Chapter 400:
"Although it is much lower in level than the Wizarding World, this kind of repulsive force truly deserves to be called a complete world."
Freya stood by the window, while behind her, the majority of the demons appeared dazed as they sensed the terrifying aura that suddenly descended.
Some powerful demons instinctively felt a strong sense of crisis, as if the entire world was collapsing.
Indeed, from an external perspective, it did resemble a world in collapse.
In the sky, the pitch-black rain clouds were swirling violently, and dark holes intermittently erupted with silvery light.
A faint sound emanated from behind the dark hole.
Outside the castle, some low-level demons were covered in blood, painfully crawling on the ground, while higher-ranking Inferno Demons had their fiery magma suppressed beneath their skin, forming a peculiar gray substance.
After glancing at the tragic state of the demon army below the castle, Freya frowned and then extended her hand out of the window.
"Let me give you a hand!"
With a hiss, intricate red patterns suddenly illuminated on her dark red armor, quickly covering her entire body.
Her fiery red hair flew up as a chaotic and evil blood-colored mist rose from Freya's back, slowly coalescing into a massive demon clad in black and red armor, resembling a burrowing creature known as Phantom.
As soon as Phantom emerged, it instantly swung its two scorpion-like limbs toward Freya with great force.
"Hiss! I, Kalimdor, am immortal!!!"
As if already aware of Phantom's attack, Freya swiftly grabbed back, and the dark red armored glove suddenly ignited with a burst of blood-colored flames.
‘Bang!!!!’
The piercing explosion echoed loudly in the hall!!
“A dead demon should have the attitude of a dead demon!”
Freya's pupils gradually transformed into yellow slit pupils, resembling those of a reptile, while two black demonic horns extended from the sides of her head.
She suddenly tightened her grip on one of the Scorpion Claws.
‘Crack!!’
Phantom instantly transformed back into blood-red smoke. Freya then directly flung this smoke out, forcefully smashing it into the air.
It was like a red meteor rising from the ground, causing the air in the entire castle area to suddenly heat up, and then the dark hole above abruptly brightened.
‘Boom!!!’
A large expanse of Silver Light burst forth from the hole, with specks of green fluorescence slowly descending.
From the gaping hole that released silver light, a terrifying Snake Head, as large as the entire area, slowly emerged.
Its empty snake eyes scanned the surroundings, as if searching for something.
‘Snap’
A faint sound, seemingly coming from nowhere, suddenly echoed.
Suddenly, the snake's eyes focused on the towering castle in the area. This castle appeared as small as a black toothpick compared to the Snake Head.
At the window, Freya gazed at the terrifyingly massive serpent with admiration.
However, in her line of sight, she could only see a portion of the enormous Snake Head.
"So this is what I look like when I transform. Not too bad," she mused.
After a pause, she turned around to look at the demons behind her, their eyes completely vacant. These demons stood frozen in place, as if time had stopped for them.
"It seems this is the consequence of staring directly at a higher existence; even their souls are imprisoned."
Freya extended her hand. With a gentle flick, a crimson light instantly penetrated the forehead of the demoness named Diana, along with a brief message flowing into her.
"This should be enough; how things develop from here depends on you."
As soon as she finished speaking, her entire body transformed into countless red lights and flew toward King Cobra.
Hiss.
The red light completely merged into the forehead of the giant serpent, after which King Cobra's head slowly retracted.
Crack.
Another faint sound echoed. In the air, the hole that had just been opened suddenly closed up. The dissipating black clouds vanished completely.
It was as if it had all been an illusion.
In the castle hall, all the demons felt a jolt throughout their bodies, immediately awakening from their dazed state and looking around in confusion.
At the front, Diana's expression momentarily froze, and then a blood-red Goat Mark slowly appeared on her forehead.
...
In the infinite silver Passageway of time and space.
Freya's cheeks were covered with intricate red patterns, and her golden hair faintly shimmered with a hint of red.
She reached out to cover her right eye, and through the gap, one could vaguely see that the eye had yellow Slit Pupils.
"This is the World Power of the Abyss. In just a few years, it has reached a level that can corrupt the Tree of Life. It seems my avatar encountered something in the Abyss. Let's see."
As the avatar fully merged, a large amount of memories flooded into her mind; these were records from the avatar's time in the Abyss.
"Oh?" Freya, absorbing the memories, was slightly taken aback. "It actually killed a Low-Level Abyss Lord and unexpectedly obtained some chaotic rules of the Abyss World. Not bad."
Abyss Lords essentially embody World Rules but belong to a lower tier.
These beings do not intentionally maintain the entire world; they act based solely on their own thoughts. Some low-level Abyss Lords may not even be aware of their true nature and appear merely as higher-level ordinary demons.
Although the chaotic rules of the Abyss World are not particularly useful to Freya, they are still valuable for her research on the world.
The time spent absorbing the avatar was not long; soon, the red hue in her hair gradually faded, and at the same time, Freya felt herself filled with pure energy.
Suddenly, a mass of blood-red smoke coalesced from her mouth and nose, slowly forming into a creature resembling a burrowing worm, which was grasped in Freya's hand.
Freya curiously observed the creature that was struggling to escape her grip.
"Is this the soul energy of the Low-Level Abyss Lord? So weak."
For this entity that belonged to a state of chaos, she seemed to have no particular way to deal with it.
After thinking for a moment, Freya directly tossed it into her mouth, chewed it lightly a couple of times, and swallowed.
In her mouth, one could vaguely hear piercing screams.
"It has a bit of a spicy taste that isn't very pleasant. Now, what about the next avatar?"
After sensing for a moment, an exceptionally cold image of a world slowly emerged in Freya's mind.
It was a place filled with the Frozen Snowy Canyon, where the gorge was packed with dense crowds of people, and above them flew skeletal dragons.
The dragons had blue flames burning in their chests, and each time they descended to breathe fire, it resulted in large numbers of human deaths.
"It seems I might encounter some trouble in that world," Freya said with a hint of a smile. "Just right. I can feel that the barriers in that world are weaker than those in the Abyss World. This time I can try to delve deeper."
As she pondered how to go deeper, she confirmed the spatial coordinates of that world.
Half an hour later.
A faint Blue Light appeared in front of her, and Freya paused for a moment. Then she suddenly thrust her hand into it.
...
In the howling, cold valley, a strong scent of blood filled the air.
A large group of people clad in white armor shouted as they charged toward heaps of soldiers that were nothing but bones.
A strong figure at the front suddenly leaped up, his golden armor radiating beams of golden light. The massive two-handed sword in his hand struck down hard on a skeletal giant.
With a loud crack, the giant wielding a black hammer had its bones shattered instantly, turning into a pile of dry bones scattered on the ground.
Without even glancing at the fallen giant, the figure in golden armor sheathed his sword and suddenly raised his hand.
"For the Holy Light!! Glory!!"
With a loud bang, golden light swept across a large area of skeletons like sharp spikes. Anything touched by the golden light was instantly reduced to ashes, disappearing into the wind and snow.
Behind him, more people surged toward the black Skeleton Sea. Some special individuals were surrounded by dazzling flames.
"Long live Regmar!!"
"Charge! Annihilate these scum!"
"Strong Crossbow team! Aim at that big bird in the sky! Shoot it down for me!!"
"Swish!"
A torrent of black, fine sword rain suddenly shot into the air, piercing through a dragon that had lowered its body to unleash a breath of icy mist.
The massive dragon's body crashed against the stone wall beside the Gorge, and the blue flames burning in its chest immediately splashed out.
In this brutal battle, a huge shadow slowly rose from behind the Skeleton Sea.
"Roar!!"
A deep roar accompanied by the howling of fierce winds emerged from a thick cloud of rolling black smoke, as a gigantic three-headed dragon slowly charged out of the mist.
The dragon's six tattered wings created immense pressure with each flap.
Its hollow eye sockets burned with blue soul fire, coldly gazing down at the battle below.
Atop the middle head of the dragon, a figure cloaked in a black Robe, shrouded in darkness, raised both hands as if murmuring something.
"Karhus' humble mortals, feel the embrace of death descending upon you."
The figure lowered its hands, and purple Black Smoke descended, bringing with it a stench of decay mixed with tragic wails that slowly pressed toward the crowd.
Just as the smoke representing death was about to touch the front-line warriors, a green light gradually blossomed.
Behind the light stood a dignified and beautiful woman with closed eyes and hands placed on her chest. Endless vitality surged from her, dispersing the fog of death.
"It is the power of The Great Sage!!"
"The Great Sage is here!! Everyone!! Charge! Smash those damn skeletons' heads!"
"We fear nothing!!"
In an instant, the warriors were inspired by this overwhelming vitality, and the fierce battle intensified.
On one side of the mountains, Freya, dressed in a White Robe, calmly gazed at the distant Three-Headed Dragon. A green leaf mark slowly emerged on her forehead.
She held a white Staff in her hand, with a green crystal embedded at its tip, subtly entwined with Freya's life force.
After a moment, Freya gently touched the ground with her Staff.
'Sizzle'
At her feet, dense green veins formed a massive Green Symbol Array, with a large tree exuding an ancient and desolate aura at the center of the Rune Array.
As if sensing the life force on the mountaintop, a figure slightly raised its head. Two ghostly violet flames suddenly ignited in the hidden darkness of its skull.
The figure's hollow voice clearly transmitted through the spatial barrier to Freya's ears.
"Life Sage, Freya, we are originally of the same kind. Why do you insist on helping these mortals? Do you really believe in that ridiculous notion that life and death are opposites?"
Hearing his words, Freya's expression remained calm as she replied.
"You do not understand at all. I have an essential difference from you, and I do not represent any form of life."
"Ha, are you joking?" The figure's hollow voice was filled with sarcasm. "If you're serious about that, then go die! I will take your Life Mark and become the new god of this world!"
As soon as he finished speaking, terrifying giant beast skeletons slowly emerged from the darkness of the Skeleton Sea.
The bones of these giants were dark as if made of metal, reflecting a cold light, with intense azure flames burning in their chests, exuding an aura of absolute cold death.
A figure standing atop the Bone Dragon extended a hand towards Freya.
"Go, bring death to them!"
With a thunderous roar, the ground shook.
The beasts began to charge forward, each step crushing large groups of skeleton soldiers underfoot or sending them flying, like white waves rising in the darkness.
Seeing this scene, Freya shook her head slightly, and the green crystal at the tip of her Staff began to glow with a green light.
Meanwhile, the Rune Array that had been still beneath her feet suddenly started to surge, and the mark symbolizing the Tree of Life instantly enveloped the entire battlefield.
With a series of soft sounds, brown giant trees broke through the ground and stood tall above it.
The trunks of these giant trees slowly twisted, forming human-like faces, while their scattered branches moved like arms.
Suddenly, one ancient tree pulled its roots out of the ground, bringing up large clumps of soil.
The roots intertwined to form legs that could move freely. Then this giant tree warrior casually broke off a thick branch from its body and ran towards the skeletal giant beasts.
The battlefield had momentarily become the domain of these colossal creatures, and the weaker soldiers and skeletons could not approach at all.
The sound of rumbling echoed intermittently.
Ignoring the fierce clashes on the battlefield, a figure on the Bone Dragon surged through a large expanse of black mist directly towards Freya.
"Life and death shall belong to me at this moment!!"
The hollow roar filled the entire Dark Gorge.
Freya stood calmly in place, showing no reaction to the approaching figure.
As the figure reached out its hand, a chilling aura of death concentrated at its fingertips, ready to be unleashed, when suddenly the dark air thickened.
With a 'crack', a fissure opened up in the air.
Then, a gigantic hand emerged, large enough to cover the entire Gorge. (To be continued)
