"Do you know how old Old Man Jin is?" Yang Guo'er asked me. 0

"Seventy or eighty, I suppose." I hesitated; who could tell the age of an old man with a face full of wrinkles and a beard? 0

"In a few days, it will be his eightieth birthday! Let me ask you, I've been the private doctor for the Jin Family for almost five years. Do you know how many times I've treated Old Man Jin?" Yang Guo'er continued. 0

"At his age, even a cough or cold counts as an illness. I imagine you've been quite busy!" I joked. 0

"Wrong. In the five years I've been with the Jin Family, I've never treated Old Man Jin even once!" Yang Guo'er said something that shocked both me and Fatty. 0

"How is that possible?" Yang the Fatty immediately expressed disbelief. 0

"Every year, I take the old man for a check-up. The doctors are amazed; aside from looking frail, all his health indicators are just like those of a young person. In some aspects, he’s even stronger than most young people. I once asked him why he was so healthy, and he said he practiced Qigong." Yang Guo'er's last statement relieved me. 0

Qigong is a treasure of Chinese culture, and most people regard it with skepticism. Nowadays, it is almost classified as feudal superstition. Only a few who believe in it know its benefits; for example, I have practiced Qigong myself. Otherwise, how could I casually break ten Azure Bricks with one palm? 0

"Are you?" I looked at Guo'er with some confusion. 0

"This is something I've been pondering. With such good health, it's impossible for him to have died from fright. His heart has no issues," Guo'er said slowly. 0

"Are you saying Jin Manyuan didn't die from fright?" Fatty exclaimed loudly. 0

"Lower your voice!" I shot a glare at Fatty. 0

"This can only be speculation. When Old Man Jin died, the hospital was desperately trying to save him. The attending physician, Gu Qingyun, is also a good friend of the Jin family! They only declared him dead after they truly couldn't save him," Guo'er explained. 0

"What if the old man just faked his death and is lying in the coffin playing on his phone out of boredom?" Fatty's wild guess shocked us. 0

"If he wasn't dead, he wouldn't be silent; would he find it fun to lie there?" I retorted angrily. "Not drinking or eating for so long—if he isn't dead now, he will be soon!" 0

To be honest, I had my doubts like Fatty's as well, but it's been several days now. Even if he wasn't dead, he should at least come out to eat something, right? Those Taoists from Qingfeng Daozhang are performing rituals around the clock; this situation is impossible. 0

"Is it Jin Xinghua poisoning again?" Fatty threw out another hypothesis. 0

This was still a possibility; Old Man Jin had been poisoned to death. Jin Xinghua? Or perhaps another person flashed through my mind. 0

After pondering for a long time, I decided to visit Dr. Gu Qingyun in the afternoon to clarify things. Tsk, this matter would also involve Lingfeng, as his identity would be the most useful. As for the distinction between criminal police and Public Security officers, I believed that without showing any credentials, no one would know. 0

After witnessing Jin Xinghua severing ties with the Jin Family, I called Lingfeng. On the other end of the line, Lingfeng hissed and then laughed, "What a coincidence! I also need to see Dr. Gu Qingyun. He has a good relationship with my family. I'll drive over to pick you up!" 0

"I'm not a pig; what do you mean by driving over to pick us up? Can't you just come and get us?" I laughed and hung up. Since Lingfeng knew Dr. Gu, that was even better. 0

Once in the car, Lingfeng curiously asked what I needed to see Dr. Gu for. Fatty immediately animatedly recounted the whole situation. The more I looked at Fatty, the more he resembled Guo Degang, turning a few simple sentences into a story with rhythm and intonation. 0

After listening, Lingfeng exclaimed, " Zheng Nan, why does it feel like the Jin Family is like a magnet, pulling you in so deeply that you can't escape? Is there no end to this? It's like running with a group of naked women!" 0

Fatty immediately asked, "Naked women running? What do you mean?" 0

"One wave hasn't settled before another rises!" Lingfeng laughed. "Is 'naked women' set as a keyword in your mind? Do you perk up every time you hear it?" 0

Fatty rolled his eyes and said, "Of course! If a man doesn't get excited hearing about naked women, then that's it!" 0

... 0

The car stopped at the People's Hospital in Chaoyang District. This wasn't just any hospital; it was the City People's Hospital of Star City. The difference between a district hospital and a city hospital is like the difference between a district head and a mayor—seemingly just one word apart, but the gap is as vast as a chasm. 0

After getting out of the car, Lingfeng beckoned us to walk aside. I wondered aloud, "Aren't we going to find Dr. Gu?" 0

"What time is it? It's almost 6 o'clock; they must be eating and chatting by now. There's a Sichuan restaurant nearby that has great food," Lingfeng pointed to a sign ahead featuring a Peking opera face and large characters reading "Cao's Sichuan Cuisine." 0

"Then why didn't you park over there?" Before Fatty could finish his sentence, he stopped abruptly upon seeing that all parking spots in front of the restaurant were full. He then asked, "Aren't you not allowed to park at the People's Hospital? Are you a VIP?" 0

"Get lost! You're the VIP of the hospital!" Lingfeng jokingly scolded him. "With this car's pass in front of me, who would dare not let me in?" 0

Cao's Sichuan Cuisine is doing quite well. Fortunately, Lingfeng had already reserved a table in the restaurant. We made our way through the bustling hall and arrived at a private room, sipping tea and chatting casually. 0

About ten minutes later, Lingfeng's phone rang, likely a call from Gu Qingyun, asking for the name of our private room. Lingfeng provided a name and hung up. Shortly after, a refined-looking middle-aged man with glasses walked in. 0

Gu Qingyun didn't seem surprised to see us; he must have been informed by Lingfeng. After exchanging greetings, Lingfeng asked the waiter to bring out the dishes. Gu Qingyun sat down and enjoyed some tea for a while before they began discussing matters. 0

The details of their conversation aren't particularly important; it was about a branch of the Ling Family, someone holding an official position. Recently, his spouse had been experiencing some heart issues and wanted Gu Qingyun to be her personal medical consultant. 0

Capable individuals are always in demand, and I couldn't help but marvel at how even high-ranking officials seek help from others. Of course, Gu Qingyun probably didn't have the courage to refuse. 0

After they finished discussing their matters, Lingfeng gave me a knowing glance. I smiled and asked, "Doctor Gu, I'm a friend of Jin Yang. I have something I'd like to ask you." 0

Upon hearing Jin Yang's name, Gu Qingyun looked momentarily confused, his brows furrowing as he appeared to think it over. I quickly added, "Jin Yang is the son of Jin Zhenzhong." 0

Only then did Gu Qingyun relax his brow and smile, saying, "Oh, I see. What is it?" 0

"I want to know if Jin Manyuan was scared to death because of heart problems!" I asked directly. 0

Gu Qingyun's expression changed as he glanced at Lingfeng. 0

Lingfeng, chewing on a spicy pork knuckle, mumbled indistinctly, "You know what you know about Zheng Nan, that's enough!" 0

"Yes, he did have some heart issues. We tried to resuscitate him for almost two hours but couldn't bring him back," Gu Qingyun said, his eyes shifting uncomfortably to his upper right, which both Lingfeng and I noticed clearly. 0

"Oh, in that case, I won't ask further. Haha, let's drink!" I thought for a moment and decided not to press on. 0

After we finished eating and drinking, Gu Qingyun took his leave first. Only then did Lingfeng ask me, "Zheng Nan, what do you want to do?" 0

I laughed and replied, "What do you mean by what I want to do?" 0

Lingfeng said, "Don't I know you? It's not like you to leave things half said! Are you trying to scare Gu Qingyun again to get him to reveal the truth?" 0

"I know you're lying, right?" I asked. 0

"Yeah..." Lingfeng said with a bitter smile. 0

Both Lingfeng and I could tell from Gu Qingyun's eyes. The movement of a person's eyeballs indicates that their brain is at work. The left and right hemispheres of the brain have different functions; real events are stored in the left hemisphere, while imaginary fantasies are handled by the right. This means that when a person is lying, their eye movement tends to be directed upwards to the right, as they are fabricating something. Conversely, if people are trying to recall something that actually happened, they will look upwards to the left. This "eye movement" is a reflex action that cannot be faked unless someone has undergone strict training. 0

After realizing that Gu Qingyun was lying, I intended to intimidate him. Seeing that Lingfeng seemed somewhat troubled, I had to lay it out: "Whether Jin Manyuan died of heart disease or not has nothing to do with him; he could easily say so without any hesitation. But since he’s being so evasive, it clearly indicates there’s a key detail we don’t know. Gu Qingyun is hiding something about this person." 0

"Even if Jin Xinghua poisoned him, he has already been expelled from the Jin Family. What more do you want?" Lingfeng looked at me with some distress. Gu Qingyun was part of his Ling Family, and I was his brother; I understood his dilemma. 0

"Lingfeng, let me ask you this: if it were Jin Xinghua, what reason would Gu Qingyun have to conceal this matter for him? It seems that Gu Qingyun's close friend is Jin Zhenzhong," I voiced my suspicions. 0

"You mean?" Lingfeng and Fatty both gasped in surprise: "Jin Zhenzhong?" 0

"Yes. First, Jin Zhenzhong was the only caregiver for Jin Manyuan; he had the opportunity to poison him. Second, Gu Qingyun is his friend and an authority on heart disease; as long as it was a heart attack, no autopsy would be needed," I analyzed. 0

"Still, the same question: motive!" Lingfeng seemed to come back to his senses. "Originally, Jin Manyuan's estate was supposed to be inherited by him. If he causes Jin Manyuan's mysterious death, it would only split the inheritance with Jin Xinghua. Has he lost his mind?" 0

I was suddenly at a loss for words; it was just speculation after all, and coming up with two reasons felt far-fetched. Motive? I had no idea about motives. 0
