The reason he said this was mainly because he was afraid explaining it to Yue Lingwei would be too troublesome. She didn't understand the Spirit Sect or Blood Sect, and even if Ye Tian told her that the battle with the Left Sword Star was about the power of fusion, she wouldn't grasp it. She would only interpret it as Ye Tian, with the strength of a Four-Stage Martial Artist, having defeated a Martial Unity Expert, which would inevitably lead to a lengthy explanation or raise suspicions.
After all, not everyone is as open-minded as Xuanyuan Changfeng; most people find it hard to accept different sects.

After admiring it for a moment, Ye Tian returned with the long sword in hand.
When he got back to their resting place, Yue Lingwei was staring blankly at the sky, lost in thought.
Upon seeing Ye Tian return with Left Sword Star's long sword in hand, Yue Lingwei was once again puzzled.
"Isn't this...?"
"That's right, it's Left Sword Star's sword. He probably forgot to take it while fleeing in a hurry..." Ye Tian said, not even believing his own words.
"Just kidding," he quickly added. "He relied on this long sword during his final counterattack. When he threw the sword, it unleashed incredible power; he managed to escape thanks to its might."
Yue Lingwei took the long sword from Ye Tian and examined it closely for a while. Ultimately, she didn't dwell on any further questions, and the two set off again.
After an hour of rest, Yue Lingwei's strength had noticeably recovered somewhat. Although their pace was still slow, it was definitely much faster than before.
When they returned to the inn, it was already afternoon. The reason everyone did not go out to search for the two was that Ye Tian had given instructions before leaving, so no one took it to heart.
"Brothers," Yue Lingwei said with a smile upon seeing the disciples of Falling Cloud Pavilion, pretending that everything was fine.

Ye Tian nodded, then changed the subject. "I'm starving; have you all eaten?"
"Who has the mood to eat? We're all waiting for you to come back." Cold Moon shot a glance at Ye Tian. Although Ye Tian had given some instructions before leaving, everyone still felt a bit worried.
"Then let's hurry up and eat, come on!" Ye Tian sat down and poured himself some tea.
"This sword is really not bad." Wine Kid pushed through the crowd and came back to Ye Tian, constantly mumbling about how great the long sword was.
Ye Tianxin chuckled inwardly; he could see through Wine Kid's intentions. However, he really couldn't give the long sword to him because Ye Tian had already decided who its owner would be.
"Wine Kid, this long sword isn't suitable for you." Yun'er also noticed Wine Kid's intentions but mistakenly thought that Ye Tian was reluctant to give it to him, so she quickly stepped in to help diffuse the situation.
"Why isn't it suitable for me? Who would be suitable then? You?" Wine Kid had no pity for Yun'er, as it was too obvious that she liked Ye Tian. He never valued things he couldn't have.
Wine Kid bit back like a mad dog, but everyone understood his character, so they weren't angry and let him joke around for a while.
However, the long sword naturally couldn't be given to him. In the end, Ye Tian presented the long sword to Cold Moon, which he had already decided on during his journey back.
Firstly, Cold Moon's temperament matched the long sword perfectly; secondly, the sword's aura suited Cold Moon even more...
