Zhong Kui's Diary
"Hey!" Guo'er said with a smile, "Do you like this type?"
It felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over me. I shivered and was stunned for a moment before stammering, "What do you mean by that?"
"Don't you like this type? I just found a body like this to possess," Guo'er said with a sweet smile.
"Aren't you Guo'er?" I exclaimed in surprise, then shook my head. My fingertips were still resting on Guo'er's face; the sensation couldn't be wrong. This was clearly Guo'er's skin.
"I am Hua Wuqiu," 'Guo'er' said, looking at me with a bright smile. "Oh, your eyes are quite seductive right now."
"Are you really Hua Wuqiu?" I touched 'Guoer's' face again. How could this be possible? This feeling was definitely Guo'er; I would never mistake it.
"Why are you so stubborn? You like this type of person, and there just happens to be a body like this in the storeroom of the villa. I'm just showing you what it's like to possess her. How about it? Do you like this body? If you do, I can possess her from now on, okay?" 'Guoer's' beautiful face smiled at me like a blooming flower. For a moment, I was speechless and didn't know how to respond.
"Hey, say something." The possessed Guo'er, Hua Wuqiu, nudged my shoulder.
I finally came back to my senses, swallowed hard, and said with difficulty, "So, this body was originally in your storeroom?"
"That's right," Hua Wuqiu replied with a smile, then frowned in thought for a moment. "It should have been about two months ago. I accidentally saw my nephew Flower Attacker having something brought in, so I followed him in to take a look. It turned out to be a body. When I asked my nephew what was going on, he wouldn't say much and just mumbled."
"Two months ago, was it around the time after National Day?" My heart skipped a beat.
"How would I remember that clearly? Hmm... right, it should have been around that time because I heard the staff transporting the body complaining about traffic jams even after the National Day Golden Week was over," Hua Wuqiu nodded and frowned.
At that time, I had just arrived at Shoushan. It was then that Kong Xuan called to tell me that the Mustard Seed Box had cracked and Guo'er’s body was in imminent danger. However, when I returned with the Nine Nether Grass, I did not see Guo'er’s body; according to Kong Xuan, it had already been cremated, and I was given an urn as a finality.
Looking back now, it seems that Guo'er’s body was not unable to be preserved due to the Mustard Seed Box cracking, but rather it had been secretly transported to Dominion Villa. Clearly, Kong Xuan was deceiving me about this matter.
Why would Kong Xuan do this? Moreover, at that time, Fatty Anran Ai and others were also weaving lies alongside Kong Xuan. What did they mean by doing this?
Suddenly recalling Sima Sanguang's words, I realized he must have had a point; I hadn't taken it seriously back then. Now, connecting these events together led me to a shocking conclusion.
That is, Kong Xuan and Ai are very likely people from the villa.
Only this explanation makes sense: Ai pretended to have a relationship with me, and then Kong Xuan relentlessly pursued me, driving me all the way to Dominion Villa. Initially, I thought I was lucky; every time Kong Xuan tried to kill me, I managed to evade him in time. Looking back now, it was clear that Kong Xuan was deliberately letting me escape, with the goal of delivering me intact to Dominion Villa.
If it weren't for the coincidence of meeting Hua Wuqiu and showing her Guo'er’s photo—she possessed Guo'er’s body to surprise me—I would still be in the dark.
If Kong Xuan is from Dominion Villa, then why did he send Guo'er’s body there? This question grew like poisonous weeds in my mind, consuming my thoughts entirely.
Why?
Why?
"Hey! What's wrong with you?" Hua Wuqiu nudged my shoulder again.
"Uh." I shook my head vigorously and slapped my face twice to wake myself up. Only then did I say, "So, Hua Wuqiu, I have no objection to you possessing this body, but what about your original body?"
"Hua Wuqiu, Hua Wuqiu, can't you just call me Wuqiu?" Hua Wuqiu pouted.
"Uh, Wuqiu."
"This makes it much more intimate," Hua Wuqiu said with a cheerful smile. "Just leave the original body in the storage room; you can switch back whenever you need it."
Hearing Hua Wuqiu's tone, it seemed as simple as changing clothes or shoes. I forced a laugh and said, "Aren't you afraid your body will rot?"
Hua Wuqiu pointed at the Mustard Seed Pendant around my neck and said, "You have a Mustard Seed Pendant hanging around your neck too. Don't you know that there's no such thing as rotting inside the Mustard Seed Space? There's a Mustard Seed Space in the storage room; as long as I toss my body in there, it'll be fine."
First, Flower Attacker recognized my Mustard Seed Pendant, and now Hua Wuqiu did too. How come they both recognized my Mustard Seed Pendant? Then I realized that both Flower Attacker and Hua Wuqiu are Taoist masters—one is at Grandmaster Level and the other at Master Level. It’s no surprise they could recognize a Mustard Seed Pendant.
I pretended to suddenly understand and slapped my forehead. "Right, that's how it is. But aren't you afraid the Mustard Seed Space might suddenly rupture?"
"How could the Mustard Seed Space possibly rupture? It's another space, just like the world we are in. No matter how much chaos you cause in this world, the ground remains ground; it can't just break apart," Hua Wuqiu replied with a smile.
Damn, Kong Xuan was indeed lying to me; his Mustard Seed Box wouldn't rot at all.
Filled with resentment but smiling on the outside, I said, "I suppose the body you're possessing is also kept in the Mustard Seed Space?"
"Not exactly. When Flower Attacker retrieved this body, it contained a consciousness that seemed to belong to its original owner. He used Nine Nether Grass to merge this consciousness back with the body. Strangely enough, although the merging went smoothly, this body just wouldn't awaken—it’s like a vegetative state; it has functions but simply won't regain consciousness," Hua Wuqiu chuckled lightly and continued, "And because Flower Attacker fell into a state of confusion, he couldn't use any other methods and had to leave her in storage. Since her internal systems can operate automatically, she won't deteriorate even if she's not in the Mustard Seed Space."
Upon hearing this from Hua Wuqiu, I was overjoyed. This meant Guo'er was still alive, and her consciousness had already been merged by Flower Attacker; she just hadn't regained awareness yet.
This was incredibly exciting—Guo'er was still alive! What a huge surprise.
Hua Wuqiu looked at me suspiciously. "You seem very happy?"
"Uh, no, not at all." I of course denied it outright.
"You're lying!"
Clearing my throat, I quickly changed the subject, "What is Nine Nether Grass? Can I see it?"
"That's not possible. That thing belongs to Flower Attacker and is hidden in his private space. I can't even get in there." Hua Wuqiu shook her head and then pouted, "Forget that, let me take you out to have some fun."
With that, she linked her arm with mine and headed straight for the door.
Next, I intended to dig deeper into this matter with Hua Wuqiu. The mysteries in my mind were growing. Wasn't Guo'er’s consciousness supposed to be with Qingcheng? How did it end up back in her original body? And what about this Nine Nether Grass? How could Flower Attacker have Nine Nether Grass?
Although Hua Wuqiu was completely defenseless around me and answered whatever I asked, she didn't know much about Guo'er. After asking for a while, I still couldn't get a clear answer.
On the other hand, I did learn some insider information about other matters. For example, Hua Wuqiu's father was a Deputy Master of Dominion Villa, and Master Lin of Dominion Villa was a relative of the Flower Family, coming from an ancient lineage. I didn't ask which ancient family it was; there are many ancient families out there, and even if she told me, I might not recognize it.
As for the Rain of Swords Plan, she was completely unaware. I only dared to hint at it a few times, mainly because I was worried about the Heartbreak Grass inside me acting up. In short, after spending time with Hua Wuqiu, my gains were minimal.
By nightfall, Hua Wuqiu was still lingering in my room, wanting to offer her body to her beloved one, merging spirit and flesh together. It took a lot of effort to coax her to leave. After she finally went home, I sighed heavily and collapsed onto my bed.
To be honest, watching Guo'er sway in front of me made me feel an impulse to embrace her at any moment. I knew very well that if I held her close, what would happen next would inevitably be inappropriate... Wasn't Hua Wuqiu just a child? It would certainly be unsuitable to do such things with her. Just thinking about moving on Guo'er's body while speaking to a girl made everything feel awkward.
It was best to send her home early; otherwise, I might really end up doing something inappropriate.
After feeling restless for a long time, I finally fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, I woke up feeling dizzy and weak all over. I touched my forehead and felt it was a bit hot. Could I be coming down with a cold? For someone like me, catching a cold seemed like a distant possibility, and because of that, I didn't have any cold medicine on hand. I had no choice but to pick up my phone and call Sang Xin.
Upon hearing that I was sick, Sang Xin immediately became anxious. A few minutes later, she appeared in my room, followed by Yang Mi, who was surprisingly carrying a medical kit.
"Hi!" I greeted them weakly from my bed.
"Let's check your temperature first!" Yang Mi approached my bedside, opened the medical kit, took out a thermometer, and skillfully shook it before wiping it with alcohol a few times. She then asked me to place it under my armpit.
Next, she took out a wooden stick and a flashlight, instructing me to open my mouth wide.
I let out an "ah," and Yang Mi leaned in front of me, pressing down on my tongue with the wooden stick while shining the flashlight inside my mouth for a moment. She frowned slightly, and it suddenly occurred to me that I hadn't brushed my teeth yet and had smoked quite a bit before going to bed last night. The smell in my mouth was probably not pleasant.
"Your throat is slightly inflamed," Yang Mi said calmly.
"Now that you mention it, I do feel a bit uncomfortable," I replied, coughing hard a few times and laughing.
