Zhong Kui's Diary
"Don't touch it!" Qingcheng shouted sharply from the side.
Immediately, a Peach Wood Sword was thrust forward, directly piercing the red light sphere.
With a 'pop', the red light sphere shattered like a balloon filled with water, bursting into countless fragments that fell to the ground, creating fist-sized craters as they struck the surface, releasing wisps of steam.
These fragments had immense power; if they hit me, it would be disastrous. Kong Xuan seemed intent on killing me.
"Qingcheng, are you going to protect him?" Kong Xuan turned his head and said ominously to Qingcheng.
"I... I don't know!" Qingcheng replied, trembling.
"Regardless, he is dead for sure!" Kong Xuan snorted coldly, rubbing his hands together. A red light sphere materialized in his palms again. With a fierce shout, the light sphere shot towards me rapidly.
Having witnessed the power of the previous light sphere, I knew I couldn't withstand this one with my abilities. Helplessly, I shouted Qingcheng's name. Her face once again showed a conflicted expression. Gritting her teeth, she extended her wooden sword and struck the light sphere down to the ground.
"Qingcheng!" Kong Xuan yelled angrily.
"I think we should let Zheng Nan explain!" Qingcheng's chest rose and fell rapidly as she took a deep breath and declared resolutely, "No matter what, I want to give Zheng Nan a chance to explain!"
Kong Xuan glared at me with hatred, his face twisted in rage, his eyes blazing with fury as if he wanted to burn me alive. After a while, he shouted at me fiercely, "Fine, you!"
What should I do? Damn it, there's no way to explain this. I stared speechless at Kong Xuan and the City-Slayer, unable to say anything for a moment.
Qingcheng's gaze towards me gradually changed from initial sadness and disappointment to contempt, anger, humiliation, and hatred. What kind of transformation was this? My heart trembled involuntarily as I called out, "Qingcheng, what are you going to do?"
Slowly raising her Peach Wood Sword, Qingcheng's hand stopped trembling; her eyes began to show determination.
"He not only insulted Ai but also insulted both of us!" Kong Xuan shouted hoarsely. "Let's kill this beast together!"
Qingcheng lightly scolded, and the White Star Radiance on the sword tip began to flicker rapidly. Then a Silver Sword beam started to emerge from the tip of her sword while Kong Xuan's red light sphere had already taken shape.
"Die! You beast!" Kong Xuan roared as the red light sphere whistled towards my head. At the same time, Qingcheng shook her Peach Wood Sword; the sword's aura suddenly extended over two feet long. With a swish, the sword aura detached from the tip and shot towards my chest in a silver arc.
I let out a bitter laugh, thinking that I was probably going to die today. In that moment, all hope faded, and I closed my eyes, waiting for the arrival of the red light sphere and the silver sword light.
Suddenly, my arm tightened, and a tremendous pulling force came from behind; I was being dragged to the side. Then, a loud explosion echoed in my ears, followed by an exceptionally sharp sound of metal clashing.
When I opened my eyes, I saw that the one dragging me was the Six God Monk. Looking back at where I had been standing, I noticed a circular pit about a meter in diameter and over a foot deep on the ground, with steam rising above it. This must have been created by Kong Xuan. On the opposite wall, there was a crescent-shaped scratch about a foot long, which seemed to be left by Qingcheng's sword light.
Either of these two attacks would have certainly killed me if they had hit. They were determined to put me to death.
"What are you still doing? Run!" the Six God Monk shouted. With another strong pull, he dragged me outside the woodshed and started sprinting away.
At first, I was unconsciously being pulled along by the Six Deities. Gradually, as my awareness returned, I began to exert strength in my legs. Even if I couldn't explain it clearly, there was no way I could just be killed without reason here. Once they calmed down, I would explain everything.
Qingcheng and Kong Xuan were shouting behind us, occasionally casting spells. Now and then, a fireball or Wind Blade would hit me, causing me to scream in pain. The Six God Monk wasn't much better off; he had probably taken several hits as well and was hissing in pain. Fortunately, while running at high speed, the spells cast by Kong Xiao weren't particularly powerful; although they hurt a lot, they weren't fatal.
"Damn it! You're forcing this old monk to use real Kung Fu!" the Six Deities cursed with a rather profound Buddhist expletive. He kicked off with both feet, and his iron boots actually cracked under his weight. With a swift kick and flick of his feet, he sent both boots flying backward with a whoosh.
I could hear Kong Xuan cursing and Qingcheng grunting behind us; without looking back, I knew those suddenly launched iron boots had thrown them into disarray.
With a grin, the Six God Monk suddenly accelerated; I felt myself being yanked off the ground as everything around me flew past at incredible speed—it truly felt like flying.
Without any hesitation, the Six God Monk pulled me directly toward the temple exit and shouted as we rushed down the mountain.
Behind us came Kong Xuan's furious voice:
"Zhong! You can't escape! Even if you run to the ends of the earth, I won't let you go!"
"Zhong! Stop right there! I'm going to kill you!"
"Beast!..."
As we continued on, Kong Xuan's voice grew fainter until it eventually disappeared completely.
I don't know how long I ran, but I knew my stamina had reached its limit. My heart felt like it could burst from my throat at any moment as I shouted, "Stop... stop... just stop for a moment!"
Six God Monk looked back, released my hand, and came to a halt. I stumbled forward a few steps, steadied myself, and placed my hands on my knees, gasping for breath. My chest heaved like a bellows, and with each rise and fall, my lungs felt as if they were being stabbed.
After panting for a while, I gradually began to recover. Damn, I almost exhausted myself.
Straightening up, I looked at Six God Monk and found myself at a loss for words. Should I thank him for saving me? After all, he was the one who poisoned us; should I lash out at him? Yet he was the one who rescued me from Kong Xiao and his companion.
Seeing me speechless, Six God Monk smiled and said, "Forget everything else. Just follow this mountain path down until you reach the road. You'll see a van waiting for you; someone inside will take you to a certain place."
Upon hearing this from Six God Monk, I felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint what it was. After a moment of confusion, I finally reacted. "What do you mean? Someone is waiting for me in the van? Did you arrange all of this beforehand?"
"I need your help with something, so naturally, I had to make arrangements. Otherwise, why would I poison you? Do you think it's just for fun? If you help me with this matter, we'll be even; I'll no longer seek revenge on you! If you refuse... well, then I'm sorry, but I'll take back my nephew Shattering Stone's life." Six God Monk grinned at me.
"Come on! Go ahead and take your revenge! Kill me if you can! If I even frown once, then I'm not a real man!" A surge of irritation suddenly welled up inside me as I snorted dismissively.
Six God Monk was taken aback, seemingly unsure how to respond to my reaction.
Damn it, playing mind games with me? If he wanted to kill me, he could have done it already; why wait until now? Since he clearly has no intention of killing me and has even prepared transportation for me, it’s obvious that whatever he wants me to do is something only I can handle. Tsk tsk, could it be related to my Yin-Yang Physique?
But how did he know about my Yin-Yang Physique? I certainly don’t go around handing out business cards that say "Zhong Zhengnan (Yin-Yang Physique)."
I looked provocatively at Six God Monk. A flash of murderous intent crossed his eyes as he clenched and unclenched his fists repeatedly. It was clear that at that moment, he genuinely considered killing me.
Seeing him like this made me suspicious. What could be so important that he would set aside his desire for revenge against my family? And what exactly happened in the temple earlier? The answers to all these questions likely lay with the person before me.
Thinking of this made me chuckle nervously. "Just kidding! A drop of kindness deserves a fountain of gratitude! It's just doing one thing; leave it to me! Let's go!"
A flicker of anger crossed Six God Monk's face as he coldly replied, "I hope next time you won't joke like that with me."
"What if I do want to joke like that next time?" I asked nonchalantly.
"Then why not try it now?" Six God Monk's fists tightened instantly, and I could even see his knuckles turning white from the pressure.
"I won't try!" I laughed.
The Six God Monk smiled lightly and stopped dwelling on the issue. "You go ahead; I still need to hold off those two behind you. They're not easy opponents."
"Okay!" I turned and walked away.
After about ten minutes, I heard the sound of a helicopter in the air. It must be the helicopter that Lingfeng called. I couldn't help but smile bitterly and quickened my pace.
Behind me, thunderous sounds occasionally echoed along the mountain path. Looking back, I could see flashes of white and red light intertwining in the sky, with occasional loud clanging sounds. It seemed that the Six God Monk was quite capable, managing to withstand the combined attacks of Kong Xiao and his companion.
With the sounds of fighting accompanying me, I almost ran forward. A journey that originally required four to five hours on the mountain path took me just over two hours to reach the road, where a silver-white van was quietly parked by the side.
In the driver's seat sat a person with a face full of scars, smiling and waving at me. Who is this person? They look so familiar; I must have seen them somewhere before. And it should be related to these recent events.
As I approached the car door, just as I was about to pull it open, a flash of realization struck me. I suddenly remembered and shouted, "You are Sister Wang's Boss!"
"Yes, yes, yes! People often forget things easily, but Boss Zhong remembers this so clearly. It seems you're not just any ordinary person. Haha, who would have thought that we would meet again so soon after seeing each other yesterday? What a coincidence." The Scarred Boss laughed heartily and nodded toward the back of the car. "Get in first."
