned the surrounding people and found that apart from a few familiar faces, most were relatively unfamiliar Faces. 0

She frowned and turned her head to ask softly, "Father, where are Eric, Uncle Howard, and Nick? Aren't they here?" 0

Freya remembered that during their escape from the castle, that young boy on horseback had secretly given her some venison jerky. 0

"Eric is resting in that house over there, while Howard Bailey and Nick went out on a mission." 0

Upon hearing this, Freya noticed that Baron's expression darkened slightly. 0

After a moment, Freya slowly took two steps back, drew a dagger from her waist, and looked at Baron with a serious expression. 0

"Father, I am no longer the girl seeking shelter under your wing. I have grown up over the years; see for yourself." 0

With that, she flicked her wrist, and the dagger swiftly plunged into the ground, creating a dark hole. 0

No one noticed the shadow of the dagger at all. 0

"You've broken through to Knight's Pinnacle?" Baron looked at his daughter, who seemed somewhat unfamiliar in an instant, with disbelief. 0

Without speaking, Freya nodded in acknowledgment. 0

Great Knight represents a qualitative breakthrough for ordinary people, showcasing the limits of human capability. 0

A person with the strength of a Great Knight will not be mediocre in any field. 0

However, Freya could clearly sense that over the years, Baron, who has always been at the Knight's Pinnacle, has little hope for further breakthroughs. 0

Firstly, his age is a factor; secondly, he suffered too many hidden injuries during his youth in the military, which have hindered him even with the endowment of a Great Knight. 0

What Baron does not know is that Freya has not only surpassed the Great Knight level but has also reached an unprecedented height—a new level of power, that of a wizard. 0

"Well then." 0

He did not expect that his daughter had already surpassed him. Aside from immense pride, Baron felt a complex mix of emotions. 0

Before Freya spoke those words, he still regarded her as the girl who once needed him at that moment. 0

He never imagined that in just a few short years, she would grow into this. 0

"Truly worthy of being my daughter." As Baron instinctively reached out to pat Freya's head, he withdrew his hand upon seeing her serious expression. 0

He smiled and waved to her. 0

"Come with me; I will take you to meet Eric." 0

"Okay, Father!" Freya nodded. 0

Without anyone else following them, the two walked toward a nearby house, one after the other. 0

Freya walked behind Baron and sighed lightly, watching his tall and strong figure. She understood the psychological impact her changes had on him. 0

However, this was inevitable. After all, her fate changed the moment she stepped onto the Giant Ship to leave this place. 0

Her journey was still very long, while Baron's path was nearing its end. 0

This was a difference in the level of life that could not be resolved by just any spell or transformation. 0

Soon, the two arrived at the house. Baron gently pushed open the door and gestured for Freya to enter. 0

The room was simple, with only basic furniture. On the bed lay Eric's youthful figure, breathing evenly, indicating that he was asleep. 0

However, Freya noticed something was wrong. She saw that Eric's right leg was completely missing from the knee down, and his left hand was bent in an abnormal way. 0

Suddenly, Freya's expression darkened as she turned to look intently at Baron. 0

"Father, tell me everything that happened while I was gone." 0
