"How much is a little more expensive?" Kong Xuan continued to ask. 0

"Let's put it this way, the value of the lock is proportional to the time it takes for me to open it. If I need ten minutes to open a lock, the price starts at over ten thousand. This lock, however, is worth at least one million." Lo San Zhi zipped up his bag and tapped on the finance room door with his fingers, then knocked on the wall: "This sound seems like wood, but it's very muffled. With my keen hearing, I can responsibly tell you that inside this door and within the wall, there are definitely iron plates thicker than ten centimeters. What kind of finance room is this? It's clearly a big iron box, a large safe." 0

Kong Xuan nodded and then looked at me: "If this lock is worth one million, then the items stored in this office must be worth at least ten million." 0

"And then?" I asked in confusion. 0

"Moreover, they disguised this door to look very ordinary, which makes it even more suspicious. I believe there are very important things hidden in this office," Kong Xuan asserted. 0

I couldn't help but laugh and scold: "Are you planning to open a private detective agency? Analyzing things so logically—so what if there are important items? What does it have to do with you?" 0

Kong Xuan immediately felt embarrassed: "I was just analyzing." 0

Fatty, however, rushed toward the door, muttering, "Things worth millions, I want to see..." 0

Before he could finish, Fatty tripped over the raised floor at the entrance and stumbled forward a few steps. Fortunately, his Kung Fu skills saved him from falling flat on his face. 0

"Damn!" Fatty angrily kicked the ground with great force. I felt the entire floor tremble slightly. 0

"Hmm?" Lo San Zhi frowned at the sound. 0

"What's wrong?" I asked upon seeing his reaction. 0

"Something's not right." Lo San Zhi pointed to the floor inside the office and frowned: "There must be something buried under these tiles; it feels like iron plates." 0

I couldn't believe it; this office was truly a massive iron cabinet. The walls were made of Iron Plate, and to my surprise, even the floor was the same. 0

"But something about this sound seems off." Lo San Zhi walked in, knelt down, and tapped the floor with his fingers. After a moment, he raised his head in astonishment. 0

"What is it?" I asked curiously, raising my voice. 0

"This isn't Iron Plate underneath; it seems softer than Iron Plate. The sound is more like..." Lo San Zhi's gaze became somewhat dazed. 0

"Like what?" I pressed on. 0

"Gold!" Lo San Zhi exclaimed. 0

As soon as he said this, the three of us shouted in unison. 0

"What?" 0

"Gold?" 0

"Is there gold beneath the floor?" 0

Lo San Zhi nodded proudly. "I trust my hearing." 0

"If it's gold, we can find out by digging!" Fatty snorted and turned to leave. In a short while, he returned with a hammer. No doubt, he had pulled it from his Spatial Bag; he just hadn't taken it out in front of Lo San Zhi. 0

Without hesitation, Fatty swung the hammer down onto the tiles on the floor. With a loud crack, the tiles shattered. He hammered a few more times and then used the sharp edge of the hammer to pry away the broken tiles and cement. Soon, a layer of golden material began to emerge beneath. 0

Upon closer inspection, wow, there really is gold beneath this floor. If this layer of gold is ten centimeters thick, damn, how much would that be worth? This floor is just too luxurious! 0

Now I understand why the finance room has such a high-end lock; it's not to prevent others from stealing what's in the safe, but to stop them from prying up the floor. That said, if it weren't for Fatty kicking the ground and Lo San Zhi, who has excellent hearing, we would never have known there was so much gold hidden beneath our feet. 0

The few of us exchanged glances, unsure of what to do next, while Lo San Zhi's expression shifted from pride to concern. I understood his worry; clearly, he felt that the secret he had stumbled upon was too significant—almost life-threatening. 0

Just as I was about to say a few comforting words, footsteps approached from the company entrance. It sounded like two people were coming, one of whom was a woman, given the sound of high heels. 0

At this moment, who could it be? Fatty and the others looked at me, and I shrugged, indicating that I had no idea. 0

Soon enough, two figures appeared at the door: Financial Director Tian Yong and Marketing Director Xiao Lin. Both looked at me with strange expressions. 0

I scratched my head and awkwardly smiled, "Ms. Xiao, Mr. Tian, what a coincidence! How did you know I was here?" 0

"There are cameras; I noticed as soon as you opened the door," Tian Yong pointed to a small black cylinder in the corner of the flower board overhead. 0

"Uh... cameras are really useful," I felt even more embarrassed. Every finance room in any company would have cameras; that's basic knowledge. I can't believe I overlooked that. I had gotten complacent since I hadn't seen cameras installed in other areas during my nearly half-month at the company. 0

Tian Yong glanced at Xiao Lin and nodded slightly. "Xiao Lin, why don't you take it from here?" 0

Xiao Lin cleared her throat. "Zheng Nan, can we talk privately for a moment?" 0

I was about to say that we were all brothers and it didn't matter. But seeing Lo San Zhi still standing by, I reconsidered. "Alright, Fatty, you guys wait for me outside." 0

After Fatty and the others stepped out, I awkwardly smiled again. "Since you've found me, why not call the police? Or gather some thugs to surround us? Just you and Mr. Tian alone aren't enough to handle me." 0

Xiao Lin smiled lightly and said, "Zheng Nan, your own combat power is astonishing, and Police Chief Lingfeng is also your friend. More importantly, you have other means at your disposal. At the Mobile Store, Malen witnessed your upper-level abilities, and even the city party secretary made an appearance... With someone like you, whether it’s in terms of combat or connections, we are willing but unable." 0

"Hehe." I scratched my head and laughed, "So you all know about it. It feels great to be praised!" 0

"To be honest, when we received your resume, Xie Weijian shared everything he knew about you. After realizing your background, deciding whether to let you in became quite a dilemma. We even split into two factions over it. Tian Yong opposed your entry, arguing that it's better to avoid trouble and directly refuse your joining; I supported bringing you in, thinking that by retreating we could advance. Even if you discover the truth, given your character, you wouldn't dig too deeply." Xiao Lin glanced at me and continued, "On this point, I’m taking a gamble on my instincts; I believe you have a kind heart." 0

"You guessed right." I sighed bitterly. 0

"As for the matter of the gold, I need to start from the beginning. Boss Sha knew long ago that his actions would definitely lead to suppression. So a few years ago, taking advantage of the renovation of Rui Company, he secretly hid a stash for his comeback." Xiao Lin pointed to the gold hidden beneath the floor: "This is Boss Sha's capital for his resurgence. He also told me that if things go south, this little fortune would serve as severance pay for us subordinates." 0

"Sha Zhiyuan... not bad." I sighed lightly. 0

"Not just not bad," Tian Yong interjected excitedly from the side. "You really don’t understand him; once you work with him, within half a year you’ll be inspired by his great character..." 0

Tian Yong was about to continue when Xiao Lin interrupted him: "We don’t need to explain these things; just know that this gold is our hope. Regarding the gold matter, besides Boss Sha, only Tian Yong and I are aware." 0

"Not just us? At least the workers who laid this floor know too," I joked. 0

"This floor was laid by Tian Yong and me personally," Xiao Lin said with a half-smile. 0

"Uh, how is that possible?" I exclaimed. "If these gold pieces were fused into one block, it would probably require a crane to lift it." 0

"Down there are not solid blocks but individual Gold Bricks. Each Gold Brick measures forty centimeters in width and height and two centimeters in thickness; each one weighs less than ten pounds. Our Director Tian may not be as skilled in fighting as you, Zheng Nan, but lifting around a hundred pounds is still manageable for him." Xiao Lin smiled and then became serious: "Besides the Gold Bricks, there’s also a box down there containing some of Boss Sha's personal treasures—probably high-end jewelry or something similar. Sigh... Boss Sha took a risk by selling Rui Company to Boss Tang first, thinking that Ren Zhiming and Zhu Liancheng wouldn’t pay attention to Rui Company." 0

"Ren Zhiming and Zhu Liancheng are no pushovers either; they must have their suspicions about Sha Zhiyuan yielding so easily," I remarked with a smile. "Otherwise, Ren Feiyu and Zhu Qi wouldn’t have appeared in this company." 0

"Yes, so we have always been cautious in our actions." Xiao Lin lowered her head in silence for a moment, then slowly raised her head to look at me. "Zheng Nan, you will help us, right?" 0

What gives? I wanted to shout this out loud, but the image of Yeh Rong's crazed expression flashed before my eyes, along with Aijia Yu's words, 'I am very obedient,' and then Tian Yong's earlier statement to me, 'A Soldier Dies for a True Friend.' These scenes overlapped in my mind, and I found myself unable to voice a refusal. After a long pause, I sighed and said, "Ms. Xiao, are you betting on your feelings again?" 0

"Yes!" Xiao Lin looked at me with hopeful eyes, her gaze flickering. 0

"Alright, you guessed right again!" 0

Xiao Lin's eyes immediately sparkled with surprise; she knew that having my help would be a significant advantage for them. 0

"However, I need to discuss this with Tang the Elder." I continued. 0

"Ah?" Xiao Lin's expression changed slightly. 0

"Don't worry. Tang the Elder is an old-school person with the advantages that come with it. Plus, I have some influence; once they know about this, there won't be any further disturbances. They will just be informed." I smiled. 0

Hearing this, Xiao Lin finally breathed a sigh of relief. 0
