“Damn it, I know we need to go to the River District, but we are currently in Yuhua District. It will take at least six traffic lights to get to the River District,” Kong Xuan shouted as he swerved the steering wheel, narrowly avoiding a pickup truck in front of us. 0

“Just be grateful! At least we are not in Chaoyang District or Qinghu District, otherwise we would have to cross the river!” I retorted angrily. Lingfeng was not answering his phone, and I was growing anxious. 0

The phone rang several times, and just when I was about to give up, Lingfeng finally picked up. 0

“What’s going on?” I asked urgently. 0

“I’ve been suspended!” Lingfeng's voice on the other end sounded bitter. 0

I didn’t have time to comfort Lingfeng; I shouted, “Can you do something about controlling the traffic lights? We are on Taiyuan Road in Yuhua District, heading to River District, and the car's speed cannot drop below sixty miles per hour.” 0

After a moment of silence, Lingfeng replied quietly, “Right now, everything at the Public Security Bureau is being handled by the former executive deputy director Wan Dahai. He is part of the Liu Family and is not on my side. The Traffic Police Team is temporarily headed by Meng Wei, who is also Wan Dahai’s person…” 0

“I don’t want to hear any of that; I need an answer!” I said sternly. 0

“I’ll try,” Lingfeng hesitated before hanging up. 0

Just after hanging up, another phone rang. When I answered it, Mr. Qian's sinister laughter came through. “Who are you calling for help?” 0

“110!” I replied irritably. I wasn’t worried about Mr. Qian discovering that I was talking to the real Lingfeng; partly because I hadn’t mentioned anything related to Lingfeng throughout our conversation, and partly because the surveillance camera’s audio quality seemed poor and crackled. 0

“Better not pull any tricks; remember your lives are still in my hands!” Mr. Qian sneered. “Lingfeng, your speed is only 61 miles per hour right now; that number is very dangerous. I'm not joking with you—if I notice the speed is too low or too high, I'll press the remote control.” 0

With that, Mr. Qian hung up. 0

Kong Xuan suddenly jerked the steering wheel again, swerving past a bus and then overtaking a taxi. The taxi seemed to feel provoked and accelerated behind us in pursuit. 0

You idiot, why are you chasing us? 0

"There is a crossroads just ahead." Kong Xuan's voice was somewhat distorted as he said sharply, "What should we do?" 0

"Just go for it!" I replied angrily, "If you ask me, who should I ask? Just rush through, it's just running a red light, right?" 0

Fortunately, luck was on our side; when the van reached the intersection, there was no red light. 0

For three consecutive intersections, we had green lights. I thought to myself, could it be that Lingfeng has found someone he knows? Just as I had this thought, Kong Xuan cursed angrily because the green light at the upcoming intersection had started flashing. By the time we were about twenty meters away from the intersection, the green light had turned yellow. Four vehicles were slowly stopping in the dual lanes ahead, and what drove us crazy was that two buses were stopped in the straight lane while a dump truck was in the left turn lane behind them. 0

This van was only slightly larger than a business vehicle; did we dare to crash into these giants? Motherfucker! How could this dump truck enter the city? Are these traffic police blind? 0

Just as my face turned pale and Rayue screamed loudly, Kong Xuan suddenly turned the steering wheel, knocking over several barrier posts and heading toward the right turn lane. 0

Before I could react, Kong Xuan let out another strange cry and turned the steering wheel back, knocking over several more barrier posts before crashing directly onto the pedestrian walkway and into the intersection. Looking ahead, a taxi and an SUV were crossing the intersection at that moment. Our van slipped between the two vehicles like a fleeting shadow. 0

Behind us were various sounds of brakes screeching, collisions, and honking horns. 0

"Damn, we escaped death! Luckily I remembered that the barrier posts around Yuhua District are all plastic," Kong Xuan chuckled nervously. 0

"Damn, thankfully there was no one at this pedestrian crossing!" I laughed with my heart still racing. Fortunately, this intersection was close to the border between Yuhua District and River District, so there wasn't much traffic or many people around. 0

I patted Rayue on the shoulder; her cheeks were pale without a trace of color, her eyes staring blankly ahead. After patting her twice with no response, I stopped worrying about her and asked Kong Xuan, "There are no more traffic lights ahead, right?" 0

"We still have to pass one more traffic light to enter River District, but it’s okay; that intersection hardly has any cars passing through," Kong Xuan sighed in relief, looking like he had survived a disaster. 0

With a sudden cry, Rayue finally burst into tears. I comfortingly patted her shoulder again and continued asking Kong Xuan, "What’s your current speed?" 0

"60 miles per hour!" 0

"How much fuel do we have left?" 0

"This isn't a problem. When we came out of the Dragon Soaring Prosperity District, the fuel tank was almost full," Kong Xuan glanced at the fuel gauge. "It's enough for us to get through the River District without any issues! By the way, it seems that Mr. Qian can see my speed." 0

Hearing Kong Xuan say this, I felt something was off. After thinking for a moment, I suddenly realized that the camera was positioned where the navigation device is, facing the back of the cabin. It could see me and Rayue, and it wouldn't be surprising if it could also see Kong Xuan. However, there was no way it could see the speedometer. 0

If Mr. Qian could see the speed, then there was only one possibility: he had another camera installed somewhere else. Damn, one camera was already troublesome enough; I didn't expect there to be another one. If there had only been one camera, I had already thought of a way to deal with it, but now that another camera had popped up, my previous plan wouldn't work. 0

No, I needed to find this camera and take care of it. 0

With this thought in mind, I pretended to be loud and said, "Oh no, after that crash just now, the fortune bead Qingcheng gave me is missing." 0

Kong Xuan asked in surprise, "What fortune bead?" 0

I ignored him and began searching frantically in the cabin. Finally, I found a small round hole about the size of a peanut near the ceiling light of the van. Inside seemed to be something glass reflecting light; it looked like this was the other camera. 0

Thinking quickly, I crawled over to Rayue and searched around. Just as my lips were closest to Rayue's ear, I lowered my voice and said, "Help me out; cry loudly!" 0

After saying that, I pretended as if I hadn't found anything and sat back down in my seat with a frustrated expression. 0

Rayue seemed stunned for a moment. After two or three seconds, she suddenly burst into loud tears. Kong Xuan turned his head in surprise and asked, "What's wrong?" 0

I leaned my head against Kong Xuan's seat and took advantage of Rayue's crying to cover my mouth as I quickly said, "Find a place to crash into something." 0

Kong Xuan paused for a moment before softly responding with an "Mm." 0

I took out my phone and pretended to make a call while holding it up to my ear. After a while, Kong Xuan pretended to curse under his breath and turned the steering wheel sharply. The van scraped against the greenery in the middle of the road with a loud screeching sound mixed with Rayue's cries. Everyone in the vehicle was thrown around, and taking this opportunity, I forcefully threw my phone at that camera on the ceiling. 0

I hoped I aimed correctly; I silently prayed as Fatty's face flashed through my mind. Damn, if he were here, he would definitely hit it right on target. 0

With a bang, my phone hit the roof of the van. Focusing intently on it, I saw that the camera already had a crack forming. Coincidentally, due to the distortion at that spot, it perfectly blocked the lens of the camera. This meant that even if I hadn't destroyed the camera completely, Mr. Qian wouldn't be able to see what was happening on our side anymore. 0

I secretly rejoiced as I picked up my phone, pretending to be angry and shouted, "Lingfeng, how do you drive? You made my phone fall and break." 0

Kong Xuan also complained about the rough road. Although he didn't know what I was doing, he still tried hard to play along with my act. His professionalism was far superior to that of many domestic artists. Those guys, I don't know what's wrong with them now; instead of acting properly, they go off to be judges, especially on singing competition shows. Do they even know what Stanislavski would think of their lack of focus? 0

Soon, Mr. Qian's call came in, angrily asking, "Zhong Zhengnan, what's going on over there?" 0

"What do you mean what's going on?" I feigned ignorance. 0

"What just happened?" Mr. Qian demanded. 0

"Lingfeng was driving too fast and hit the median strip, causing my phone to break. But it was my own phone that broke; the one you gave me is fine," I sighed dramatically. 0

Mr. Qian paused for a moment, seemingly not wanting to mention the smashed camera on the car roof. He huffed and said, "Don't play tricks on me; I can see you. Now, head towards Jigong Mountain Tunnel." Then he hung up. 0

Jigong Mountain is located at the northern border between River District and Yuhua District, standing at an elevation of 181 meters. It is the highest peak in Star City, with the television station's satellite tower set up at its summit. Originally a desolate area, the government funded the construction of Jigong Mountain Tunnel years ago to develop River District. However, due to the withdrawal of major investors from River District, there have been very few vehicles passing through Jigong Mountain Tunnel lately. Recently, it seemed that Huang Jianguo's Earth Group was planning to develop a villa project on Jigong Mountain, conducting surveys and excavations for quite some time before it fell through for some reason. 0

Hearing we were heading to Jigong Mountain Tunnel puzzled me because there is no signal inside the tunnel. If we entered the tunnel, how would Mr. Qian remotely control the bomb? From what I understood, Mr. Qian's remote control principle should involve a mobile phone attached to the bomb; as long as a call goes through here, it would receive a signal and explode. 0

However, putting those thoughts aside for now, the most important thing is that without the rear camera monitoring us, I would have a way to deal with the bomb right under Mr. Qian's nose. 0
