Chapter Three Hundred Seventy-Three: 0

However, when Freya turned around, her grim expression immediately silenced the Silver-Haired Witch. 0

"The structure of the Rune Tower has been tampered with; I suspect there is a traitor! Jessica, have any other wizards besides the stationed personnel come to the World Gate recently?" 0

"A traitor?" 0

Upon hearing this word, the nearby wizards stirred slightly. 0

Jessica, the Silver-Haired Wizard, thought for a moment before raising her head and speaking. 0

"My lord, about half a month ago, Lord Kevin brought people here for an inspection." 0

"Kevin Lewis?" Freya frowned slightly. 0

Kevin Lewis is one of the three grandsons of the Elder. He is considered part of the royal faction and has been serving as Deputy Director in the Technical Department for the past two years, having reached Second-Grade Peak in strength. 0

The authority of a Deputy Director is sufficient to access the Rune Tower. 0

After pondering for a moment, Freya said in a low voice. 0

"Inform the Elder about the situation here in a confidential letter. Also, eliminate all other wizards from nearby factions. If there is any resistance, arrest them and send them to Black Prison. The World Gate is currently one of my Blood Eagle Territory's most important Resource Points; we cannot afford any mistakes." 0

"Yes, my lord!" 0

Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Jessica immediately called two wizards and turned to leave. 0

Freya stood quietly in place, slightly narrowing her eyes as she scanned her surroundings. 0

Although one Stabilization Tower had been temporarily disabled, the power output of the other three Rune Towers had noticeably decreased, and the World Rift was subtly beginning to show signs of instability. 0

After a long while, Freya withdrew her gaze and spoke to the Wizard who had come with her. 0

"Reiner, please return to the department and bring Lord Eric and his team over for maintenance. Also—" 0

She quietly handed a black scroll, about the thickness of a finger, to the Wizard. 0

"Deliver this to Enya in the Intelligence Department. It must be handed directly to her; it's for her." 0

The Wizard concealed the black scroll and nodded. 0

"I understand. But, my lady?" 0

"I will stay here in case of any unforeseen circumstances. Now go." 0

"Yes." 0

Watching the Wizard ride the giant eagle into the sky, a faint cold light flashed in Freya's eyes. 0

"How dare they still remain here, hmph." 0

After a pause, she began walking toward the outskirts of the base. 0

Half an hour later. 0

In the chaotic Stone Forest area of Sakalen, brown stone pillars of varying heights stood like a real forest. 0

These pillars were covered in fine holes, and when the wind blew, they emitted a faint whimpering sound. 0

Freya stepped on the gravel ground, producing a faint crunching sound. 0

She bent down to pick up an ordinary stone and gently crushed it. 0

Fine brown sand slowly trickled through the gaps between her fingers. 0

After tossing the fine sand aside, Freya walked directly into the Stone Forest. 0

The area of the Stone Forest was vast, filled with various similar monsters standing among the stones. 0

It resembled a natural maze; without special methods, ordinary people would find it nearly impossible to escape. 0

After wandering in the Stone Forest for over ten minutes, Freya stopped and looked around. 0

Suddenly, she noticed a dark piece of cloth at the base of a stone pillar, standing out conspicuously among the rubble. 0

She approached and picked up the piece of cloth. 0

It appeared to be a tattered hem of a robe, still carrying a faint scent of sulfur mixed with some spellcasting materials. 0

Gently sniffing the scent, Freya narrowed her eyes slightly. 0

"Let me see what you can offer me." 0

Muttering to herself, she took out a pinch of gray powder from her waist and covered the black cloth with it. 0

Then, she began to chant a spell in broken phrases. 0

Her azure pupils gradually turned gray, her vision suddenly dimmed, and then a hazy image appeared in her sight. 0

A pair of feet in black boots walked on a patch of damp ground. 0

The surrounding threads were somewhat dim, resembling a forest, where various weeds and shrubs could be seen, along with long-eared creatures hiding behind the bushes. 0

The owner of the black boots walked for about two or three minutes before stopping in front of a large brown tree. 0

Before long, a figure in a White Robe emerged from behind the tree. 0

The two faced each other, seemingly engaged in conversation. From the shadows on the ground, Freya vaguely saw that the figure in white appeared to hand something to the owner of the black boots. 0

The Cloak Edges fluttered slightly in the wind. Freya's gaze also swayed as the scene beneath the two suddenly flipped. 0

Suddenly, a flash of Blue Light crossed her vision. 0

"What is this?" 0

However, just as she wanted to take another look at that figure, Freya's gray pupils quickly faded. 0

The hazy and distorted image returned to normal. 0

The black cloth in her hand had turned into gray powder, slowly dispersing with the wind. 0

Watching the gray powder drift away from her hand, Freya frowned slightly. 0

"That figure in white seems..." 0

Suddenly, she felt a chill down her back, followed by a strong howling sound. 0

Without time to think further, Freya grabbed instinctively and turned around abruptly. 0

"Bang!!!" 0

A tremendous force surged from the front, directly sending her flying. 0

"Looking for death!" 0

As she was propelled backward, Freya's expression darkened, and she suddenly extended her hand. 0

The air seemed to dim abruptly, and amidst countless dark winds, a massive hand descended fiercely upon that area. 0

"Boom!!!!" 0

The overwhelming pressure of the Storm Giant Hand completely reduced the Stone Forest to dust. 0

It was as if a hurricane had swept through, raising large clouds of debris. 0

Suspended in mid-air, Freya's eyes were enveloped in a layer of green fluorescence. 0

In her line of sight, within the thick dust, a gigantic shadow darted rapidly, charging toward her in the sky. 0

"Whoosh!!" 0

A large hole suddenly burst open in the dust, the air twisted violently as a translucent shadow, mixed with a strong and foul odor, lunged ferociously at her. 0

"Hmph! This level of attack." 0

Freya's gaze turned cold as she pointed with her finger. 0

A dark green Thin Line shot out suddenly from between her fingers. 0

"Rip!!" 0

The sound of fabric tearing echoed as the Thin Line sliced through the side of the shadow, splattering a large amount of blood and entrails. 0

A creature resembling a black leopard suddenly fell from the air. 0

With a thud, it landed on the gravel ground, instantly falling silent. 0

Seeing the creature that had revealed itself after becoming visible, Freya controlled her descent and slowly landed. She approached the corpse. 0

The creature was large, measuring four to five meters in length without counting its tail. Entrails and blood were scattered everywhere, and the air was thick with a strong metallic scent. 0

Freya noticed that the shadow of the creature was slightly distorted, as if something was trying to break free from it. 0

"A Shadow Beast from the Shadow Realm?" 0

Suddenly, she looked up at the sky. 0

In the deep blue sky, aside from a few floating white clouds, there was nothing particularly unusual. 0

After a while, a gray dot suddenly flashed in the sky. 0

"Hmph!" 0

Upon noticing the gray dot, Freya flicked her finger. 0

Bang!! 0

A burst of gray mist erupted in the air. Something that resembled dust slowly began to drift down towards the ground. 0

Before the object hit the ground, she reached out with her hand. 0

The gray spot automatically flew into Freya's hand. 0

In her hand was a gray insect resembling a bee, but unlike an ordinary bee, this insect had a pattern on its abdomen that depicted a woman’s face with hollow eyes. 0

"Just as I thought." 0

Holding the insect, Freya raised her finger, and a white rose mark slowly appeared. 0

"Jessica, surround Misty Stone Forest. I was attacked here, and I suspect it may be related to an insider. Conduct a thorough search inside. Look for any clues." 0

"Yes, my lady. We will arrive in ten minutes." 0

"Mm." 0

Breaking the mental link voluntarily, Freya placed the strange bee into a test tube and then stored it in her waist pouch. 0

This creature was a reconnaissance insect; Freya had only knocked it out and did not kill it completely. 0

There still remained the opponent's mental imprint within it, and Freya believed that since she had found this creature, the wizard would definitely come looking for it. 0

Otherwise, if the main force of Blood Eagle Territory arrived, with a wizard specialized in prophecy from the Shadow System, the clues would likely become clearer. 0

After wandering around the Stone Forest and briefly dealing with the corpse of the Shadow Beast, Freya left the area. 0

Four hours later. 0

At the base of World Gate, in an ordinary room. 0

Freya sat quietly on the soft sofa, looking at the information collected by Jessica in her hands. 0

These were significant events that had occurred around the World Gate in the past year. 0

However, despite the numerous incidents, not a single one was useful. 0

After a long while, she set down the documents, her eyes reflecting a thoughtful expression. 0

"The Rune Tower has been tampered with. Without proper authorization, it would be impossible to make changes silently. This means there is at least one traitor within the mid-level or even high-level ranks of the Blood Eagle Territory. Who could it be that poses a threat to Blood Eagle Territory?" 0

Although Blood Eagle Territory had been rampant in Crimson Plain and had made many enemies while clearing out other Wizard Organizations, if there were any organizations capable of influencing Blood Eagle Territory now, aside from Sky City, it would only be those few families that had persisted since Ancient Times. 0

The Shadow Beasts from the Shadow Realm were not unfamiliar to wizards; some wizards from the Shadow System or Necromancy Department liked to refine various Shadow Beasts into their own Magical Pets or puppets. 0

There was nothing useful to be found from this clue. 0

Moreover, she had already used up the Cloak Edges, but the last hint of blue was deeply imprinted in Freya's memory. 0

"That color... I feel like I've seen it somewhere before. It's so familiar." 0

With her brow slightly furrowed, as Freya fell into deep thought, a knocking sound came from outside the door. 0

"Knock knock knock." 0

"Lady Freya, we found something in Misty Stone Forest," Jessica's voice called from outside. 0

Gently shaking her head, Freya lifted her gaze and set aside the documents before responding. 0

"Come in." 0

'Click!' 0

The sound of the door opening, Jessica with Silver Hair walked into the room. 0

She was holding a black bag, which had damp marks underneath and faintly emitted a smell of sulfur. 0

Staring at the black bag, Freya leaned back on the sofa, puzzled. 0

"What is this?" 0

'Hiss' 0

Jessica tore open the seal on top of the bag and placed it on the table in front of the sofa for Freya to see clearly. 0

Inside was a bunch of red flowers, which seemed to be cracked around the edges, with a faint yellow glow rolling within the crevices of the flowers. 0

"Reporting, my lady, this is Lava Flower, one of the most commonly used spellcasting materials by Fire Specialization wizards, found at the Psychedelic Stone Gate." 0

"Oh? Fire Specialization, huh?" 0

Freya pondered for a moment before looking up. 0

"Besides this, were there any other discoveries?" 0

"I'm afraid not. Other than a large amount of blood and entrails left at the place you attacked, there was nothing special in other areas." 0

"Mm." She nodded and continued, "Keep this safe and wait for Reiner and the others to arrive. In the meantime, I will take care of it myself." 0

Freya pointed at the bundle of Lava Flowers, and instantly all the flowers floated up and flew into an empty vase nearby. 0

After doing this, she gently waved her hand at Jessica. 0

"There is nothing else. You may go out; I still have some matters to think about." 0

"Yes, my lady." 0

Jessica slightly bowed before walking out. 0

Freya stood up and gazed out the window of the room. 0

Outside, many stationed wizards were busy with this matter, setting up layers of protection and traps. 0

The three Rune Towers were the only ones glowing with a faint light, illuminating the surroundings. 0

Unbeknownst to her, the fiery evening glow had already climbed into the sky. 0

Watching that beautiful scene, a strange light flashed in Freya's eyes as she pondered something in her heart. 0

Time slowly passed. 0

The beautiful evening glow gradually succumbed to the night. 0

The earth fell into darkness. 0

Around the station, White Crystals began to glow slowly for illumination and warning, while several patrolling wizards were lighting a campfire, grilling something. 0

The aroma of meat wafted through the air from that direction. 0

After a while, the once lively camp fell completely silent, with only the occasional soft sound of snoring breaking the stillness. 0

A thin veil of white mist began to spread, though it was unclear when it started. 0

As the White Mist thickened, the entire camp gradually became enveloped in a white haze, with only four White Crystals faintly glowing in the midst of it. 0

In a pitch-black room. 0

Strands of White Mist slowly flowed through the cracks of the door into the room. 0

The White Mist twisted and rolled, gradually transforming into a white silhouette that appeared beside the bed. 0

The white figure had no distinct facial features or form, only two dark voids symbolizing eyes staring at the sleeping Freya. 0

Freya seemed completely unaware, continuing to lie on the bed. 0

Suddenly, the silhouette moved slightly, then transformed into a hazy white smoke that gradually covered Freya. 0

Her previously healthy complexion turned pale, and her brows furrowed as if she were experiencing some strange nightmare. 0

In her dream, Freya found herself in a pitch-black grassland. (To be continued.) 0
