Shiva tightly gripped the reins, riding "Lightning" through the winding mountain roads, heading towards Patalliro. At the beginning, he passed through the rice fields and farmland surrounding Ruishi City, all full of vitality and lush greenery. The farmers in the rice fields would stop their work and look at him with surprise and curiosity as he sped by. Shiva nodded slightly, silently praying for their safety, hoping they wouldn't get caught up in the impending storm.
Soon, he arrived in a forested area, with towering trees and dappled shadows. The air here carried a damp and decaying smell, occasionally accompanied by the distant roars of wild beasts and the songs of birds. Shiva felt his mind calm slightly, but he knew he couldn't let his guard down.
After passing through the forest, there is a rugged mountain road with cliffs on both sides, where one could easily fall if not careful. Occasionally, caravans and pedestrians pass by, all with a hurried and serious demeanor. When they see Shiva riding "Lightning" speeding by, they can't help but glance sideways, seemingly guessing his identity and purpose.
Finally, after crossing the last mountain peak, Shiva sees the distant outline of Patalliro City. The city is surrounded by a thick stone wall, and even from this distance, one can feel the prosperity and vitality emanating from there, but also accompanied by a subtle and imperceptible tension and crisis.
Shiva took a deep breath, with a determination in his heart. He knew that this city would be the stage for his destiny to turn, as well as the crucial place for him to protect the mysterious sacred object and to confront the knights of the temple. "Lightning" seemed to sense his master's determination and let out a long neigh, accelerating towards Patalliro.
Shiva silently prayed in his heart, hoping to find those potential allies, to successfully complete the mission, and also hoping that his companions could safely get through all of this. As "Lightning" got closer and closer to the city, Shiva felt himself getting closer and closer to that unknown and dangerous future.
After several days of arduous travel, Shiva felt physically and mentally exhausted, but his determination towards his goal remained unwavering. He was getting closer and closer to Patalliro, and the distant firelight had already illuminated the night sky, as if promising hope and abundance in the future.
Along the way, he saw many nomads and caravans, their cargo mostly consisting of camels and donkeys, pulling various goods and livestock, appearing quite busy. Although they were strangers to each other, in this distant land, an unspoken connection seemed to bring them together.
Shiva found an empty space, tied "Lightning" to a tree, fed it some food and water, and then walked towards the gathering place of these nomads and merchants. A temporary small market had formed here, where people of all kinds were exchanging and trading, like a miniature version of Patalliro City.
He walked past rows of stalls filled with various goods, including spices, textiles, jewelry, and some very peculiar-looking items. He couldn't help but think that these items might all come from distant foreign lands, symbolizing the diversity and wealth of Patalliro, this great city.
However, Shiva did not stop to trade or make purchases. His gaze was more focused on the faces and behaviors of the group. He was looking for potential allies or sources of information, and also observing for any signs of the Temple Knights.
Not far away, he saw several men talking in hushed tones, one of them holding a parchment map, seemingly discussing something important. There was also an old man sitting on a small carpet covered in runes, occasionally approached by people seeking advice, buying protective amulets, or seeking predictions for the future.
Shiva felt a slight relief from the tension and pressure of the past few days in this small market. He casually strolled past various stalls, some selling food, some selling fabrics, and even some selling weapons and armor. The colorful array of goods and the bustling crowd in front of him made him feel unusually relaxed.
At that moment, he arrived at a stall selling various jewelry. The stall displayed various gold and silver jewelry, gemstone rings, and necklaces, all looking very exquisite. The stall owner was a middle-aged man, and his eyes immediately noticed the unique necklace hanging around Shiva's neck.
"Friend, your necklace is very unusual," the stall owner said, a hint of interest flashing in his eyes. "I have some very special jewelry, and if you're willing, I'd like to make an exchange with you."
Shiva listened, smiled slightly, but then shook his head. "This necklace holds a very special meaning for me, it's not meant for exchange."
The stall owner's mouth drew a bright smile after hearing Shiva's response, showing satisfaction and approval.
"Haha, this is exactly what a good owner of jewelry should be! They won't easily abandon what they truly cherish," he said excitedly, filled with sincere passion.
"I am called Bratislava, a nomadic merchant here. Nice to meet you," Bratislava extended a rough but warm hand.
Shiva smiled slightly and responded kindly, "I am Shiva, currently on an important mission passing through this area."
Their hands were tightly clasped together, and an unspoken friendship was born in this brief exchange. Shiva felt that this handshake was not just a simple physical gesture, but more like an inspiration to the soul.
"Since you are a nomadic merchant, does this market have a name? How did it come about?" Shiva asked curiously.
Bratislava flashed a subtle emotion in his eyes and explained, "This place doesn't have a specific name; people usually call it the 'Land of Nomads.' Most of us are nomadic people, unable to enter Patalliro City for various reasons. But that doesn't mean we don't have a livelihood to pursue, so we gather outside the city to do some small business and exchange for necessities."
Shiva couldn't help but feel respect for this simple yet resilient community. He looked at Bratislava again and said, "You are strong and brave people, and I have the utmost respect for that."
