Chapter 386:
A splash echoed as a drop of translucent black liquid burst forth, quickly evaporating with a hissing sound in the air.
As the Black Eye was crushed by Freya, in a hidden location within the White Tower, a Wizard dressed in a green Robe, who had been meditating with his eyes closed, suddenly darkened in expression and clutched his eyes tightly.
A faint sound escaped from between his fingers.
Through the gaps of his fingers covering his eyes, a deep stream of blood tears flowed down.
"Damn it, my Cursed Eye Spell was broken!? That woman..."
In his final moments of vision, aside from Freya's feet, there was an inexplicable aura that transmitted through the mental link to his brain.
This aura was unremarkable, carrying only a brief meaning.
"Don't provoke me, get lost."
This sensation instinctively filled him with a strong sense of crisis, causing goosebumps to rise on his back.
After a long while, the Wizard released his grip on his eyes. At this point, where his left eye once was, there was now a dark hollow, as if it had been gouged out.
Threads of blood mixed with translucent liquid flowed from the hollow, sticking to his gaunt cheek.
A faint fear lingered in his remaining right eye.
Even if he lost his eyes, he could still regenerate them, but the strong sense of danger was deeply rooted in his heart.
"When did you find such a terrifying creature, Klyent? This plan has to change!"
With no time to tend to his eye injury, he immediately raised his finger, and a silver-white wolf head slowly materialized between his fingers.
...
Inside the Silver Carriage.
Shirley, who had been sleeping with her head on the table, slowly opened her eyes. A cold wind could be faintly heard howling outside the window, but the temperature inside the carriage was kept at a comfortable level by the engraved constant temperature Force Field Rune Array, so she didn't feel cold.
She rubbed her eyes and looked somewhat dazed at Freya across from her.
At that moment, Freya was holding a book with a brown cover, and on the table was a cup of pure white milk tea, gently rippling with the carriage's movements.
As if sensing Shirley's awakening, Freya closed the book and smiled.
"Awake? How do you feel?"
Shirley did not immediately respond to Freya's question; instead, she silently stared at her.
After a while, she finally spoke slowly, her tone carrying a hint of inquiry.
"How did I fall asleep just now?"
As a Third-Rank Wizard, Shirley's strength is undeniable; her robust physique allows her to stay awake for more than ten hours without issue.
Her own magical resistance can eliminate most low-level hypnotic potions and spells.
However, just now, she had unknowingly fallen asleep, which is almost equivalent to an ordinary person suddenly killing an Official Wizard with a knife—unbelievable.
In this carriage, there was no one else but Freya.
Of course, in response to Shirley's inquiry, Freya shrugged from the other side of the table and pretended not to know anything.
"You seemed very tired earlier and then fell asleep. Did something happen?"
"Tired?" Shirley was taken aback, recalling that she indeed felt mentally and physically exhausted while sleeping, as if she had been hypnotized.
Not knowing what she was thinking about, Shirley's brows furrowed slightly.
Her previously relaxed expression gradually turned serious.
After a long while, she raised her head and said apologetically, "I'm sorry. I think I understand what happened. I apologize for my tone earlier. Once we handle this matter, we will return to the family immediately."
"Hmm?" Noticing the change in Shirley's expression, Freya raised an eyebrow. "What happened? Is it serious? Do you need my help?"
"No." She shook her head. "That's an enemy of an adult; it's an internal conflict."
"Oh, then forget it."
Listen to Shirley's words. It seems to involve a benign competition among families.
However, this kind of competition generally does not involve life-threatening situations, but rather subtle suppression.
As an outsider, she is indeed not suitable to participate in it.
But regarding the malicious curse on Shirley, it seems to have brushed against the boundary.
Although Freya does not know the nature of that curse, the fact that it can compel her to use the Spirit power she has just researched suggests it may not be so simple.
Picking up the milk tea on the table, she took a gentle sip, letting the milky flavor fill her mouth.
After thinking for a moment, Freya spoke up.
“If you really encounter trouble, just let me know. In some special aspects, my identity can be quite convenient.”
Her spiritual aura appeared to be at the Second-Grade Peak level, and she did not overly expose herself in front of Shirley.
After all, growing from a First-Level Liquefaction to Third Peak in just over a decade, and even beginning to approach Dawn Level, would be too shocking.
This is a rare case that has never occurred in the history of wizards.
As for Freya's words, Shirley merely smiled and replied nonchalantly.
“No problem. If you really need help, I will definitely assist you.”
In her eyes, Freya still seemed to be that Crimson Eagle's Runes Department Wizard from back then.
Although the former Crimson Eagle has now transformed into the Blood Eagle Territory, and it is considered a large Wizard Organization in Sky City, it still does not compare to Klyent, a family that has been passed down since ancient times.
These ancient families have their own methods of inheritance, and their strength is often greater than that of wizards of the same level.
Moreover, their foundation is not something that a newly wealthy Wizard Organization can rival.
While Shirley's tone conveyed a meaning, Freya chose not to say much more.
The words had already been spoken; whether or not to proceed was up to Shirley's discretion.
The carriage moved swiftly forward, kicking up large clouds of snow behind it.
At this time, it was still morning, and there were not many pedestrians on the streets.
Through the carriage window, one could occasionally see one or two Black Crows quietly landing on rooftops, standing out starkly against the white city.
Soon, the carriage left the city and traveled along the road for another two hours.
Finally, it stopped in front of an abandoned wooden house.
Several Barbarian Sorcerers dressed in animal skins jumped out of the carriage first, kicking open the wooden door and then entering one after another.
Freya and Shirley got off the carriage.
Taking a gentle breath of cold air, Freya scanned her surroundings.
From the outside, this was merely an ordinary Pine Forest, with thick layers of snow burying the entire area in white. It was exceptionally tranquil.
However, this was merely an illusionary barrier; the real thing lay within.
It was only when Freya glanced at a nearby Pine that her eyes unconsciously narrowed.
Shirley stomped on the snow beneath her feet and looked at the somewhat unusual Freya, tilting her head slightly.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Freya smiled and replied. "You go ahead; I just discovered something interesting."
"Hmm?" Shirley looked at Freya in confusion, slightly furrowing her brows, but she didn't press further.
She nodded gently. "Alright. Just be careful; traces of Snow Beasts occasionally appear around here. Adult Snow Beasts are roughly at the level of a First-Level Wizard, and they tend to travel in packs, so it's best not to wander too far."
"I understand," Freya said with a smile.
Seeing Freya's agreement, Shirley didn't say anything more and headed directly toward the cabin.
As she watched Shirley's figure completely enter the cabin, Freya looked around before walking in the opposite direction.
Her dark gray Deerskin Boots crunched lightly on the snow.
Freya adjusted her thick coat and approached the Pine tree. She bent down and gently picked up a white Crystal.
Inside the Crystal was a thin black line that seemed to be moving occasionally, as if guiding something.
She shook it lightly, and the black line immediately straightened, pointing towards the interior of the Pine Forest.
Looking in the direction indicated by the black line, a green glow flashed in Freya's eyes, and then she walked over there.
Ten minutes later.
As she ventured deeper into Pine Forest, the two horse-drawn carriages on the road were completely out of sight.
Standing in the snowy Pine Forest, Freya took off her furry hood and listened intently.
In the tranquil Pine Forest, faint sounds of beastly roars could be heard, along with the distinctive sound of someone stepping on the snow nearby.
After waiting for a while, a figure completely shrouded in white animal skin appeared before Freya.
The animal skin seemed to be from a White Wolf. The fierce wolf head served as this person's hat, creating a very peculiar appearance.
After sizing up this strange figure, Freya gently spoke.
"Are you the one who lured me here?"
The figure raised his head, revealing a cold and chiseled face. His eyes were an unusual shade of Azure, slightly slanted like a wolf's.
Sparse Azure stubble connected to his chin, giving him a blend of coldness and wildness.
"My lord, may I ask if you are the one who broke Brad's Cursed Eye Spell?"
His voice was somewhat hoarse yet very magnetic. However, his tone was exceptionally cold.
In response to his question, Freya smiled slightly and nodded.
"Oh? You've found me so quickly? If it's that translucent Black Eye, then yes, it's me."
Upon hearing Freya's acknowledgment, the person Azure gazed deeply into Freya's eyes.
After a long moment, he raised a finger and gently waved it in front of Freya.
"One chance, just this once. I hope you won't interfere too much in our family's affairs; otherwise, the consequences are something you definitely wouldn't want to know."
Freya looked at the man's gestures with a sense of disbelief, as if he were trying too hard to appear cool.
She took a light breath, exhaling white vapor, and then shrugged helplessly.
"I'm a friend of Klyent, and Shirley is Klyent's subordinate. I can't just stand by and watch while my friend's subordinate dies in front of me, can I?"
"Is there really nothing to discuss?"
He slightly closed his eyes and then slowly opened them again, his voice becoming somewhat somber.
"I originally had no intention of killing anyone. Just remember my name: White Wolf. When that useless Klyent returns, I will explain everything to him!"
As his words fell, a faint sound emerged behind him as several large white wolves slowly stepped out.
Before long, more than a dozen giant wolves, each about two meters tall, surrounded Freya with fierce intent.
Sensing the powerful aura emanating from these giant wolves, Freya revealed a faint cold smile.
"Second Level, huh? It seems you've put in quite a bit of effort to cultivate so many Magical Pets."
She reached out her hand, and amidst the strong winds, a dark blue Cross Sword suddenly extended from her palm.
"What a pity."
As if receiving an order from the one called White Wolf Sorcerer, the dozen or so giant wolves howled and charged towards Freya one after another.
In no time, Freya's figure was engulfed by the pack of wolves.
Standing outside the wolf pack, White Wolf coldly observed everything, a faint scent of blood wafting from the group.
"It's over."
He murmured softly as he slowly turned away, as if the outcome had already been decided.
However, just as he took a step forward, his figure suddenly froze, and he turned back in disbelief to look behind him.
'Swish!!'
Several warm blood swords shot out from that direction, and then the two giant wolves at the back came crashing towards him.
'Bang!!!'
"Crash!!"
As he swiftly dodged, the giant wolf crashed into several thick Pines before finally stopping, leaving two deep black-red grooves in its wake.
For a moment, the flying snowflakes filled him with deep shock.
Over there, Freya swung her Cross Sword, effortlessly slicing through the giant wolf that relentlessly attacked her.
The scarlet blood splattered by the giant wolf turned the surrounding Pine Forest a faint red.
Suddenly, Freya calmly seized the head of a giant wolf with its mouth wide open to bite her, and lightly twisted her Cross Sword.
"Swish!!"
The wolf's head was directly severed from its body, and blood gushed out, pooling on the ground.
Immediately, Freya forcefully hurled the wolf's head towards another giant wolf behind her.
With a loud thud, that giant wolf was sent flying, crashing into two Pines before it whimpered and spat out mouthfuls of blood.
These Second Level giant wolves were being slaughtered by Freya as easily as ordinary livestock.
Before long, only three or four of the more than ten giant wolves remained alive, but they were covered in countless wounds.
"Damn it!!" Seeing his giant wolves reduced to this state, White Wolf let out a low growl.
A strong gray aura quickly enveloped his entire body.
In the gray halo, his entire body seemed to be rapidly growing, and his height, originally close to two meters, unexpectedly reached three meters in no time.
"Bang!"
The gray light dissipated.
At this moment, White Wolf's cold face had been replaced by a real wolf's head, and his explosive muscles were covered in thick white fur.
His red eyes fiercely stared at Freya, who was still slaughtering the giant wolf.
"Die!" His voice became extremely heavy.
He charged towards Freya on all fours like a wolf, his swift speed causing the surrounding snow to explode.
However, just as he was about to leap and pounce, suddenly a shadow loomed over him from above.
Then, a huge dark green hand came crashing down. (To be continued.)
