Thirsty, like a fish scorched by the blazing sun. Even the saliva in her mouth had vanished, and taking a breath felt completely parched.
At that moment, she felt a stream of warmth flowing into her mouth, as if she had finally come back to life. Instinctively, Anna reached out for more, desperately sucking at the flow of water, but she felt frustrated by the gradually disappearing source.
Drowsily opening her eyes, she saw an enlarged face before her, and realized that what she was sucking on was the lips of this person in front of her.
Her mind suddenly cleared a bit. Anna pushed him away forcefully and struggled to sit up, only to discover that she was in a room and her clothes were intact; nothing had happened.
Looking at the man again, one might think he was an elderly person due to his silver hair, but upon closer inspection, his face appeared to be around thirty years old, with distinct facial features and sharp lines. He had a cold demeanor and an aura that inspired an inexplicable sense of reverence.
Reverence? Yes, Anna couldn't understand why she would use such a word for this relatively young man.
"Who are you?" Anna asked in confusion, eyeing him warily as her head still throbbed slightly.
The man smiled wickedly and said, "You fainted on the beach yesterday. I brought you here."
Anna glanced at the medicine bowl in his hand and realized he had just been feeding her medicine. She felt a bit embarrassed.
"Thank you," Anna said.
The man set down the medicine bowl and stood up. It was then that Anna noticed it was already bright outside. This was bad; she picked up her phone and saw it was already past seven o'clock. Since six o'clock, there had been numerous calls from the running man crew, with Lee Kwang-soo having called more than ten times.
She quickly returned a call to Miao PD.
"Anna, it's great that you finally answered the phone."
Before Anna could speak, Miao PD continued.
"Miao PD, I'm sorry, my phone..." Anna said, disappointment evident in her voice.
"It's okay, Anna. It was Miss Choi who made a mistake. The phone wasn't lost. Come back quickly," Miao PD reassured her.
Hearing this, Anna first felt a sense of relief, but instantly, all the grievances she had endured throughout the night surged up like a tidal wave, and tears nearly spilled from her eyes. She bit her lip, desperately trying to hold them back.
With a forced smile, she said, "Oh, really? That's great..."
"Anna, Miss Choi also feels very sorry about this. So..." Miao PD sighed.
"Yes, I understand. By the way, Miao PD, I might miss the flight. What should I do?" Anna covered her eyes, striving to make her voice sound normal, but the slight tremor was impossible to hide.
"That's fine. Just take the next flight over. Alright, we need to board now, so I can't talk for long. See you in Beijing," Miao PD said.
"Okay, goodbye."
The busy tone came from the phone as Anna hugged her knees and curled up her body. Finally unable to hold back any longer, she cried out loud, releasing all her pent-up grievances. She felt foolish for having stumbled around like an idiot, searching and enduring pain only to end up with a trivial misunderstanding.
How silly of you, Anna Zheng.
Everything came out of nowhere, leaving no trace behind. It would be good to know where I offended Miss Choi.
But, just as Sister Park said, after crying and venting, one still needs to find calmness because all grievances can be endured compared to the love Anna has for the show Running Man. It is something that must be endured.
Getting up from the bed, feeling slightly dizzy, Anna adjusted for a moment before opening her eyes again.
"Are you okay?" the man asked, his tone devoid of any emotion, yet it felt like a casual greeting between long-time friends.
"I'm fine," Anna replied. "I have to go now. Thank you."
The man smiled lightly.
Anna boarded the speedboat, closed her eyes, hoping that the journey would be smooth. She took out a tissue to wipe her face. Despite the noisy engine, Anna still dozed off.
It wasn't until the boatman patted her shoulder that she woke up.
After packing her things at the hotel and arriving at the airport, she bought the next flight to Beijing. Eating something felt tasteless; Anna thought her state was truly terrible, like an invisible person drifting in this space.
The boarding announcement echoed in the airport hall. Pulling her suitcase towards the gate, suddenly, through the reflection on a glass panel, she saw a silver-haired figure standing there. Startled, Anna turned around quickly, but apart from the bustling crowd, there was nothing there. When she turned back again, the figure in the glass had vanished.
Anna chuckled to herself with self-deprecation; it seemed even hallucinations were appearing now.
