Just as the Monster Fish was about to bite down on Fatty's head, my foot kicked hard against the monster's forehead. 0

I don't know how much force I used in that kick, but I am certain it was far greater than what I tested in Gu Quan's laboratory. This monster weighed at least five or six hundred pounds, and with its momentum coming at me, it must have been over a thousand pounds. Yet, I managed to kick the Monster Fish back; I couldn't believe my own strength. With a loud crash, the monster flipped and fell into the water, and I let out a strange cry as I tumbled in after it. 0

Earlier, to swim without any hindrance, I was only wearing a pair of shorts. My bare feet struck the hard scales of the serpent's head, and an immediate burning pain shot through my soles; I was sure they were bruised and bloodied. 0

Ignoring the pain in my feet, I quickly surfaced, surprisingly still holding onto my flashlight. I shone it around but saw no sign of the Monster Fish. I hurriedly swam over to Fatty, placed the flashlight on the shore, positioned it carefully on the water's surface, then put one hand on the rocky edge while using the other to lift Fatty's backside. With a sudden burst of strength, I pushed Fatty up onto the shore. He rolled once on the ground before sitting up and stretching his cramped leg muscles, trying to straighten them out by pointing his toes—this was the best way to relieve the tension in his calves. 0

I braced myself against the edge and was about to lift my leg to get out when I heard a sudden loud splash behind me, followed by Fatty's terrified shout: "Ghost Brother, behind you!" 0

I could clearly feel a strong gust of wind rushing toward me from behind, mixed with a foul odor. Without needing to look back, I could guess that the monster was lunging at me with its mouth wide open. 0

There was no time to climb up; this beast was incredibly cunning, choosing just the right moment as I was halfway out of the water. 0

With no other choice, I pushed off with both hands and feet, propelling myself backward and upward like a cannonball. In mid-air, I glanced down just in time to see the monster crash into the cliffside by the shore, clearly stunned by the impact. At that moment, with a splash all around me, I fell back into the water. 0

Struggling to break through the surface, I found myself face-to-face with the Monster Fish's head. Its sudden appearance startled it for a moment before it opened its massive jaws wide and lunged for my head. 0

In that critical moment, instead of retreating, I charged straight at the monster. In the water, there was no way my speed could surpass its; retreating would only lead to death while moving forward might offer a chance of survival. 0

The Monster Fish's mouth rapidly expanded before me. I ducked my head down and dove into its belly, pushing upward with all my might against its lower jaw. My limbs were not idle either; using all my strength, I wrapped around four of its six legs tightly. 0

As soon as I embraced it like this, the Monster Fish panicked and began thrashing wildly as if trying to shake me off. 0

With each twist and turn of the Monster Fish, a thought suddenly struck me: Damn it! I can't breathe underwater! If this beast drags me down into the depths, I'll have only two options: either let go and be eaten by the Monster Fish or hold on tight and suffocate underwater only to be consumed afterward. Either way leads to death—and ultimately being eaten by this creature. 0

Thinking about this made my scalp tingle with fear. Fortunately, this monster was only rolling on the surface and hadn't plunged into deeper waters; perhaps it thought that like it, I could breathe underwater. It seemed that this tactic wouldn't shake me off after all. Even so, with my head buried under its jaw, aside from when it rolled above water allowing me a breath or two, I was still holding my breath underwater. 0

This feeling was unbearable. 0

"How the hell do I crack this problem?" 0

Before I could come up with a solution, the Monster Fish seemed to have thought of a way to break free first. It turned and swam towards the distance, then quickly charged towards the cliff at the shore. Just about three meters away from the cliff, the creature leaped into the air, standing upright and crashing its belly against the cliff. 0

Of course, I was lying on its belly, so even if it crashed into the rock wall, I would be the first to take the hit. This beast actually wanted to kill me. 0

Knowing full well what the Monster Fish was planning, I felt utterly helpless. In desperation, I gathered my strength and braced myself for the impact. 0

With a loud bang, my back slammed hard against the rock wall. The force was more than a thousand pounds; pain shot through my back, then numbness followed, leaving me with no sensation at all. Inside my body, it felt like a giant hand had reached in and violently stirred my organs. A sweetness rose in my throat, and I spat out a mouthful of blood. 0

Splash! 0

The monster and I both fell into the water simultaneously. I no longer had the strength to hold onto the Monster Fish's limbs and let go, collapsing against the rocky shore while gasping for breath. 0

The Monster Fish swam around for a moment before turning back to me, its single eye radiating hatred and cruelty as it opened its mouth wide and lunged at me. 0

Damn it, it looked like I was going to be bitten to death by this fish. 0

At that moment, a furious roar came from above. A hefty figure leaped into the air, followed by a flash of silver light. 0

It was Fatty! 0

Fatty wielded a pickaxe as he soared through the air and brought it down hard on top of the Monster Fish's head. With a thud, one end of the pickaxe sank deep into its skull. It was clear how powerful Fatty's strike was; at that moment, I felt like Fatty was a god descending from heaven. Yes, Marshal Peng had come! 0

The Monster Fish let out an earth-shattering roar. Then its tail whipped back with all its might, propelling its body into the air. Fatty, ruthless as ever, gripped the pickaxe tightly and pulled with all his strength. Using the force of the Monster Fish's leap, he tore open a gash over a meter long along its back with a ripping sound, blood and flesh flying everywhere. 0

With a splash, the Monster Fish fell into the water, belly up and floating motionless on the surface—it seemed to be dead for sure. 0

Fatty and I exchanged glances, both seeing relief at having narrowly escaped death in each other's eyes. 0

The two of them climbed ashore and lay on the ground to rest for a while. I took out some chocolate, mineral water, and ham sausages, and we casually ate a bit. After finishing, I stood up to stretch my limbs; my back and soles were burning with pain. These were just external injuries, but the impact from the Monster Fish had left my internal organs aching, clearly indicating internal injuries. 0

Before long, there was a sudden loud splash. Fatty and I exchanged shocked glances and raised our flashlights to shine on the water's surface. We discovered that dozens of Monster Fish had swum over, seemingly attracted by the scent of blood from the Monster Fish we had killed. Upon seeing the carcass of the Monster Fish, they rushed over and in an instant devoured it down to just a skeleton before scattering away. Strangely, the skeleton of this Monster Fish was floating on the water's surface, swaying gently with the waves. 0

After marveling at this sight, I changed into two clean pieces of clothing. My phone had gone underwater and was no longer usable, so I didn't even know what time it was. Fatty grumbled about how unfashionable the clothes I bought for him were. "Motherfucker, how is a big Wang Feng logo on your chest not fashionable? Don't you know that no matter what happens now, people will think of Wang Feng? He doesn't mind you wearing it; why do you have an issue?" 0

I shone the flashlight around and noticed that Fatty's flashlight had fallen into the water when he was cramping up. At first, I thought about retrieving it, but when I tried to reach for it near the shore, I realized that even close to the edge, the water was too deep to see the bottom, so I gave up. 0

Walking inwards for over a hundred meters led us to a cliff about seven or eight meters high, very smooth and directly connected to the stone wall above us. Our location felt like a walkway beside a mountain with water on one side and an unknown width and depth of Underground River on the other. 0

After discussing it briefly, we decided to follow along the Underground River. Initially, we joked around, but as time passed, we lost our energy and fell silent. The entire underground world was illuminated only by a solitary beam of flashlight light ahead. 0

I don't know how long we walked when Fatty kicked something that made a clattering sound. I quickly shone my flashlight over and found it was a Mineral Water Bottle. 0

"Who! Is anyone there? Speak up!" Fatty immediately yelled at the top of his lungs, causing his voice to echo throughout the underground world. 0

"Speak up—" 0

"Speak up—" 0

"Ah—" 0

"What are you yelling for?" I frowned in annoyance. 0

"This is a Mineral Water Bottle! There must be someone here!" Fatty shouted at the bottle. "Don't tell me this thing is wild." 0

"Look closely; this is one we just threw away!" I shone my flashlight on the bottle. I have a habit of tearing off a corner of labels on bottles when drinking water because during group activities everyone would mix up their drinks. Since then, I've gotten used to tearing off a corner of the label and folding it at a 45-degree angle for easy identification... 0

Clearly, this Mineral Water Bottle was one I discarded. Seeing Fatty's disbelieving expression, I directed my flashlight towards the water surface; sure enough, that Monster Fish skeleton was still there. 0

Seeing the bones of the Monster Fish, Fatty was suddenly at a loss for words and kicked a water bottle towards the Underground River. The bottle landed on the water's surface, making a light 'plop' sound. 0

"It seems this is a Round Underground Lake," I said, licking my lips, feeling a bit uneasy. Just now, while walking along the riverbank, I had seen nothing unusual except for rocks and water. 0

"Let's take a break; I'm a bit tired!" Fatty plopped down on the ground. "Ghost Brother, get something to eat." 0

Ignoring his words, I reached out and pulled him up. "We can't rest; we must keep searching." 0

People tend to be lazy; once they stop to rest, they will keep finding excuses to take breaks. This is true for anything; if you get used to making excuses for your failures, you will never succeed. 0

I didn't want to lecture Fatty and instead pulled him towards the cliff. "This time, we'll move along the stone wall. The exit might be right above us. Come on, it's your turn to hold the flashlight." 0

Reluctantly, Fatty followed me as we continued silently along the cliff. After about half an hour, he complained, "Ghost Brother, give me a cigarette." 0

"Not a chance! As soon as I think of cigarettes, it feels like several claws are scratching my throat. I have cigarettes but no lighter. The lighter got wet and is useless now; there’s no spare in the Spatial Bag." 0

"I kept my lighter close to my body; maybe it can dry out..." Before he could finish, Fatty suddenly exclaimed, "Ghost Brother, look! Isn’t that a house up ahead?" 0
