I also felt that I had been a bit excessive; their family matters had nothing to do with me. I awkwardly smiled, raised my glass, paused for a moment, and downed it in one go, saying, "You were the one who called Qingfeng Daozhang over from Moon City, right?" 0

Ma Xingrui nodded, "That's right. The Taoist forces in Moon City are under my jurisdiction. I didn't want them to know that this matter was related to me, so I paid a high price to invite Qingfeng over. As for what happens next, you must be aware of the strange events happening in the Spirit Tent. To be honest, I suspect it was caused by my subordinates, but I can't step in to stop it yet. I'm currently discussing this with Zhenkai, and when I heard you were coming, I shamelessly requested your help in handling this matter." 0

"What do you want me to do?" I asked him with interest. 0

"Use your expertise to expose the tricks of my subordinates and make them back off." 0

"What if they get angry and want to fight me?" 0

"They won't. This branch of the Daoist Sect will definitely not participate in any form of brawl. Even if there are disputes, they will be reported to me first, and then I'll dispatch other branches to resolve them." Ma Xingrui immediately assured me, "There is absolutely no way they will harm you. As for the reward, it's two hundred thousand. Or if you have any other ideas, feel free to bring them up now." 0

I glanced at Fatty: "Do you want anything?" 0

"Can I get a few more Health Treatments?" Fatty asked with sparkling eyes. 0

I shook my head. 0

Fatty immediately deflated like a punctured balloon: "Then I have nothing to say!" 0

After asking Ma Xingrui some other questions, Fatty and I wiped our mouths and got up to leave. Just as we stepped outside, Fatty asked, "Why did you agree to them?" 0

"What they want us to do is essentially the same as what Qingfeng Daozhang wants us to do, right? Whether I agree or not, it's still something that needs doing; might as well gain some benefits!" I replied with a smile. 0

"Your Ma Family has so many rules; you see, there aren't this many rules in the Lingfeng Family," Fatty began to grumble. 0

"Compared to the Ling Family, the Ma Family is indeed a family with many rules, but relative to other families, it's a colossal entity. You have to consider that they can command respect in Moon City; they wouldn't just go anywhere without reason. Besides, do you really know much about the rules of the Ling Family?" I countered dismissively. 0

“At the very least, Lingfeng's fiancée Li Xinyan is not from a prestigious family!” Fatty protested. 0

“Yes, Li Xinyan may not be from a noble lineage, but she is still a well-bred young lady, which is certainly better than being a hostess, right? It's not that there's anything wrong with hostesses, but in terms of social acceptance, Ali can't compare to Li Xinyan,” I waved my hand. “Alright, let's not argue about this; it's pointless.” 0

“What's so pointless about it? I think that Ma Xingrui is definitely not a good person. That Xi Shaohua must have had an affair with him. Hmph, I saw Xi Shaohua leaving while making eyes at someone inside; her gaze was extremely suggestive. I mean, she can't possibly be flirting with Ma Zhenkai, right?” Fatty continued to mumble. 0

I couldn't be bothered to respond to him. I glanced at my phone; it was almost eight o'clock, so I called a taxi and headed straight to the funeral home. 0

Inside the hall, the Taoist priests had changed shifts. The ones currently on stage were the same group that had been sleeping in the back earlier, including people like Mullet Roe, Shoehorn, and Meatball. 0

Qingfeng Daozhang was eating in a corner and waved us over as soon as he saw us enter. 0

When we approached, I noticed Yo Xie had made scrambled eggs with tomatoes. If you didn't look closely, you wouldn't even notice the egg drop inside. Remembering that Fatty and I had just come back from a big meal, I couldn't help but ask, “Is this dish good with rice?” 0

Qingfeng pushed his food around a bit, stretched his neck, and struggled to swallow before quickly opening a bottle of water and taking a couple of gulps. He then let out a long sigh of relief. “It's alright. So, what are your plans for tonight?” 0

“We don't have any specific plans; we'll just take it step by step,” I answered honestly. 0

“Okay, if you need anything, just let me know. By the way, do you want to rest now?” Qingfeng Daozhang gestured towards the back room. 0

“Sure, just remember to wake us up at midnight,” I nodded and walked to the back with Fatty. 0

I called Guo'er, played some Landlord for a while, but found that I just couldn't fall asleep. 0

Turning to look at Fatty, he was engrossed in his phone, occasionally bursting into fits of laughter that sounded quite lewd. I wondered if the Taoist priests nearby would have nightmares from his laughter. 0

Just as I was feeling bored, a Taoist priest crawled over and whispered, “Ghost Brother! 0

"Eh?" I looked at the Taoist in surprise. He had a hooked nose and slightly sunken eyes, but his gaze was exceptionally spirited. My first impression was that this person could definitely play Mahjong for three nights straight. 0

The Taoist shushed and glanced at the black cloth, finding nothing unusual. He then smiled and said softly, "My name is Cherry, I've long admired the name of Ghost Brother." 0

I nodded, secretly amused. Damn it, what have you admired? My name is Zhong Zhengnan; have you ever heard of it? 0

"You were sent by my master to investigate the supernatural events, right?" Cherry asked quietly. 0

"Yeah, otherwise what? Do you think we came here to leech off the Wi-Fi?" I replied with a laugh. 0

"Ghost Brother really knows how to joke," Cherry chuckled lightly and continued, "Ghost Brother, I actually have a clue to provide." 0

"Oh?" I looked at Cherry in surprise. 0

Cherry propped himself up with his elbow and glanced around to confirm that the other Brothers were asleep before lowering his voice even more. "That night, the night when there was an extra person, I heard someone answer twice." 0

"Who?" I couldn't help but exclaim softly. Cherry quickly raised his index finger to his lips, signaling for silence. 0

"What’s going on?" Fatty leaned over from the side and asked in a low voice. 0

"Don't make a sound!" I shot Fatty a glare and whispered to Cherry, "Who is it?" 0

Cherry looked around again, his voice getting even lower. "Meatball!" 0

"Have you told anyone else about this?" 0

"I haven't told anyone because at that time neither my master nor my uncle Brothers responded to those two calls. I was afraid it would affect the feelings among our sect. This has been driving me crazy, especially when I see Meatball; I can't help but think wildly, fearing he might turn into two people and eat me. Thankfully you all came; if we hadn't found someone to address this matter, I would have definitely gone insane. Well, that's all I know." Cherry looked relieved and crawled over to take out his tablet, engrossed in playing by himself. 0

"Don't you need to sleep?" Fatty asked Cherry with a smile. 0

"I'm someone with a lot of energy, it's almost like a special ability. Just a couple of hours of sleep is enough for me, and I still feel fully energized," Cherry said as she swiped on the Tablet, causing words like "fbi warning" to appear on the screen. Seeing this, Fatty immediately leaned in to enjoy it together. 0

Two huge question marks flashed in my mind. First, everyone else couldn't hear the repetition, yet only Cherry could. Is this Cherry lying? Second, if Cherry isn't lying, then why did Meatball respond twice? 0

I quickly found an answer to the first question: Cherry could hear Meatball's voice responding twice, possibly due to his extraordinary mental strength. If he only needs one hour of sleep, isn't that unusual? 0

As for the second question, I needed to find the reason from Meatball. According to Qingfeng's method, Meatball was only eleven years old; a child that young shouldn't be able to hide any secrets. Well, I should go out and ask Meatball to see if I can get something out of him. 0

I lifted the curtain and walked into the front hall. Just as I was about to have Qingfeng call Meatball for a chat, I noticed a bearded man arguing with Qingfeng Daozhang. There was also a White-faced Man leaning against a coffin, chatting casually with other Taoists. One Taoist closest to the White-faced Man had a beaming smile; this must be Meatball. 0

I felt intrigued and walked over to listen for a while. It turned out these two were employees from the funeral home, complaining that the noise from the rituals was disturbing others' rest. 0

Qingfeng Daozhang was arguing his case: "Yo Xue, in this desolate place, besides the bodies lying on the mortuary stage waiting for cremation, who else would be resting here? Who have I disturbed? Please have them step forward." 0

The bearded man wasn't backing down either: "You are disturbing our on-duty staff!" 0

"Hmph! If you were on duty tonight, I wouldn't perform any rituals. Touch that little bit of fat on your chest and ask yourself if anyone is actually on duty tonight?" 0

The bearded man was taken aback; it seemed my words hit his soft spot. Nowadays, phones can redirect calls; they naturally go home to sleep and come back when needed. Who would stay here all night? After a moment of hesitation, he replied defensively, "Anyway, keep it down! Otherwise, we won't take your order!" 0

With that, he turned and signaled for the White-faced Man to leave. 0

"That's none of my business! I'm just here to perform rituals; you can discuss it with my boss," Qingfeng Daozhang shouted at the bearded man's back. 0

The bearded man walked out and slammed the door shut behind him as he left. 0

"What's wrong with him, running over here without knowing what he wants!" Qingfeng Daozhang muttered in frustration. 0

After a few words of comfort, I asked him about Meatball. Qingfeng looked at me suspiciously and shouted to the Taoist priest, "Meatball, come over here!" 0

The Taoist priest Meatball hurried over, his big eyes surveying me and Fatty with a puzzled expression. 0

"This uncle has something to ask you, just answer truthfully!" Qingfeng patted Meatball's shoulder. 0

Meatball sighed and looked at me with an even more guarded expression. I pulled him to a corner and was about to ask when Qingfeng Daozhang suddenly shouted, "Meatball, only do what you should do, don't do what you shouldn't!" 0

I was taken aback by this. What does that mean? 0

Meatball was also confused: "Master, what is something I shouldn't do?" 0

Qingfeng Daozhang stammered in response, "You know what I mean." 0

Meatball replied, "You secretly went for health treatment last month; I definitely won't." 0

At that moment, the hall erupted in laughter. 0
