“ Xiao Tang!” Lin Fan's eyes widened with fury, and without a second thought, he leaped into the abyss.
“Lin Fan!” Professor Zhang exclaimed, trying to stop him, but it was too late.
In the abyss, white mist enveloped everything, obscuring the bottom.
Lin Fan tightly held onto Xiao Tang as the wind howled past his ears, and his body plummeted rapidly.
With a thud, Lin Fan crashed onto a massive rock, the intense pain nearly causing him to lose consciousness.
“Cough cough…” Lin Fan struggled to get up from the ground and checked Xiao Tang for injuries. Seeing that she was merely frightened and unharmed, he let out a sigh of relief.
“What a stroke of luck…” Lin Fan patted his chest, still feeling shaken.
“Roar—”
A deafening roar suddenly echoed through the abyss, sending chills down Lin Fan's spine. He looked up to see a massive figure slowly emerging from the mist.
It was a gigantic Mutated Zombie, its body covered in rotting flesh, emitting a nauseating stench, with blood-red eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty light.
“Damn! How can there be such a huge Zombie?” Lin Fan cursed inwardly, knowing he was no match for this monster.
“Roar—”
The Mutated Zombie let out an angry roar and lunged at Lin Fan.
Holding onto Xiao Tang, Lin Fan desperately dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the Mutated Zombie's attack.
The Mutated Zombie missed its strike, becoming even more enraged. It swung its massive fists, attacking Lin Fan wildly, the tremendous force shattering the surrounding rocks.
Lin Fan dodged left and right, exhausted from the effort. He knew this couldn't go on; he had to find a way to escape quickly.
At that moment, Lin Fan suddenly spotted a narrow passage not far away. His eyes lit up as he hurriedly carried Xiao Tang and ran toward the passage.
"Roar—"
The Mutated Zombie relentlessly pursued him, pounding its enormous fists against the walls of the passage in an attempt to force Lin Fan out.
Inside the narrow passage, debris continued to fall as Lin Fan struggled to avoid it while holding Xiao Tang.
"Ha... ha..."
Lin Fan was panting heavily, sweat dripping down his forehead, but he dared not let his guard down. He knew that if the Mutated Zombie caught up to him, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Finally, Lin Fan saw the exit of the passage and felt a surge of hope as he quickened his pace.
However, just as he was about to burst out of the passage, a gigantic hand suddenly descended from above, slamming down in front of him and sealing off the exit completely.
Lin Fan looked up in despair and saw the Mutated Zombie standing at the exit, looking down at him with a cruel glint in its crimson eyes.
"It's over..."
Lin Fan's heart sank to the bottom; he knew he was truly trapped this time.
Suddenly, Xiao Tang struggled free from Lin Fan's arms. She lifted her head and looked at the Mutated Zombie before her. Her once innocent eyes now sparkled with a dazzling light.
" Xiao Tang...?" Lin Fan stared at Xiao Tang in surprise, unsure of what she intended to do.
Xiao Tang opened her small mouth and let out a sharp, piercing scream. A powerful force erupted from her petite body, creating an invisible shockwave that swept through the entire corridor.
"Boom—"
A deafening explosion echoed, and the entire corridor shook violently.
Lin Fan was startled by this sudden turn of events; he quickly covered his head and crouched down.
Once everything calmed down, Lin Fan raised his head in astonishment. He saw that the exit of the corridor had been blown open, with a huge gap allowing sunlight to stream in and illuminate the entire passage.
Meanwhile, the enormous Mutated Zombie lay on the ground, lifeless.
Lin Fan stared in disbelief at the scene before him. He couldn't believe that the world-destroying power he had just witnessed had come from Xiao Tang.
"Little... Xiao Tang..."
Lin Fan looked at Xiao Tang in disbelief. He couldn't reconcile the seemingly fragile little girl in front of him with the monster that had unleashed such devastating power moments ago.
Xiao Tang gazed at Lin Fan, her face breaking into an innocent smile. She reached out her small hand and gently tugged at Lin Fan's shirt, signaling him to leave this place.
Coming back to his senses, Lin Fan quickly took Xiao Tang's hand and hurriedly ran out of the corridor.
