Kwang-soo's expression had already changed dramatically. Miss Choi looked at him in confusion and asked, "What's wrong?"
Kwang-soo replied, "You didn't lose your phone on the island."
Miss Choi hesitated for a moment, then smiled and said, "Oh, I realized my phone was in the compartment when I got back to my room."
Kwang-soo frowned in disbelief and said, "Then why didn't you say anything?"
Seeing that Kwang-soo was a bit angry, Miss Choi appeared indifferent and casually said, "I forgot."
Kwang-soo let out a long sigh, stood up, and the noise from the chair was a bit loud, causing the blonde-haired, blue-eyed couple nearby to glance over.
Miss Choi looked up at Kwang-soo. He said, "I'm sorry, but I think this is it. I'm going back now. Goodbye." With that, Kwang-soo turned and left the restaurant.
Miss Choi placed money on the table, watching his retreating figure with a cold smirk before picking up her bag and chasing after him.
"Brother!" Miss Choi called out to Lee Kwang-soo, who stopped in his tracks.
Miss Choi ran in front of Kwang-soo, feeling somewhat embarrassed and angry for being left like this for the first time.
"Brother Kwang-soo, are you angry with me because of Miss Anna?" Miss Choi asked.
"No, you're wrong. No matter who it is today, I will be angry. Miss Choi, if you want others to truly like you, you need to learn to respect them first," Lee Kwang-soo said as he walked past Miss Choi and continued toward the hotel.
"You! You said, do you like that Anna Zheng?" Miss Choi shouted.
Kwang-soo paused for a moment and replied, "No, not at the moment. If you keep behaving like this, that might change." After saying this, he left without looking back.
Miss Choi was utterly devastated, forced to laugh coldly. She still believed she had done nothing wrong; she was just trying to approach someone she liked in her own way while distancing herself from what she disliked.
Back at the inn, Kwang-soo dialed Anna's phone again, but it remained unanswered. The rain outside began to pour heavily again. He went to Anna's door and knocked, but there was no response. Instead, the neighbor Park Soo Eun opened the door.
"She hasn't come back yet. I've called so many times, but no one answered," Park Soo Eun said.
Kwang-soo nodded and said, "Alright, sorry for bothering you, Sook-eun. Get some rest."
Soaked through and battered by the sea breeze and waves, Anna felt as if she were on the brink of exhaustion. By the time she reached the island, it was already evening. All she wanted was to find her phone quickly and leave; otherwise, she would miss her flight tomorrow.
There were very few people left on the island. As soon as she stepped onto the beach, Anna felt a bit lightheaded; her joints ached from the long journey—perhaps it was due to the rough ride.
"How did you get back?"
Fortunately, she heard a familiar voice. Looking over, she saw the guide Dong Dong who was about to leave.
Great! Anna felt extremely happy inside and said, "Dong Dong, could you please help me ask if anyone has seen a phone?"
Dong Dong told his companion to wait on the speedboat, so he followed Anna. However, after asking everyone on the island, they all said they hadn't seen her.
"Your complexion doesn't look good. Why don't you head back first? The wind and rain will come soon, and you won't be able to return then," Dong Dong said.
Anna looked at the weather outside and thought about the people still waiting for Dong Dong. She replied, "You go ahead; I'll keep looking."
Seeing that she had no intention of changing her mind, Dong Dong could only say goodbye and left after giving her a few reminders.
Anna wandered aimlessly around the island, searching every place she thought she might have visited today. She felt her steps growing heavier and wanted to call back home, but at that moment, the signal on the island began to fade away. Exhausted, she sat down on the beach, leaning back into the sand, and slowly lost consciousness.
