At that moment, a familiar voice came from next door. Anna could tell that it was definitely Miss Choi. She had no intention of eavesdropping, yet somehow found herself doing just that.
"What? ... What are you talking about? ... It's impossible! How could my dad ... You're lying, everything was fine before ... Mom ...? How could this happen ... how could this happen ..." The conversation soon turned into sobs.
Anna felt a bit strange; what could possibly make the self-important Miss Choi cry like this?
Anna stepped out, wanting to knock on the door of the stall where Miss Choi was, but as she raised her hand, she hesitated for a moment and ultimately lowered it, deciding to leave. Just as she turned around, the door behind her swung open. Anna quickly turned back and locked eyes with Miss Choi, whose makeup was now smudged from crying. The atmosphere became extremely awkward.
Miss Choi was first surprised, then slowly furrowed her brows and asked, "What are you doing here? Did you hear everything?"
"I..." Anna was momentarily at a loss for words and said, "I didn't mean to; are you okay?"
Miss Choi scoffed, wiped away her tears from the corners of her eyes, put on her sunglasses, and said, "You don't need to pretend to be kind here."
After saying that, she strode out of the restroom, and Anna followed her.
Seeing Lee Kwang-soo waiting at the door with Anna's suitcase, Miss Choi suddenly froze in her tracks. She sneered, glanced at Kwang-soo, then looked back at Anna standing there, bit her lip, and quickly walked away.
"What's wrong with her?" Lee Kwang-soo asked.
Anna knew that this situation would never be explained clearly now. Feeling frustrated, she took the suitcase and said, "I don't know."
As they walked, Anna couldn't help but voice her curiosity, asking Kwang-soo, "Brother Kwangsoo, don't you know that Miss Choi likes you?"
Kwang-soo smiled awkwardly and nodded, saying, "Yes, Miss Choi has indeed mentioned this to me."
Anna let out a long sigh and said, "You really have no idea how much I've suffered because of this."
"What?" Kwang-soo asked.
Anna thought for a moment; it was better not to bring up those matters with Kwang-soo. She could tell that Miss Choi genuinely liked him. Shaking her head, she said, "It's nothing. Forget it; it's all in the past now."
As they reached the door, Anna was surprised to see Andy come to pick her up; he hadn't mentioned it during their earlier phone call. Andy smiled and greeted Kwang-soo.
"Brother Kwangsoo."
The tailored suit and luxury car were such a stark contrast to her impression of Andy that Lee Kwang-soo stared for a while before smiling and saying, "Andy? Is that you?"
Andy nodded.
Kwang-soo looked at Andy in astonishment, unable to close his mouth, and said, "Wow, you've really grown up! You're so handsome now."
Andy chuckled and replied, "Brother Kwangsoo, you're not bad yourself. And I should thank you for taking care of Miss Anna during this time."
"Hey~ you're still calling me by my name instead of 'sister' like before," Kwang-soo teased.
Andy smiled lightly.
Kwang-soo said to Anna, "Since Andy has come to pick you up, I'll take my leave. Let's all have dinner together another day."
Kwang-soo bid farewell and got into his car.
"How did you get here? You didn't mention it on the phone just now," Anna asked Andy, who was driving.
"I wanted to give you a surprise," Andy replied with a smile.
Anna smiled back, feeling reassured.
Andy glanced at Anna and asked, "How has Miss Anna been these past few days?"
Anna felt a slight panic inside; the events of the past few days had been more tumultuous than anything she had experienced in over twenty years. Where should she start? From Miss Choi? From Park Chan-yeol? Or from that elusive Silver-Haired Man, Hogga? No matter which incident she considered, she didn't know how to describe the absurdity of it all.
Seeing Anna lost in thought and silent, Andy asked, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Anna lowered her head and shook it, saying, "It's nothing."
After a moment of silence, Andy raised the corner of his mouth and said, "Is that so? Then that's good."
