Chapter 388: 0

Looking at the massive circular crater, Freya's gaze sharpened slightly. 0

"Is that a volcano?" 0

"That's right." Shirley walked up beside her and said softly. "That is the largest volcano discovered in the City of Illusions so far, Anshabella Volcano. It's usually shrouded in White Mist, so it's rare to see it fully revealed like this." 0

"Oh." 0

She nodded and scanned the surroundings. 0

The sky was clear with not a single cloud, and under the Azure Sky, Freya could occasionally see the towering white spires on the Snow Mountain Range. 0

These towers were illuminated by the morning sunlight, emitting a faint white glow that gave off a sense of purity. 0

"It must be the Watchtower. It's impressive that they can be built at such heights," she exclaimed. 0

Although there didn't seem to be much from below, Freya knew that constructing anything at such altitudes on snowy mountains was no easy feat. 0

Moreover, there were so many of them; almost every distance had a white tower appearing. 0

"It's not too bad." Shirley took out some special fodder and Magic Stones from the vehicle to feed the two white horses. "We should reach our destination by noon." 0

"Mm." 0

After Freya responded, she fell silent, quietly appreciating the beautiful scenery of the Northern Snowfield. 0

There wasn't a hint of energy pollution in the air; it was all natural and pure. 0

In this environment, it is quite rare in the Blood Eagle Territory. Even though several Purification Towers stand tall at the headquarters filtering the air day and night, there is still a strange feeling in the atmosphere. 0

After a brief rest of more than ten minutes, the carriage set off again. 0

Six hours later. 0

On the snow-capped mountains where white and black intersect, two slender figures climbed slowly like ants, one in front of the other. 0

Occasionally, small stones rolled down beneath their feet. 0

Although the weather was exceptionally good, the cold wind swirling around still cut through everything like a sharp knife. 0

Freya adjusted her white fur hat, the cold wind coating her eyelashes and the strands of hair on her forehead with a thin layer of white. 0

She lowered her head to look down. 0

The base of the snow mountain had become indistinct; she could only see a faint black line extending deep into the mountains, which was the road they had traveled earlier. 0

Given the height of this snow mountain, they were currently only one-third of the way up. 0

As for Shirley, it would take at least another half hour to reach their destination. 0

The dry and cold temperature made Freya feel somewhat uncomfortable. Although she didn't feel cold due to the constant temperature Rune Array on her clothes, after all, the King Cobra was, in some sense, a cold-blooded creature. It was fine when they were at the base of the snow mountain, but now, as they ascended, the temperature dropped further, making even her somewhat unaccustomed to it. 0

At this height and with this wind force, without specialized flying equipment, it was impossible to safely reach higher ground using just magic. 0

Taking a light breath of cold air, Freya moved forward again. 0

Half an hour later, in front of a secluded cave in the snowy mountains. 0

Freya and Shirley's figures slowly appeared. 0

Shirley walked over to the cave wall and gently tapped it. 0

"Snap." 0

A faint white light flashed in her hand, and a soft hissing sound echoed from deep within the cave. 0

"Alright, let's go in," Shirley said lightly as she turned around upon hearing the sound. "This was originally an abandoned transit station of the family, but it has been repurposed by the adults into a private teleportation point." 0

Without saying a word, Freya nodded. 0

At this moment, they were not heading to Klyent's family home, but rather to his personal residence. 0

Freya had no objections to this; her purpose for coming was to access Klyent's library, and she had little interest in his family. 0

The two paused for a moment before walking toward the cave. 0

Not long after, the entire cave suddenly opened up. A faint sense of heat mixed with the smell of sulfur wafted out from within. 0

Not far from the entrance of the cave passage was a patch of bright red color, accompanied by the distant rumbling sound of flowing water. 0

There was actually a wide river of lava hidden here. 0

Shirley walked forward expressionlessly and lightly snapped her fingers. 0

In front of the originally empty cave, black stone slabs flew automatically over the river of lava, forming a dark aerial passage. 0

Once the stone slabs were completely fixed, Shirley stepped directly onto one and walked deeper inside. 0

Freya quickly followed behind her. 0

As they stood on the floating stone slabs, Freya glanced down. The surging lava river emitted a scorching heat that caused her hair to flutter slightly. To her surprise, she spotted a long red figure emerging from the lava, as if some creature was passing through the river. 0

Seeing that figure, Freya raised an eyebrow. 0

"Oh? There are actually Volcanic Worms living here?" 0

Not far away, Shirley could only faintly see a shadow. Retracting her gaze, Freya hurried to catch up. 0

After crossing the lava river and navigating through several intersecting passages, 0

twenty minutes later, the two finally arrived in front of a dilapidated Stone House. 0

Gently pushing open the door of the Stone House, they both stepped inside. 0

The Stone House contained nothing but a blue pool placed in the center. 0

The pool emitted a soft glow, its shimmering reflections dancing on the walls of the Stone House. 0

Upon seeing the pool, Freya immediately recognized it as the same type of Teleportation Pool from the previous Toy Room. She couldn't believe that Klyent, as a formal member, had actually moved this here. 0

Shirley approached the Teleportation Pool. She squinted her eyes slightly and took out a black Crystal from her waist, tossing it into the pool before murmuring an incantation. 0

The calm pond immediately rippled with small waves before settling down again. 0

"Alright, Coordinate, I've made the adjustments. You can just jump in; I have some matters to report at home, so I won't be joining you." 0

"Okay." 0

Freya stepped forward, just about to jump in when suddenly Shirley yanked her clothing, looking somewhat serious. 0

"This is the most secretive matter of the adults; I hope you won't let him down." 0

Upon hearing this, Freya instantly understood what Shirley meant and turned her head to reveal a slight smile. 0

"Of course, we are friends." 0

"Mm, remember your words." 0

Nodding gently, Shirley took a step back, her gaze calmly fixed on Freya. 0

After a moment's pause, the latter jumped into the pond with a splash. 0

The familiar feeling of pressure enveloped her. Freya opened her eyes and looked up; Shirley's figure was still by the edge of the pond, not leaving. 0

Beneath her, there was a dark abyss, exuding an inexplicable pull. 0

Soon, her figure was completely swallowed by the black hole. 0

"Whoosh—" 0

Blue water splashed everywhere as Freya suddenly emerged from the pool in a wooden room. 0

With a push of her arms, she lifted herself out of the water. 0

She clapped her hands together. The wet clothes immediately released large amounts of White Mist, and soon they became dry. 0

After a moment, she pushed open the door to the room. 0

A warm breeze gently lifted the hem of her clothes, and it was then that she realized she was in a vibrant valley filled with spring. 0

The valley was shrouded in a faint white mist. 0

As far as her eyes could see, the land was covered with yellow and white flowers, and a cobblestone path extended into the depths of the mist. 0

Freya glanced around, raising an eyebrow slightly. 0

"This feeling? Could it be an independent secret realm?" 0

After pondering for a moment, she gently raised her right hand, and a hint of green light flickered between her fingertips. 0

With a 'whoosh!', the light shot into the air. 0

After a while, she withdrew her finger, her expression showing a hint of surprise. 0

"I didn't expect this to be a secret realm. Klyent is so wealthy that he could rival some of the lesser Wizarding Organizations, and the area of this secret realm..." 0

Her earlier test of the spell had confirmed that the space in this valley was as vast as that formed by nature. 0

Thinking about all her possessions, Freya couldn't help but smile wryly. 0

"No wonder Shirley had that expression. Now that Klyent has granted me access, it means I can take any item from here. Such a level of trust." 0

She wasn't sure if Klyent was indifferent or simply trusted her. 0

If it were another wizard with impure intentions, they would have likely taken everything by now. 0

With a light sigh, she slowly stepped into the White Mist ahead along the cobblestone path beneath her feet. 0

The surrounding white mist rolled gently. Faintly, she could see a large black figure lurking within the mist, exuding a terrifying aura. Freya knew that was the guard set up by Klyent in the secret realm. 0

On either side of the cobblestones were pale yellow flowers, each with childlike smiling faces at their centers. They looked very cute. 0

However, Freya didn't feel curious enough to pick them; deep down, she sensed that these flowers were very dangerous. If she carelessly picked one, something bad might happen. 0

"I wonder where these ancient plants were dug up from." 0

Klyent's profession seemed more like that of an archaeologist or tomb raider than a wizard. He often lingered around various ancient ruins and tombs. 0

Moreover, he had even formed his own team for this purpose. 0

Before Freya met him, it seemed he had been doing this for many years, and one could imagine how terrifying the valuable items he had accumulated over those years must be. 0

Walking along the path, Freya couldn't help but maliciously think that if the passage to this secret realm were exposed, it would likely cause chaos in the Northern Snowfield or even the entire City of Illusions. 0

Lost in her thoughts, after about half an hour of walking, a solitary red wooden door suddenly appeared in her line of sight. 0

The door was slightly ajar, with no surrounding walls, as if it had been placed there out of thin air. 0

She approached the door and gently pushed it open. 0

Creak. 0

As the door opened, behind it lay a verdant grassland under the Azure Sky. 0

The wild wind stirred the grassland into ripples like waves in the sea, and in the distance, some massive creatures could be seen moving. 0

It was a herd of White Deer, their exaggerated antlers intertwining like two large trees. They were enormous, with dark yellow spots on their bodies, standing nearly three meters tall, leisurely grazing on the grass. 0

Next to the Herd of Deer stood a Black Building, seemingly haphazardly constructed from various metal sheets and mud. Two tall chimneys at the top occasionally puffed out gray-black smoke rings. 0

Surrounding the building were various windmills, their large blades slowly turning and producing a faint creaking sound. 0

Standing at the doorway, Freya squinted slightly; this strange building gave her an impression as if it were a living creature. 0

"Those two windows look like eyes, the red wooden door resembles a mouth, and those chimneys are like the antennae of a lying Black Bug. What an aesthetic." 0

She looked around; apart from this abrupt wooden door in front of her, there was nothing else. 0

After pondering for a moment, Freya stepped through the wooden door and immediately felt a fresh yet bitter taste. 0

Removing her velvet hat, she let the wind tousle her hair before walking directly toward the strange building. 0

Arriving at the door that resembled a bug's mouth, she reached out and grasped the yellow doorknob, giving it a gentle twist to push it open. 0

The sound of bells suddenly rang out, a clear chime from a colorful, exquisite wind chime hanging beside the door. 0

She looked up and noticed that in the center of the wind chime was a doll resembling a girl with black hair. 0

Dressed in a black robe and wearing black gloves, it seemed vaguely familiar. 0

"Isn't this doll Shirley?" she thought, gazing at it with a peculiar expression, unsure of what was on her mind. 0

Retracting her gaze, she pushed the door open. 0

Inside was a chaotic scene, with various bizarre items and enormous toys haphazardly piled around the room. She even spotted an old robe and a pair of sock covered in cobwebs hanging on a rack. 0

At the far end of the room, in what resembled a hall, she could faintly see a sofa and a fireplace, with walls adorned with all sorts of maps. 0

Most of these maps appeared to be blueprints of underground ruins. 0

The deep red floor was covered in white dust; she wondered how long Klyent had neglected to clean this place. 0

Freya navigated around a black-and-white sculpture that looked like a giant stone figure as she moved further inside. 0

On one side of the hall was a spiral staircase leading upstairs, also covered in dust and cobwebs. 0

Next to the staircase, there was a crooked wooden sign nailed to the handrail, with a long passage of text written on it. 0

“Private Library of Klyent, no entry for outsiders, especially Taboli!!” Freya unconsciously read the words on the sign. 0

“Taboli?” She paused slightly. “It seems to be the name of a parrot.” 0

However, upon seeing the library, Freya continued up the stairs. 0

‘Snap!’ 0

As her foot landed on the second floor, a layer of dust was stirred up. Freya glanced around and found that the area on the second floor was almost comparable to a small library. 0

The black bookshelves were neatly arranged, filled with all kinds of books, much cleaner and tidier than the first floor. 0

The windows on both sides of the library were open, and sunlight streamed into the room, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. 0

Just as Freya walked over to the nearest bookshelf and casually looked at the books there, suddenly, the left window darkened abruptly. 0

Then, a huge yellow eye appeared in front of Freya. (To be continued.) 0
