The Drunken Lady's Drunken Pavilion is located in the southern part of the city, while Seventh Master resides in the northern area by Wanshou Lake.
Wanshou Lake covers an area of over two thousand acres, and from a distance, it appears as a vast expanse of azure waves, teeming with aquatic life and surrounded by dense reeds. It is deep and expansive, offering endless scenic beauty throughout the four seasons. Especially during a light drizzle, when boats drift across the lake, it feels like stepping into a realm of peach blossoms and jade-like beauty, leaving one unsure whether they are wandering within a painting or if the painting exists within their heart. It creates an illusion of arriving at a place filled with song and dance, a dreamlike paradise.
Not far from the southern shore of Wanshou Lake lies a small island named Sakura Island, where Seventh Master resides.
To reach Sakura Island, there is a stone bridge over fifty meters long. The Drunken Lady's vehicle crossed the bridge and passed through a dense grove of cherry blossom trees before stopping in front of a villa.
The villa appears grand from the outside, covering an area of over ten acres with European-style architecture. At the entrance, there are two large stone lions flanking either side.
It seems that Seventh Master had been waiting for Xiao Yun's arrival; as soon as the Drunken Lady's vehicle came to a stop, Seventh Master stepped out with several people to greet them.
Seventh Master looks to be in his seventies, not particularly tall, with a long, thin face that is dark and gaunt. He has sparse white hair and sports a tuft of goat-like beard. Dressed in a traditional Huaxia robe reminiscent of the Qing Dynasty, he may be an elderly man, but he walks steadily, his eyes sparkling with vitality. His demeanor is calm and composed.
Upon closer inspection, he has only seven fingers; on his left hand, besides his thumb and index finger, three other fingers appear as if they have been sliced off.
His peers who are familiar with Seventh Master affectionately call him Meng Qizhi. Generally, no one dares to address him so casually.
The individuals following Seventh Master are all burly Muscle Men with thick eyebrows and bright skin that glistens like metal; they look like transformed robots.
Clearly, these individuals are Seventh Master's bodyguards.
"Ha ha... I presume this young man is Long San, Mr. Long? I have long admired your name; it's a pleasure to meet you!" Seventh Master approached Xiao Yun swiftly and warmly grasped his hand, shaking it enthusiastically.
Xiao Yun smiled calmly and said, "Seventh Master, you are a person of great renown. In Sapporo, who would dare to disrespect your name?"
Seventh Master laughed heartily, "Those are things of the past. The new generation surpasses the old; Mr. Long, this is truly the era of young people like you."
In Seventh Master's laughter, Xiao Yun sensed that beneath the powerful sound, there seemed to be some hidden meaning.
Seventh Master's sharp gaze then fell on Fire Phoenix beside Xiao Yun, and he asked with a smile, "Mr. Long, who is this young lady?"
Xiao Yun replied, "She is our newly appointed Boss at Paradise Beauty Club, Miyoko Matsuno."
As soon as he finished speaking, Miyoko Matsuno stepped forward, slightly bowed to Seventh Master, and softly said, "I pay my respects to Seventh Master!"
"Ah, Miss Akiko, no need to be so formal!" Seventh Master looked at Miyoko Matsuno, and a subtle cold glint flashed in his eyes.
Then Seventh Master said, "Please come in!"
The bodyguards remained outside the villa's main entrance.
Drunken Lady led the way, with Seventh Master closely following Xiao Yun and Fire Phoenix. The group entered the villa's hall, passed through a corridor on the left side, and discovered that behind the hall was a courtyard filled with various flowers. After circling around the courtyard, they entered another room, which was Seventh Master's reception room.
The front hall was where Seventh Master met ordinary guests; he would not bring anyone to this reception room unless they were particularly esteemed guests.
This reception room was half the size of the front hall but elegantly decorated. The walls were adorned with calligraphy and paintings by famous figures, and all the furniture in the room was made of rattan—rattan chairs, rattan tables, rattan cabinets...
Xiao Yun and Fire Phoenix curiously examined the rattan furniture. Seeing this, Seventh Master smiled and said, "Don't underestimate these rattan items; they were specially sourced from the mountainous regions of Myanmar. This type of rattan is called Fragrant Vine. When you take a whiff, a delightful aroma immediately fills the air. Even more remarkably, sleeping on a bed made from Fragrant Vine not only promotes blood circulation but also extends one's lifespan."
Indeed, Xiao Yun sniffed lightly, and a scent reminiscent of celery wafted into his nostrils. If he hadn't intentionally inhaled, he wouldn't have been able to detect that subtle fragrance at all.
He had seen in The Thirty-Six Techniques of Bone Painting that this fragrant vine was a rare treasure in the world. Its flowers, when added to wine, were known to enhance a woman's beauty and could even treat various difficult ailments. He couldn't help but wonder how the old fellow in front of him had managed to find such Fragrant Vines.
"Seventh Master is truly impressive; you even managed to acquire such a rare item!" Xiao Yun remarked with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Seventh Master couldn't help but show a hint of surprise in his eyes. "Mr. Long, does this mean you are quite familiar with this vine as well?"
Xiao Yun smiled lightly and replied, "I am just a junior who has heard others mention it; I can't claim to be familiar with it!"
After the four of them took their seats, a maidservant came over with fruits, snacks, and fragrant tea.
Today, the main guest invited by Seventh Master was Xiao Yun, while Fire Phoenix and Drunken Lady merely sat beside them, listening to their conversation and rarely speaking.
"Mr. Long, last time I heard from Charming Jade that there was a conflict between Meng Hao and Mr. Long at her birthday banquet. That young man disregarded all manners and acted recklessly. It's all my fault as his grandfather for not teaching him properly. I invited Mr. Long here today to take this opportunity to apologize; I hope you can forgive him!" Seventh Master said.
At this point, a sharp glint flashed in Seventh Master's eyes as he turned to one of the maids and commanded, "Wu Ma, bring that brat Hao over here."
"Yes, sir!" Wu Ma respectfully bowed slightly before turning to leave.
In just a moment, Wu Ma returned with Meng Hao in tow to the reception room.
Meng Hao walked with a slight limp, his face marred by bruises. From his appearance, it was clear that he had indeed suffered severe punishment from Seventh Master.
Xiao Yun was momentarily taken aback; it seemed Drunken Lady had not lied to him.
This kid is the apple of Seventh Master's eye, always strutting around with an air of arrogance. Others avoid him like the plague, and hardly anyone dares to provoke him. If he wanted the moon, Seventh Master would never let him pick stars. Anyone who annoys this precious dragon's heart would surely find themselves dealt with by Seventh Master in secret.
Strangely enough, this time for Xiao Yun, how could Seventh Master bear to come down so hard on his grandson?
Meng Hao approached Seventh Master and immediately spotted Xiao Yun sitting there. His gaze momentarily froze, and a look of fear flashed across his face.
But when he turned to see Drunken Lady, disdain quickly replaced his fear, and he shot her a glare, completely disregarding her.
However, upon seeing Fire Phoenix, his eyes gleamed with greed, much like a cat catching a whiff of fish.
"Hao, kneel before Mr. Long and apologize!" Seventh Master commanded sternly.
"Grandpa..." Meng Hao hesitated slightly. He had never knelt before anyone in this area. He couldn't understand why his grandfather would not only go so far as to hit him for someone as insignificant as Long San but also demand that he kneel. What was the reasoning behind this?
Could it be that Grandpa was getting old and losing his senses?
Seventh Master barked, "Are your ears deaf? Did you not hear my command?"
It seemed this kid was probably scared stiff by his grandfather. At the sound of Seventh Master's sharp reprimand, he shuddered and suddenly knelt before Xiao Yun with a thud...
