Chapter Three Hundred Fifty-Eight:
The combination of Bloodline Power and mental strength made Freya faintly feel as if she had touched a hint of the so-called transformation of the 'Dawn' wizard.
It was a profound transformation of life, almost altering the essence and soul of a wizard as a human being.
Freya extended her hand, watching the dark blue whirlwind slowly spinning in her palm, revealing a contemplative expression.
"What a miraculous instinct, yet it is quite different from elemental wizards. My essence is still that of a human, but flowing within me is the Bloodline of the King Cobra. Although I previously used Bloodline Power to drive the Crystal's condensation and imprinted the mark of the King Cobra within it, I cannot become such a special existence."
"By the way." She suddenly recalled the leaves of the Tree of Life that had helped her catalyze Bloodline Power at the last moment. "Could it be the effect of the Tree of Life?"
The growth journey of the Tree of Life was always recorded in her mind; the selfless Forest King possessed immense vitality that had a special significance for any form of existence.
Even in her King Cobra Legacy records, there were several instances of collaboration between the Tree of Life and the Rain God.
In her speculation, Freya gently closed her eyes. In the boundless black Mind Sea, three sparkling Crystals slowly floated in the air.
Like three beautiful stars, they emitted a gentle aura.
Freya's gaze swept over the first two Spiritual Crystals before shifting to the last Crimson Crystal.
The circular Crystal was surrounded by densely engraved runes, which shimmered with a hazy glow as if they were breathing.
This was an indication that her Empowerment Spell was functioning normally. Freya carefully examined the Witchcraft Model and Mental Crystal that she had personally inscribed.
After a long while, she paused slightly. At the very top of the Crystal, a fine green trace flashed by.
However, this trace did not bring any discomfort to the Crystal; it seemed to belong to it as an integral part.
"This is the taste of life, perhaps this is indeed the reason."
As she murmured to herself, Freya opened her eyes, a hint of Azure flashing in her deep blue gaze.
"However, no matter what, I have succeeded now. The path I speculated is completely correct, unlike before when I was groping my way forward slowly. As long as I reach Fourth-Level Wizard and achieve a certain form, I will be able to traverse any bizarre world at will, without the fear of being eliminated and obliterated at any moment."
With her future confirmed, Freya felt quite pleased.
But when she saw the blood-stained laboratory, her expression immediately turned serious.
Two weeks of Bloodline Power contamination had left the laboratory in disarray. Some important experimental semi-finished products protected by Rune Array had also suffered considerable damage due to this promotion.
"What a hassle."
She murmured lightly as her figure shifted slightly. Countless dark winds surged from behind her, gathering all the bloodstained debris together, then compressing it into fragments that were blown out the window, falling into the Purple Mist.
Watching the various fragments and debris flying out the window, Freya displayed a curious expression.
"Wouldn't a cleaning spell equivalent to a Third-Rank Apprentice consume no energy? What about this?"
She slowly extended her hand, and the dark winds coalesced in her palm, with countless currents rubbing against each other, producing a hissing sound.
A pitch-black Cross Longsword gradually extended in her hand.
This was an upgraded version of her previously compressed spell. Before, due to insufficient control over Wind Element Particles, she could only form it in lines and Flowing Light. Now, having been promoted to Third-Rank Wizard, Freya had reached an instinctive reaction to wind. Thus, the spell that had existed only in theory was finally completed.
The Cross Sword composed of dense Wind Energy Particles felt substantial in Freya's hand.
The Blade gleamed with a faint metallic luster; if one listened closely, they could hear the howling wind within the sword.
Satisfied with the final form of the spell, Freya gently waved towards the window.
"Swish!"
A faint sound echoed as the dense Purple Mist seemed to be split in two, instantly creating a vertical gap.
Through this gap, she could vaguely see the outer area shrouded by the Corruption Toxicity Array.
Looking at the results she had created, Freya raised an eyebrow and casually slashed a few more times.
Finally, she grasped her Cross Sword and suddenly thrust it into the air.
With a whoosh.
A large circular hole abruptly appeared in the sky above the Misty Forest. A beam of sunlight, once obscured by dark clouds, now shone down onto the estate.
Bathed in warm sunlight, Freya gently lifted her head, the azure sky reflecting in her pupils.
"The power has increased about fourfold compared to before, with a mental energy consumption similar to that of a first-level ordinary spell. However, is this level of control a bit too high?"
In her impression, a Third-Rank Wizard specializing in Wind Element would not possess such control even after deep elementalization unless they entered Elemental State to enhance their affinity for Wind Energy Particles through changes in their physical state.
Retracting her gaze from the empty space, Freya faintly sensed that after her successful advancement, she seemed to be emanating some kind of transparent Force Field.
This Force Field was not a diffused mental wave but rather a Special Witchcraft Aura.
She narrowed her eyes slightly, and the azure in her gaze suddenly deepened, forming an hourglass-shaped Rune Array.
The upper part of the hourglass represented wind in Azure, while the lower part was a deep crimson. The two slowly rotated and intertwined, creating a unique visual effect.
Freya looked down at her body, which was surrounded by a thin layer of Azure mist.
The mist swirled around her like the feathers of a bird, helping her control the Wind Energy Particles.
"Feathers? So that's what it is. No wonder."
Seeing the mist transform into feather-like shapes, Freya immediately understood that this was the Empowerment Spell inherent to the Wind of Oblivion Meditation Method.
This could be considered a special type of Force Field or a self-contained aura-type magic, with only one ability: affinity for Wind Energy Particles. This allowed her to achieve such heights even without an elementalized body.
This ability wasn't particularly strong, but it was always present around her, just like her first Wind Element Force Field.
The increase in affinity represented a boost in magical power and an enhancement in casting speed.
This also meant that even when casting Third-Level Witchcraft, Freya would experience reduced unnecessary mental energy consumption.
"It seems that the Winds of Oblivion's Meditation Method isn't entirely useless as an Empowerment Spell. I wonder what the final layer of the Empowerment Spell is?"
Freya recalled the Azure Bird on the cover of the Wind of Oblivion Meditation Method; its posture gave her a faint sense of familiarity. However, she couldn't recall any creature that matched it in her memory.
"It might also be related to the Wizard's Mark that created this Advanced Meditation Method."
Shaking her head lightly, she stopped thinking about it and examined the new changes that had appeared on her body before stepping out of the laboratory.
After having a simple meal at the manor and replenishing her nutrition, Freya lightly snapped her fingers.
The shielding Force Field emanating from Lakefront Manor immediately dispersed.
At that moment, the area outside the manor had transformed into a swampy landscape, with only a clear white pebble path leading to the manor's main gate.
Purple Mist wrapped around the purple vegetation. The wind rustled through the forest, creating a soft sound, and apart from the poisonous plants, there was no sign of life. The entire estate, shrouded in the Corruption Toxicity Array, felt somewhat eerie and terrifying.
As soon as she opened the Force Field, Freya immediately revealed several blue halos between her fingers, which were Wizard's Marks.
Some of them were congratulations from her colleagues in the Rune Department for her appointment as a manager, followed by a transaction report from Klyent, and several invitations to banquets from the Elk Wizard Family.
While Freya was looking at this information and replying one by one, suddenly an unfamiliar Wizard's Mark appeared between her fingers.
It was a scorpion pattern. A slightly cold female voice came from the mark.
"Hello, Freya, I am Nick. I'm contacting you regarding Brian."
Listening quietly to Nick's message for a long time, Freya gently waved away the Wizard's Mark in her hand, revealing a hint of an inexplicable smile.
"She actually wants to retrieve that Cursed Item. Does she really think that the status of the Rune Department in the Blood Eagle Territory will be as poor as before?"
In the Blood Eagle Territory, various departments have their hierarchies. On the surface, the Crimson Eagle Guard Unit, as a combat department, holds top-tier power and status. Among them, the Assassination Squad of the Crimson Eagle Guard Unit is directly affiliated with the Elder Three. Meanwhile, the Rune Department has always been a loose organization, with most members scattered across various locations as maintenance wizards for Rune Arrays or Rune Towers, placing them at a relatively lower tier—just slightly better than the Cultivation Department.
However, as the Blood Eagle Territory begins to explore other worlds, the status of the Rune Department will surely see some improvement.
Especially those elites from the Rune Department who participated in establishing the world passage.
These wizards guided by the Stellar Tower, if not too foolish, will likely attain decent positions in the future.
Currently, Nick seems to still be an ordinary Hunter Team Member in the Crimson Eagle Guard Unit, while Freya has already been appointed as a manager.
Initially, Freya planned to ignore it. But thinking back to when she first entered the Rune Department, Nick had been quick to resort to violence over trivial disagreements.
A faintly playful smile appeared in her eyes as she raised her finger, causing the dissipated scorpion mark to reappear between her fingers.
"What do you want?"
"Tomorrow at this time, location Blackstone City, let's discuss in detail." Nick's words were concise.
"No problem."
Looking at the dimmed Scorpion Mark, Freya thought for a moment and turned back to the laboratory.
"It seems that this activated armor is not only a piece of Cursed Item close to a Magic Weapon, but it also holds some other secrets. Let me take a look."
She had just been promoted to Third-Rank Wizard, and her mental fluctuations were not yet stable; her body still needed to adapt to the mental power and strength at this level. Taking some time to relax during this period was not a bad idea.
Back in the laboratory, Freya took out the Black Box containing the Armor Sphere from the drawer of the Experiment Table.
Gently opening it, the silver Sphere remained inside.
She reached out and picked up the Sphere, feeling a soft texture in her palm.
A strong Bloodline Aura emanated from the Sphere.
Gently sniffing this Bloodline Aura, Freya's hand holding the Sphere suddenly ignited with pitch-black flames.
The flames burned quietly, and her intangible mental power began to seep into the Sphere through these flames.
Suddenly, Freya's expression froze slightly.
"Huh? A mere Second-Level Wizard's mental imprint can't be erased?"
Her face darkened suddenly, and her palm tightened abruptly.
"Ha!"
The entire Sphere slowly deformed under her grip, her five fingers sinking deeply into the Sphere.
At the center of the Sphere, a Blazing White eyeball was exposed as Freya pulled at it.
The pupil of the eyeball bore a mark resembling a white corona, with faint black flames scorching it, yet having no effect whatsoever.
Seeing that the spiritual flames were ineffective, Freya extended her other hand, slowly reaching toward the eyeball.
"Let's see if you can withstand this direct and violent erasure!"
Her palm gently touched the luminous eyeball.
"Hissss"
A harsh sound, like a cat scratching glass, erupted from her palm as streams of silver liquid light sprayed out from the edges of her hand.
It left a faint silver mark on Freya's face.
The erasure continued for a full three minutes before Freya slowly retracted her hand.
She looked grimly at the corona mark on the eyeball. Despite the violent erasure, she was careful not to damage the specific function of the Cursed Items. However, even so, half of the mark remained etched on it and was gradually recovering over time.
"Is this mark branded with its own Bloodline? Since I can't erase it, what would happen if I absorbed the Bloodline within?"
Lost in thought, Freya gradually relaxed her other hand, allowing it to automatically return to its Sphere form.
Then her eyes narrowed slightly, revealing hidden hourglass-shaped runes once more, while a faint pulling force began to rise from her right hand.
The Sphere that had been quietly resting in hand was drawn by this attraction, and a faint red mist began to emanate from within.
However, just as the red mist was about to touch Freya's palm, it suddenly shrank back in a strange manner, instantly retreating back into the Sphere.
At the same time, a feeling akin to biological fear radiated from the Sphere.
"Hmm?"
Feeling this emotion clearly, Freya looked at the Sphere in her hand with a strange expression.
"This Cursed Item actually has its own will; could it be alive?"
Experiments combining living beings with Cursed Items were not uncommon among Dark Wizards, but they were strictly prohibited in Cloud City.
Even the Blood Eagle Territory had enacted laws banning similar practices. After all, although wizards are at a higher level of life than other beings, they still hold a sense of reverence towards life. (To be continued.)
