Chapter Three Hundred Thirty-Three:
"Mm?"
Seeing the appearance of the Bandage Creature, Freya's expression turned cold as she immediately extended her hand.
With a 'whoosh', a green serpent shadow shot out from her hand.
'Bang!'
With a loud explosion, the serpent shadow bit into the creature, but unexpectedly, the creature suddenly burst into a large cloud of pitch-black smoke.
In the dim cave, a thick cloud of black smoke filled the air in an instant.
A decayed, earthy smell wafted through, and upon catching this scent, Freya's expression changed. She quickly held her breath and swiftly took out some yellow granules from her waist to scatter around.
'Hiss'
The air seemed to ignite like gunpowder, producing a faint sound.
The yellow granules she scattered continuously absorbed the surrounding black smoke, and before long, the cave returned to its original state.
Freya gently exhaled, a faint wisp of black smoke escaping from her nostrils and mouth.
She lowered her head to look at the ground, which had turned into a mass of black particles, and paused slightly.
"There's no Bloodline Aura. Did it die?"
She had chased it all the way here and had absorbed about one-third of this Bloodline. If she had absorbed it all, she might have been able to trigger a fourth ability. However, Freya did not expect that this thing would suddenly shatter into large amounts of Black Smoke, and that even the Bloodline's aura would completely vanish, leaving no value for her to utilize.
In a daze, she recalled the strange scene she had seen earlier using the Rewind Witchcraft. Freya slightly turned her head to look at the cave from which that Bandage Creature had flown out.
The pitch-black cave looked no different from several others, but Freya had an ominous feeling about it.
The air was still filled with the decaying earthy smell mixed with a faint bitterness, as if it were the body odor of some creature.
"Well, let's end today's exploration here," she gently shook her head, feeling a sense of retreat. "Even though I didn't completely devour that Strange Creature, I still gained quite a bit; at least I now know something about the fourth ability."
The fourth ability of the King Cobra was represented by the green fissure on her forehead, belonging to the King Cobra's Cyclops.
This single eye that grew independently allowed Freya to see things that were normally invisible, but what those things were needed to be fully activated and discovered by her.
After standing in place for a while longer, Freya then began to walk back the way she came.
Along the way, she remained very vigilant and even set up many physical rune traps. However, nothing happened until she completely exited the cave.
Outside the cave, Freya took a gentle breath of the cold air from Hell.
The surrounding trees swayed gently in the cold wind.
She turned her head to look at the dark cave behind her, and the ominous feeling that had lingered in her heart slowly faded after leaving the cave.
"Maybe I was overthinking it," Freya said with a slight frown.
After pondering for a moment, she reached out and gently pressed against the cave wall.
With a sound, the black stone wall beside the cave gradually formed into a rectangular stone platform about her height under Freya's control.
Once the platform was formed, Freya took out a carving knife used for inscribing runes and etched a strange rune onto the stone surface. Then she retrieved a Magic Stone and placed it into the groove left beneath the rune.
With a snap, the Magic Stone was easily pressed in. Following that, Freya lightly snapped her fingers.
A strand of Azure Flowing Light lit up between her fingers and was pressed onto the rune.
A flash of Black Light passed over the Magic Stone, while a distorted wave emanated from around the rune.
Feeling this wave of energy, Freya nodded lightly.
"This should be fine. This cave, let's come back to explore it after preparing the necessary items."
She had a feeling. This cave, which appeared to be naturally formed, surely contained something that would greatly aid her progress in the King Cobra Legacy.
However, correspondingly, there might also be significant dangers.
After taking another glance at the cave, Freya directly summoned a rain cloud and flew into the sky.
After a while.
The Black Forest beneath her began to thin out. The rumbling sound of flowing water echoed not far away.
In the dim sky, one could occasionally see abrupt black holes, from which various mysterious objects occasionally fell.
Most were swept away by the Underworld River, while some landed on the edges of the Underworld River.
They were slowly absorbed by the Black Soil or consumed by Hell Creatures as food.
Flying in the air, Freya looked expressionlessly at the seemingly endless Underworld River, her eyes reflecting a contemplative expression.
During this time, she had roughly explored about one-third of the Black Mountains near the Underworld River.
She discovered that most of the creatures in the Black Mountains were strange ordinary hellish beings. Although the Bloodline contained within them was slightly denser than that of the Wizarding World, it was still too low.
Previously, the Bandage Creature she encountered by chance was likely very rare in this area.
After her brief investigation, she confirmed that there seemed to be no intelligent groups of Hell Creatures in this mountain range. In other words, barring any accidents, she could hunt the high-density Bloodline creatures here in large numbers.
This was relatively good news.
Soon, she flew unimpeded into the black hole where she had left her mark.
Aside from the rushing Underworld River, there was still nothing around; the initial Eye of the River Styx had not appeared during this time.
After scanning the surroundings with confusion, Freya did not linger and dove headfirst into the black hole.
Half an hour later, in the Yule Forest of the Wizarding World.
Freya flew directly out of the well.
At this moment, it was still night in the Wizarding World. A faint white mist enveloped the surrounding forest, and the air carried a slightly damp scent.
Suspended in mid-air, Freya lightly tapped her white robe, from which temperature-regulating runes slowly shed tiny red powder.
As soon as these powders came into contact with the air, they transformed into flames of extremely high temperature, but they dissipated before touching the ground.
With eyes still like green crystals, Freya felt a slight stir in her heart.
Her green hair began to retract quickly, and her green eyes completely transformed into deep blue pupils.
"If given the chance, we still need to deal with the guardian of the Underworld River. Although it didn't appear this time, we don't know if it will cause trouble next time. Hell's Mouth may be stable, but it can't withstand shocks for long. After all, this tunnel connecting different worlds is inherently fragile. Also, I need to find time to establish a supply point in the Black Mountains."
Freya started to outline a mining plan for Hell World in her mind.
Hell World, although strange and filled with unknown risks, also offers significant benefits for her to exploit.
"It would be great if I could obtain all the information about Hell World from Stellar Tower. The last time Jann showed me that Black Crystal, it only contained superficial details and didn't delve into anything deeper," Freya thought calmly.
Having data from Starlight Tower would certainly aid her exploration in Hell World much more than her own gradual discoveries.
However, this information must be classified and not accessible to anyone outside the core members.
"Maybe I should try to get on good terms with Starlight Tower. I remember their management style is quite relaxed except for the core members. It seems they even have honorary members."
As she contemplated matters beneficial to herself, Freya slowly ascended into the air and flew towards Blood Eagle Territory.
...
Ten minutes later.
Freya was in a laboratory at Lakefront Manor.
The strong scent of herbs and lime filled the entire laboratory. On the large Experiment Table, various colorful Beakers were arranged.
Some flames were evenly heating several of the bottles.
Inside the bottles, fine red particles occasionally bubbled up, resembling diluted magma and radiating considerable heat.
At this moment, Freya was carefully adding some green crystals into a slender Test Tube, bit by bit.
Inside the Test Tube was a pool of pitch-black liquid, which occasionally revealed different male faces as the crystals submerged.
These potions were all element Summon potions that Freya had concocted herself.
Although she wasn't the most skilled in Pharmacology, she could still prepare some low-level element Summon potions.
With her current financial resources, she had successfully brewed over twenty bottles.
While these element Summon potions were not as powerful as casting Summon spells herself, they made up for it with their quantity.
She intended to use them as cannon fodder to explore unknown areas of Hell World.
Just as she poured all the crystals into the Test Tube, the liquid inside suddenly began to boil violently, as if it wanted to erupt.
Freya paused slightly, and a flame of Azure Flame ignited in her right hand, slowly covering over the Test Tube.
A balanced wave of energy radiated from her hand.
Under this wave, the boiling liquid finally calmed down, and the pitch-black liquid quickly transformed into a semi-transparent Azure.
From the mouth of the Test Tube, thick currents of Wind Element Particles faintly emerged.
Freya picked up the Test Tube with satisfaction and gently rotated it. This item could summon a wind element with the strength of a Great Knight as long as it was broken and the activation spell was recited.
The liquid inside emitted a faint Azure glow as she turned it.
Then, she placed the Test Tube on a nearby Metal Rack, alongside other completed products.
"Caw caw!"
Suddenly, a sound resembling a crow's call came from outside the window.
Freya looked up and saw a large bird with black and white feathers flapping its wings as it flew toward the estate from afar.
The bird's two Claws were grasping a clever red package, which bore a symbol of white wings.
Soon, the large bird hovered above the estate but did not land due to the numerous Defensive Rune Arrays set up around it.
It circled in the air for a while before calling out loudly.
"Lady Freya, your package has arrived. Please sign for it."
"What, my package?" Freya raised an eyebrow and walked to the window, gently tapping her hands after opening it.
The air above the estate suddenly twisted, and only then did the large bird dare to land.
It flew to the windowsill and humanely placed the package at Freya's feet, simultaneously spitting out a piece of parchment from its beak.
"Please leave your Secret Mark on this. It has come from a place called Dragon Harbor, and the fee has not yet been paid. The total is three Magic Stones."
"Oh, Dragon Harbor?"
Freya glanced at the cleverly wrapped red package and immediately thought of her father.
Since she left, although she had written some letters, the delivery of messages here was very inconvenient, so it hadn't happened often.
She didn't expect a package from her hometown to arrive today, which surprised Freya a bit.
While pondering, she casually took out three Magic Stones and handed them to the bird. Then she touched the parchment, and a fierce goat head pattern suddenly appeared in the lower right corner.
Watching the Magic Stones and parchment on the ground, the large bird opened its mouth wide and swallowed everything. Then a hint of a human-like smile appeared on its slender beak.
"Thank you for your patronage. If you have any packages or letters to send, please contact us at Birds' Society. We will do our utmost to deliver them to your designated location. Additionally, we have established a base in Crimson Plain, right next to the Original Tower of Void, which is very close to here."
“Birds' Society?” Freya thought for a moment, as it seemed there was no such organization in Cloud City. “Is this a newly established Wizard Organization?”
“That's right, we were just founded a year ago, and most of our members are flying races,” the large bird nodded in acknowledgment.
“So it's a service organization specifically for delivering packages or letters,” Freya guessed with a smile.
“You are truly wise,” the large bird complimented.
“Alright, I understand now,” Freya waved her hand. “If I have something to send, I will consider you first.”
Hearing Freya's dismissive tone, the large bird spread its wings and hopped to the windowsill.
“Thank you very much, then goodbye.”
“Mm.”
Freya nodded, watching as the large bird flapped its wings and took off, completely leaving the estate's vicinity. Only then did she clap her hands again.
The protective Rune Array slightly activated, enveloping the area above once more.
Feeling the estate completely isolated, Freya opened the package on the windowsill.
Inside was a stack of letters and a bundle of golden soft hair tied with a red string.
Freya reached out and took that strand of hair, bringing it to her nose for a sniff, a familiar scent wafting through the air.
"This is Eric's scent, could it be..."
A sudden thought surged in her mind, and she quickly opened the stack of letters.
There were three letters; two were from Baron, and one was from her brother Eric.
Ten minutes later, after Freya finished reading the letters, she looked at the soft golden hair in disbelief.
"I can't believe it, how could Eric's child have been born so soon?"
In a daze, she recalled the frail girl who had always taken care of Eric. She could even remember the girl's flaxen hair and youthful face.
For a moment, an inexplicable feeling welled up within her. (To be continued)
