"No, no, no, it's not Brother Bai... it's Big Brother Bai." Luo Shanshan almost blurted out the words "Brother Bai," which would have likely provoked even more disdain.
"Not him? Then who?" Yun'er asked coldly, her tone and expression carrying a murderous intent that was strikingly similar to Ye Tian's.
"It's Qiu Ziming, the son of Qiu Tiande," Luo Shanshan quickly replied, hoping desperately that Ye Tian and Yun'er would be frightened by the mention of Qiu Tiande's name.
Upon hearing the name of their revered master, the other Black-Clad Assassins immediately reacted. How could this woman casually mention the name of someone they held in such high regard? They shouted in unison, "Bitch, watch your mouth!"
"Say what you should say, but don't speak recklessly!"
"Is the master's name something you can just throw around?"
This last remark came from the assassin who had been mocked by Wildcat earlier. After he spoke, the others shot him looks filled with disappointment. Although everyone knew that Qiu Ziming was behind the scenes, his words made it seem like a direct admission.
Of course, whether he admitted it or not made no difference to Ye Tian. The enmity between him and Qiu Ziming had long been established; it seemed that only one side could perish for their conflict to be resolved, so he didn't care about adding this new grudge.
However, Bai Kuo surprised Ye Tian. From Luo Shanshan's desperate attempts to conceal things, it became clear that the assassination of Yun'er likely had a significant connection to Bai Kuo.
"What are you all shouting at me for, a weak woman? If you have the ability, go kill him!" Luo Shanshan felt quite displeased by the scolding from the Black-Clad Assassins. Usually, when she was with Bai Kuo, she felt superior to these people. After being reprimanded, she immediately changed her demeanor, resembling those concubines who were sold into servitude.
"Heh heh, of course we don't have that ability. Unlike you, who can just spread your legs and gain favor," one Black-Clad Assassin mockingly sneered.
Ye Tian frowned upon hearing this; it was indeed too harsh and unrelenting.
However, Luo Shanshan did not feel anything was wrong. Instead, she coldly laughed and said, "I enjoy it; maybe one day I’ll even ride on your father's back and make you call me 'Mommy'."
Hearing this, Ye Tian's brows furrowed even tighter. In the past, he thought Luo Shanshan simply disliked Duan Liu, but today it seemed that this woman was nothing short of a vixen!
"Shut up, you can leave now." Ye Tian interrupted their verbal battle and pointed at the Black-Clad Assassin wielding a dagger.
The latter was taken aback, clearly not understanding what Ye Tian meant, so he turned to his other brothers, hoping to get some explanation from them.
"Third Brother, you should go," one of the older members among the Black-Clad Assassins sighed. He understood that Ye Tian wanted to let Third Brother go in order to show off to Qiu Ziming, but as for the others, no one would leave alive today.
"I won't go." The Black-Clad Assassin known as Third Brother shook his head; he was a man of loyalty.
Ye Tian raised an eyebrow and glanced at him. "You only have one chance to decide."
Under Ye Tian's cold, piercing gaze, Third Brother shivered all over and instinctively took a step back. The bravado he had moments ago vanished, and he quickly nodded repeatedly, saying, "I'll go, I'll go right now."
With that, he turned to leave.
However, Ye Tian called out to him: "I said you only have one chance to decide."
"I've decided; I'm leaving. I'm leaving right now." The Black-Clad Assassin was about to take a step forward again.
"Too late; you've already exhausted your opportunity."
Ye Tian spoke calmly, but suddenly made his move. A flash of golden light appeared, and before the other could react, he was sent flying.
A spray of blood arced beautifully through the air. After landing, Third Brother struggled a couple of times but ultimately could not get back up.
This time, Ye Tian did not use his full strength, as he wanted to leave him with a complete corpse.
The reason for this was that he still valued their brotherhood to some extent, but the reason he had to kill him was that he ultimately abandoned that brotherhood.
Just like Bai Kuo towards Duan Liu, it was absolutely unforgivable!
Third Brother died instantly, which made the few assassins who had already seen no hope become furious. Since they were destined to die anyway, they might as well fight back fiercely!
"Charge! Avenge Third Brother!" shouted the older Black-Clad Assassin. Unlike Bai Kuo, he truly was the first to rush out after shouting.
Ye Tian felt no pity for them. He had tasted the bitter fruit of being merciful to enemies when he was only a Four-Stage Martial Artist, so he acted without hesitation.
Bang!
Golden light dispersed an incoming blade aura, and then with another palm strike, a blood hole immediately appeared in the chest of the Black-Clad Assassin at the front, turning his entire chest into a bloody mess.
This group of assassins, along with Bai Kuo and Luo Shanshan, numbered only seven in total. At the beginning, Ye Tian had already killed two of them, and now he had slain two more. So aside from Bai and Luo, only two remained.
Their strength was roughly around Four-Stage Martial Artist level, which seemed not too far off from Ye Tian's Seven-Stage Martial Mastery. However, in actual combat, they found that under Ye Tian's hands, they couldn't even last a single round.
Bang bang!
With two muffled sounds, it could be said that without breaking a sweat, Ye Tian successfully dealt with these two as well.
Thud, thud...
The two bodies fell to the ground with a dull thud.
Then the scene fell into dead silence. Luo Shanshan and Bai Kuo stared in shock at what had just happened. In the blink of an eye, Ye Tian had killed three Four-Stage Martial Artists. His strength was far more terrifying than they had imagined.
Moreover, there were strict rules within the Cloud Sea Sect. It was absolutely unforgivable for disciples to kill each other, especially since those individuals were disciples of Duan Tiande.
Who was Duan Tiande?
He was the esteemed Cloud Pavilion Master, responsible for the rewards and punishments within the Cloud Sea Sect. If he found out about this, even Xuanyuan Changfeng would not be able to protect Ye Tian's life.
However, none of this seemed to intimidate Ye Tian in the slightest. When he acted, he didn't even blink. Five lives were extinguished just like that, and he wouldn't mind adding two more.
"Ye Tian... please don't kill us!" Luo Shanshan stared at the bodies for a long time, finally coming to her senses. She immediately began to plead for mercy.
"Brother Bai, quickly plead for us! Ye Tian values friendship; as long as we admit our mistakes, he definitely won't harm us..."
"Brother Bai, what are you still doing? Hurry up..."
Luo Shanshan practically crawled to Bai Kuo's side, disregarding formalities as she called out "Brother Bai" repeatedly, trying to pull him down to kneel.
At first, Bai Kuo stood firm, looking directly at Ye Tian as if he had nothing to feel guilty about.
But gradually, he realized that there was nothing but killing intent in Ye Tian's eyes. Fear began to creep in because he understood who Ye Tian was and what he had done.
"Go ahead." Bai Kuo closed his eyes, furrowing his brow and taking a deep breath.
Ye Tian walked slowly in front of Bai Kuo, taking a few glances before coldly saying, "Is there anything else you want to say, or anything you need to explain?"
"No," Bai Kuo's response came almost without any consideration, firm and decisive.
Upon hearing this, Luo Shanshan suddenly burst into tears. In the end, Bai Kuo didn't even care about her. She had thought that Bai Kuo would plead for her, and then she would accompany him to the underworld. But now it seemed that everything was just a manipulation.
"Bai Kuo, did you never..."
Before Luo Shanshan could finish her sentence, Bai Kuo interrupted her sharply, "Bitch, do you think I would like someone like you?"
As soon as those words left his mouth, even Ye Tian frowned deeply, not expecting that Bai Kuo not only betrayed his brother but was also such a person!
"You're worse than a pig or a dog!"
Although Yun'er was very disgusted by Luo Shanshan, she couldn't suppress the anger in her heart at that moment. She stepped forward and slapped Bai Kuo across the face, leaving five distinct marks.
After being hit, Bai Kuo let out a crazy laugh, as if expressing his final emotions.
"Yun'er, do you think Ye Tian will be with you for life? Hahaha, you're too naive. All men are the same; they easily lose interest. I advise you to be careful in the future; otherwise, you might end up sold to a brothel and counting money for others."
Smack!
Yun'er slapped him again with such force that it nearly shattered Bai Kuo's skull.
Pfft!
A mouthful of fresh blood spewed out, mixed with broken teeth.
"Hahaha, have I hit a sore spot?" Bai Kuo, though feeling dizzy, did not miss the opportunity to attack verbally. He understood that he had no chance of survival, so he aimed to inflict the most hurtful words on Yun'er before his end.
"Ask yourself honestly, do you really have faith in him?" Bai Kuo fixed his bloodshot eyes on Yun'er and continued, "When a person is about to die, their words become sincere. Think carefully!"
"You’re asking for death!" Yun'er squeezed out these words through clenched teeth. Her inherent fierceness was no less than Ye Tian's. If Bai Kuo were not an old friend, she would have torn him apart without hesitation.
"That's right, I am asking for death. Go ahead and kill me," Bai Kuo said with a gloomy smile, as if dancing wildly for the last time.
"Then I will..."
Swish!
Just as Yun'er was halfway through her sentence, a sharp sound suddenly came from beside her. Instinctively, she dodged to the side, and a cold light grazed her neck.
Turning her head, she saw Luo Shanshan attacking.
The strike failed, and Luo Shanshan began to laugh maniacally.
"Brother Bai, no matter how you treat me, I wish I could do something for you. This vile woman dared to strike you; although I can't kill her, I will haunt her as a ghost and ensure she never finds peace!" Luo Shanshan cackled eerily, her voice resembling the mournful cries of an owl at night, truly chilling.
