Zhong Kui's Diary
Wen Jianru paused for a moment, then suddenly realized and slapped his forehead, laughing heartily: "I understand now! In our underwater world, these land items are naturally the most precious, but I didn't expect that for you living on land, these are just ordinary things! Haha, it's my oversight, it's my oversight. Zhuo Wei, change the dishes immediately!"
Zhuo Wei was about to give orders when I quickly stopped him and said with a smile, "Just eat a little; let's focus on the main business first."
Wen Jianru nodded: "That works too. After we resolve the Turtle Chancellor's matter, let's have a drink and become friends."
After the meal, Zhuo Wei had a toothpick in his mouth and drew a teleportation array at the dining table, the same array that the Fishman used to bring me into the Dragon Palace. He took out the Mysterious Realm Golden Sphere and stepped into the array. The next moment, I was teleported to the seabed, and the Big Pit I had seen in the video appeared right in front of me.
Above the pit's opening was a transparent Barrier, like a thin film, undulating in the seawater. This film emitted a soft yet bright white light, illuminating an area of several hundred meters as if it were daytime. Below the Big Pit was even clearer; I saw that huge Giant Turtle going crazy down there, standing like a person and flailing its arms and legs, throwing punches and kicks—one moment it was like a black tiger clawing at its heart, and the next it was like a monkey stealing peaches—just like a martial arts master.
Could it be that this fellow has been watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too much?
Since we were underwater, I gestured to Wen Jianru, pointing at the Giant Turtle and then at myself, making a walking motion with my Index Finger and Middle Finger to indicate how I should get down there.
I wasn't sure if Wen Jianru understood me; he paused for a moment and pointed at Zhuo Wei. I turned to look at Zhuo Wei, who was pointing at the edge of the Big Pit and mimicking a jumping motion.
Is he telling me to jump down?
Seeing my confusion, Zhuo Wei patted my shoulder and wrote a few words in the sand: "Just jump down; it's fine."
I quickly replied, "But how do I get back?"
"As long as you wake up the Turtle Chancellor, this Restriction will naturally break."
"What if I can't defeat him?"
"How could that be? You're much stronger than I am."
Thinking about it, Zhuo Wei is known as the strongest expert in the Dragon Palace; otherwise, he wouldn't also serve as the captain of the security team. The Turtle Chancellor shouldn't be his opponent, and since Zhuo Wei isn't my opponent either, I naturally have the upper hand against the Turtle Chancellor.
I stood up, stretched my limbs, and walked to the edge of the pit. I poked at the thin membrane with my toes and was surprised when my toe easily pierced through it without feeling anything unusual.
Retracting my foot, I turned back and made a 'K' gesture to Wen Jianru and Zhuo Wei, then stepped into the Barrier. It felt like I was passing through a bubble; both inside and outside the pit were filled with seawater. Once inside, I began to sink down along the wall of the pit. This pit was about thirty meters deep, and just as I was about to reach the bottom, the Turtle Chancellor in the middle of the Big Pit seemed to notice me and charged toward me frantically.
Is this creature really a turtle? Throughout my life, whether watching animated series or hearing stories, all turtles I've known are slow. But now, this Giant Turtle was charging at me with a speed like a speeding truck.
I raised my hand and unleashed a Nine Divine Thunder. To avoid killing the Turtle Chancellor with one blow, I decided to start with the lowest-level Spell.
A bolt of lightning as thick as an arm struck the Turtle Chancellor's shell. He seemed completely unaware and continued charging toward me; at this moment, he was still about seventeen or eighteen meters away.
I never thought that one Nine Divine Thunder would be enough to deal with the Turtle Chancellor. I had already prepared a Five Thunder Strikes Spell in my hand. Seeing this, I flicked my wrist again, and hundreds of bolts of lightning instantly struck the Turtle Chancellor. This time, the area of effect was larger; half of the lightning hit his shell while the other half struck his head and limbs. Even his tail—uh, I got confused there; that was his tail—was hit by several bolts of lightning.
The Turtle Chancellor trembled all over, releasing a few bubbles from his mouth. He stood still for a second or two before charging at me again as if nothing had happened.
Wow, you're quite resilient.
I waved my hand to cast a Thunderous Strike. Instantly, the entire Big Pit was filled with lightning. The white lightning resembled long dragons covered in spikes, twisting and rolling as they rushed toward the Turtle Chancellor.
Now you should understand how powerful this is.
Unexpectedly, it seemed that the Turtle Chancellor also recognized the threat of lightning. He quickly retracted his head, limbs, and tail into his shell. As a result, all the lightning struck against his shell; white strands of light danced across its surface while his black shell stood firm like a solid fortress, repelling all the lightning outside.
After the lightning faded away, the Turtle Chancellor poked its head out. In its gaze, I saw a hint of mockery, a touch of ridicule, and a sense of disdain. It was as if it looked down on me, challenging me to come again.
Angered, I didn't care whether I would kill this creature or not and raised my hand to unleash a Wildfire.
A large fireball from the Basin fell like raindrops, filled with murderous intent as it flew toward the Turtle Chancellor. The Turtle Chancellor used the same trick again and withdrew its head into its shell. When these fireballs struck the shell, there was no expected scene of roasting the Giant Turtle; that layer of black shell seemed as tough as ancient black iron, not even turning red.
Once all the fireballs had disappeared, the Turtle Chancellor poked its head out again, looking at me with disdain. It even extended a front paw and shaped it into a Middle Finger gesture.
Damn! This creature is too defiant. You should know that the Giant Turtle has no toes on its limbs; being able to shape its wing-like front paw into a Middle Finger is nothing short of a miracle. This fellow is truly a VIP among beasts, yes, even a P among VIPs.
At the same time, I couldn't help but curse Zhuo Wei in my heart. This guy is just a big fraud; he is the strongest in his Dragon Palace, yet his Level is only Master-Level. But now, as a Grandmaster Level expert, I have used all my means and still cannot deal with a turtle in the Dragon Palace. Damn it, Zhuo Wei must be hiding something.
With no other choice, I unleashed another Wildfire and kicked hard to swim upward toward my direction.
Soon, I reached the Barrier and reached out to touch it but found that the Barrier above was as hard as steel. Frowning, I unleashed dozens of lightning strikes at the Barrier; amidst the electric flashes, the Barrier remained unmoved.
Frustrated and angry, I looked up and saw Zhuo Wei standing outside the Barrier, anxiously gesturing at me with frantic movements. I had no idea what he was trying to tell me.
I pointed at the turtle and shook my hand, indicating that I couldn't do anything about it.
Zhuo Wei shook his head vigorously, scratching his ears and pondering for a moment. Suddenly, he slapped his forehead as if he thought of a solution. He opened his mouth and blew out a bubble the size of a faceplate, gestured some runes, then put his head inside the bubble for a few words before retreating. He bit his finger and smeared some blood on the bubble; with a strong push, the bubble passed through the Barrier and wobbled its way to me.
Holding the bubble in confusion, Zhuo Wei made a gesture indicating that I should place it next to my ear and then pop it. Could this bubble be used for communication?
I placed the bubble next to my ear and poked it hard; although it didn't burst, I heard Zhuo Wei's voice: "It's useless to compare spells with the Turtle Chancellor; its shell can withstand any magical power. You can only use physical attacks against it. So you need to teach it a lesson with your fists. Your strength lies not in your magic but in your physical prowess."
What the hell are you joking about, teaching him a lesson with my fists? As soon as he retracts into his shell, am I supposed to punch and kick the shell?
The Wildfire spell behind me has already ended, and the Turtle Chancellor has poked his head out, squinting around. His gaze found me, and with a powerful push from the bottom of the water, he shot towards me like a bolt of lightning.
Damn, I've already tried the Grandmaster Level spells Thunderous Strike and Wildfire on this turtle, and they were completely ineffective. It seems I can only follow Zhuo Wei's suggestion and give it a shot with my fists.
Grinding my teeth, I took a breath in the Mystical Realm and casually stuffed the golden ball into the Mustard Seed Pendant. Since this old turtle is immune to any magical power, it would be troublesome if he accidentally destroyed the ice stick upon contact with the Mystical Realm. After securing the golden ball, I pushed off the wall of the pit with my right leg and shot towards the Turtle Chancellor like an arrow released from a bow.
The Turtle Chancellor was getting closer to me.
Ten meters...
I could see the disdain in his eyes.
Five meters...
I could see the pattern on the shell on his shoulder.
Three meters...
I noticed a necklace around his neck; the pendant was an ancient bronze plate, about palm-sized, looking both iron-like and copper-like, very rustic.
Two meters...
I could see my own reflection in his eyes.
One meter...
At that moment, my body suddenly shrank, curling up into a ball. As my hands reached the head of the Turtle Chancellor, I flipped my palms over, fingers turning into claws, gripping his head tightly. Using this leverage, I swiftly expanded my body, like a rubber band suddenly stretching out, flipping onto the Turtle Chancellor's back shell. I lunged forward quickly, wrapping my left arm around the Turtle Chancellor's neck with all my strength, while my right hand tightened into a fist and aimed a punch at his head.
Just you wait, I'll strangle you!
If I can't strangle you to death, I'll beat you to death. If I can't beat you to death, then I'll strangle you again.
The Turtle Chancellor was momentarily stunned, then began shaking his head vigorously as if trying to break free from my grip.
I dared not relax; I tightened my left hand around his neck and gradually sat up straight using my waist strength, pulling back with all my might while raining down punches with my right hand.
After struggling for a while, the Turtle Chancellor suddenly stopped resisting and began to sink rapidly. I didn't care about him and kept hitting him. Just as he was about to fall to the bottom of the pit, the Turtle Chancellor suddenly flipped over onto his back.
In an instant, I understood the Turtle Chancellor's intention—this beast actually wanted to flip me underneath him and use his body weight to crush me.
Cursing inwardly, I thrust my right hand forward and gripped the Turtle Chancellor's neck tightly with both hands. With a forceful push of my legs, I rolled to the left side like a monkey, turning halfway around his neck.
At that moment, the Turtle Chancellor's back finally hit the bottom of the water with a dull thud. A tremendous force surged through me, causing me to loosen my grip on his neck slightly. The Turtle Chancellor seized this opportunity and pulled his neck back into his shell.
