Coming out of the restroom, Lee Kwang-soo was still at the door. Anna glanced at him and said, "Why haven't you left yet?"
"I came to use the restroom too, and I was waiting for you," Lee Kwang-soo replied.
"Why wait for me? If everyone sees us together, they won't know how to joke about it later," Anna said.
"Why care about what others say? Besides, you performed so well today; everyone saw it. You don't have to worry about what anyone thinks anymore."
"I'm too lazy to argue with you. Just hurry back to work," Anna quickened her pace.
Lee Kwang-soo followed Anna and said, "Weren't you the one who loved running after me when you were little?"
"You call it when I was little? Of course, I didn't know any better back then. And back then, didn't you only want to play with pretty sisters and ignore me?"
"Bringing that up again, you're really petty."
"I'm not petty; I just have a good memory."
They exchanged banter but quickly immersed themselves back into work. Lee Kwang-soo returned to the filming set to portray his careful giraffe character, while Anna remained in the shadows, preparing everything to present beautifully to the audience.
"Anna, please help organize all the props and return them to the prop room," Zhao PD instructed Anna.
"Okay."
"And by the way, you did a great job today. I'll let you take charge of the game segments more often in the future."
"Thank you, Zhao PD."
"Keep it up."
"Yes." Anna nodded happily and focused on sorting all the props.
EXO said their goodbyes to Brother Jae-seok and then came over to Task Force to bid farewell one by one. Park Chan-yeol approached Anna, who was busy organizing things with her head down. His voice was somewhat low and completely different from when they had met earlier. "The person earlier was you and Brother Kwang-soo, right?"
Anna was startled, looking up at the serious expression on Park Chan-yeol's face. Remembering what had just happened, she assumed he must already know. Feeling extremely awkward, she stuttered a bit while speaking and broke out in a cold sweat.
"I... I won't say anything, don't worry," Anna said, forcing a smile.
"You..." Park Chan-yeol was about to say something more when two people suddenly appeared behind him.
"Anna, we have to go. Just wanted to say goodbye," Sehun said with a grin, one hand resting on Chan-yeol's shoulder as he spoke to Anna.
"Goodbye, Anna!" Jin Jong-in waved and turned to leave.
"Goodbye~" Anna replied with a smile, wishing she could talk to Jin Jong-in a bit more, but felt it was still a bit awkward with Park Chan-yeol around.
"Come on, Brother Chan-yeol, we need to go. The manager is urging us," Sehun said, pulling at Chan-yeol's arm.
Chan-yeol glanced at Anna and said, "Goodbye."
"Goodbye~"
The group finally got into the van and left. Watching the vehicle disappear from sight, Anna felt her heart finally relax. After all, she wouldn't tell anyone about what she saw today; it surely wouldn't cause any trouble for Park Chan-yeol. She thought this way and continued with her work.
...
The girl's footsteps were slow as she walked to the roadside. A black Imported Mercedes Sedan was quietly waiting there. She gently wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes with her delicate hand and arranged her long, smooth, flaxen curls—beautiful and captivating.
The night was already very quiet. Although the sound of her high heels was soft, it still lightly tapped against the night air. The exquisite dress accentuated her flawless figure.
She opened the car door and sat down, shutting herself off from another world. As the car slowly started moving, streetlights flickered by like a cycle of reincarnation.
"You went to see him again?"
"I didn't make you wait for me."
"Going to see him is just like my choice to wait here for you; it's all because 'I want to.' Just like how the lights will turn on at night—it's a choice—and you will eventually get into my car; that is fate."
The girl smiled coldly and said, "Yes, but when the sun comes out, the lights will go out, just like how passengers get off when the vehicle reaches its destination. Your waiting is the same; it will never have meaning."
"Waiting may be meaningless. But how would we know if we don't wait? Maybe something interesting will happen if we keep waiting. Haven't we always been like this? If we can't succeed, then it's destruction."
"You are insane!"
"Who says I'm not? I lost what I should have had when I met you. You are the same; we are both alike."
"Don't compare me to you; it makes me feel sick."
"Is that so? Well, I find it quite amusing."
"Stop the car! I want to get out."
"One day, you will admit that you and I are the same kind of people."
"Shut up."
"Alright, I won't say anything more. As usual, I'll take you home."
The car fell silent as it disappeared at the end of the road. The streetlights were bright, yet they could never illuminate the dark corners, creating a sense of unease.
