Chapter Three Hundred Sixty-Two:
A cold glint flashed in Freya's eyes, and without pausing, she flew directly from the Library Tower towards Lakefront Manor.
...
Above Lakefront Manor, a large mass of intense White Light suddenly shrank and quickly condensed into a massive Warhammer, crashing down towards the ground.
Boom!!!
The Warhammer swept away most of the troops engaged in battle on the ground, filling the air with a strong smell of blood and charred flesh.
The residual energy caused the nearby lake to churn violently.
Various creatures living in the water were shocked to death and floated to the surface.
The shield around the manor shook violently, revealing the previously invisible Silver Defense Shield.
In the air, a powerful man dressed in a White Robe with a Bearded Man appearance held a gigantic white Warhammer in his hand. The hammerhead emitted intense white light, and the high temperature distorted the surrounding air.
He looked disdainfully at the massive imprint left by the hammer on the ground and at the severely wounded troops on both sides. Opposite him stood another man in a white robe, a Wizard, who looked pale with anger. A thick Crimson mist spread from him, slowly coalescing behind him into a bizarre spider-like creature.
"Brian!! You’re seeking death!! How dare you act here? Don’t you fear that the Crimson Eagle Guard Unit of Blood Eagle Territory will kill you?!"
Glancing at the strange spider behind the Wizard, Brian smirked cruelly.
"Valerian, foolish Valerian, do you really think I would be as stupid as you? Haven't you noticed that throughout our battle, not a single Wizard from Blood Eagle Territory has appeared? Has your anger made you lose your sanity?"
The Wizard paused slightly, and then a flash of red crossed his face. With a fierce expression, he pulled out a spiky tendril-like weapon from behind him. "Fina, since you are already dead, you might as well die with me!"
He plunged the spike into his own forehead, and a wave of Crimson light erupted from his body, while the spider creature behind him suddenly opened the spikes in its mandibles. It let out a silent scream.
An invisible powerful aura of decay spread out, enveloping the entire lake and estate.
Hiss...
The estate shuddered slightly under the influence of the decay aura, and the Silver Defense Shield began to tremble.
Seeing Valerian use his desperate trump card, Brian's previously disdainful gaze turned serious. He tightened his grip on the Warhammer and quickly murmured incantations.
Sizzle!
The Warhammer in his hand rapidly softened, flowing like water to cover him, transforming into a heavy white armor.
The armor radiated intense heat, and beneath his feet appeared a faintly glowing translucent sun rune, representing an extreme heat aura.
Feeling the rising power of decay, Brian's expression darkened slightly beneath his helmet.
"Valerian, do you think I am still that pitiful worm you once trampled underfoot? Fina, I will avenge you today, and then I will go to Hell World to seek your soul and bring you back to life."
Not far away, Valerian had completely merged with the spider. Countless compound eyes blinked gently before his massive spider body lunged directly at Brian.
Eight spikes glimmered with Crimson light, drawing eight red Long Scars through the air.
Facing the attacking monster, Brian grasped with both hands and then swung out fiercely.
“Hammer of Glory!!”
The empty space suddenly lit up, and a massive, translucent hammer smashed down towards the Corrupted Spider.
‘Crash!!’
It felt as if the entire space was being torn apart, half white and half red.
The surviving Apprentice Knights stared blankly at everything in the air, as the immense energy wave caused the plants on the ground to rapidly wither and decay, turning into Black Ash and black water flowing across the ground.
Some severely injured individuals began to develop small Black Spots on their bodies due to the combined contamination of the two energies, which quickly spread throughout their bodies.
Before long, there was a hissing sound as they ignited, rapidly turning to ash.
Some quick-witted people realized the situation and suddenly snapped back to reality. They dropped their weapons and ran towards the outskirts of the area.
“Quick! Get out of here!!”
“Everyone, leave the area of influence!”
“Hey, Bill!!”
Screams and cries for escape filled the entire area.
The battle between the Second-Grade Peak wizards left these individuals with no strength to resist; the previous lively combat paled in comparison to the clash between two powerful Archmages, resembling children playing with toys.
“Sibran, give me your brain matter!”
In the glow of the Blazing White, the Corrupted Spider moved with a frenzied black-red mist enveloping its body.
Valerian seemed to be completely tainted by the Biological Bloodline within him, having lost all rationality. Countless Crimson compound eyes gazed greedily at Brian before him.
Eight spiked limbs struck down with a bang, piercing the top of the Warhammer.
With a crisp sound, a slight crack appeared on the Warhammer, which was purely condensed energy.
At the same time, a faint sound emanated from the ground, reminiscent of countless pieces of glass rubbing against each other.
The Silver Defense Shield of the manor suddenly cracked with numerous fine lines, appearing as if it would shatter completely in no time.
As the two faced off anxiously, a vast expanse of Dark Gray Clouds slowly spread overhead.
Layer upon layer of black clouds rolled gently, as if hiding some enormous creature within.
In an ominous sense, a hint of danger permeated through these clouds to both individuals.
Valerian, who had already devolved into a monster, fearfully lifted his head, sensing that something was approaching.
A roar akin to a hurricane echoed as the pitch-black clouds suddenly began to swirl above them.
A strong wind began to rise, seemingly extinguishing even the auras emitted by both individuals.
"What?"
Seeing Valerian's unusual behavior, Brian looked up, and suddenly his expression changed.
In the overcast sky, a gigantic Azure hand was rapidly descending towards the two of them.
The patterns on the hand were clearly visible, filled with an intense concentration of Wind Energy Particles, as if the surrounding air had been completely drained.
Brian stared in disbelief at the Giant Hand reaching towards him, a flash of determination crossed his eyes. Ignoring the risk of injury, he swiftly deflected the strike from the Corrupted Spider. He turned and flew quickly into the distance.
"This is Third-Level Witchcraft!?? Is there a high-level wizard here??? I thought I had already made arrangements with Blood Eagle Territory. How could there be another high-level wizard attacking here? Could it be that someone from the Laila Family is taking advantage of the situation, or is it Penny?"
One possibility after another flashed through his mind, but he still couldn't find the real reason.
"Who exactly is using Third-Level Witchcraft!?"
"Ah!!!!"
While he was racking his brain, a piercing scream suddenly came from behind him.
The scream sounded like countless voices overlapping in agony, creating a very eerie and terrifying sound.
"Valerian?"
He instinctively turned around and saw a thick mist of blood rapidly dispersing in the air behind him, with countless dismembered limbs falling down. The blood seemed to be drawn upwards by something, disappearing into thin air.
This bizarre scene sent a chill down his spine. He reached out and grasped one of the runes on his arm armor.
The originally heavy armor became solid again, resembling a tin can that enveloped him.
On the outside of the armor, a layer of intense Energy Particles was added, making him look like a burning torch.
This layered defense briefly calmed his heart, but suddenly, a massive force of compression surged from all directions.
His vision suddenly went dark, and he felt as if a giant hand had grasped him.
The energy defense outside the armor was instantly shattered, scattering into countless specks of light. Following that, the thick armor quickly deformed, squeezing his body.
Blood streamed from Brian's eyes, nose, and ears, drawn towards a certain direction.
He struggled to open his bloodshot eyes; his brown pupils slightly contracted as he vaguely saw the scene outside through the darkness.
It was a Blonde Witch dressed in a white robe with red edges, surrounded by faint white mist, staring expressionlessly in his direction.
"Please let me go, my lord of Blood Eagle Territory. I am Brian, under Lord Nick of the Crimson Eagle Guard Unit. Please spare me."
Intermittent Spiritual Messages transmitted from the Giant Hand of Wind to Freya, causing her to frown slightly as she recalled the Bald Witch who had transferred from the Rune Department to the Crimson Eagle Guard Unit.
"Nick's subordinate?"
After a pause, she gently waved her hand, and the Giant Hand holding Brian transformed into countless gusts of wind and quickly dissipated.
Without the Giant Hand's support, he fell from the air.
With a thud, he landed on the ground.
Lightly landing on the ground, Freya looked down at the nearly dying Wizard, with the Azure Flame faintly glowing in her hand, exuding a strong sense of danger.
"You don't have the Blood Eagle Territory emblem on you. Show me proof, or you won't want to know the consequences."
Brian, slumped on the ground, had his armor nearly twisted, and his internal organs were severely damaged to varying degrees. However, even in this state, he trembled and raised his arm.
Suddenly, a blue light flashed between his fingers, and a fearsome-looking scorpion appeared on his arm.
Glancing at the Secret Mark, Freya narrowed her eyes and coldly said, "Indeed, it is Nick's mark. Fine, I won't kill you. But as a punishment for fighting on my territory, what do you think you should offer as compensation?"
Hearing Freya's words, Brian finally understood why he had been suddenly attacked.
He had previously conducted a simple investigation of this area and knew that a Wizard lived in Lakefront Manor. According to descriptions from surrounding Wizards, it was merely an ordinary Rune Department Wizard from the Blood Eagle Territory.
He had thought that even if there was a fight, it wouldn't be a big deal. He never expected that this ordinary Wizard would turn out to be like this.
For a moment, he felt an overwhelming sense of regret.
After slightly recovering from his injuries using Plant Energy and Energy Particles, Brian spoke in an unusually hoarse voice with great respect. "I sincerely apologize for this incident. I will repay your mercy with my most precious resources. I will fulfill any request you have."
"Oh? Is that so?" Freya tilted her head and suddenly noticed that his armor was slowly recovering and she could vaguely smell a hint of Biological Bloodline.
"Forget it, I don't need anything from you. Just take this as compensation!"
With that, Freya directly reached out and grabbed the armor on him, pulling it forcefully.
"Rip!"
The entire armor was surprisingly torn evenly in half and held in her hands.
Once the armor was removed, it immediately began to flow and soon transformed into a fist-sized Silver Sphere.
"Oh, this kind of Cursed Item is activated?"
As Freya casually examined the object, Brian, who had been stripped of his armor, showed a flicker of unwillingness in his eyes but felt powerless.
Although he was a Second-Level Wizard and a member of the Crimson Eagle Guard Unit, he was ultimately not a wizard from the Blood Eagle Territory. In the Crimson Plain region, aside from the significant difference in strength, their identities made it impossible for him to harbor any thoughts of revenge.
It is well known that the Blood Eagle Territory had always been exceptionally domineering, and although their tyranny had somewhat diminished with their growing power, it still persisted.
"So this is how it works. It seems I need to conduct a separation experiment."
Muttering lightly to herself, Freya didn't even glance at the Wizard on the ground and turned to walk toward Lakefront Manor.
As she moved, the previously damaged plants around her began to grow rapidly, soon returning to a lush appearance.
For this simple catalytic repair, Freya's affinity for Plant Energy made it quite easy for her to accomplish.
However, through this unexpected incident, she also realized the drawbacks of always keeping a low profile.
"Three-Layer Defense Rune Array has been broken through twice; it seems it's time to update the Rune Array. However, with this armor, the loss isn't too significant."
As she casually inspected the armor in her hands, she discovered that it seemed to contain a very powerful Bloodline Power. It was this Bloodline that allowed the armor to self-repair and transform into whatever weapon or armor the user desired.
Soon, Freya arrived at the front of the estate.
The originally defensive Thorn Barrier had withered significantly due to the impact of the battle, and what remained had lost its activation function.
After dispersing the thorns that blocked the entrance, Freya directly entered the estate's Rune Control Room.
Casually placing the Silver Sphere onto a Black Box, she then took out a black cube from her possession and approached the Control Panel.
At this moment, two of the five set runes on the Control Panel had completely turned gray. (To be continued.)
