After resting for about ten minutes, once the cooldown time for the portal was over, I summoned the portal, set the location coordinates, pushed the door open, and shone my flashlight into an endless expanse of primitive forest.
The three of us walked over, just as we finished packing up the portal, a loud whistle sounded. Following the sound with my flashlight, I saw a golden-haired, red-eyed wildman standing on a large tree branch ahead, towering at nearly three meters tall.
"Oo... oo..." The wildman seemed very angry, its features twisted under its yellow hair, as if questioning why we suddenly intruded into its territory.
"How dare you!" I casually released a spherical bolt of lightning that struck the branch beneath it.
With a crack, the thick branch was severed by my lightning.
However, the Golden-Haired Wildman reacted extremely quickly. At the moment the branch broke, it leaped into the air, tracing an arc as it grabbed onto another branch three meters away.
Gripping the branch with one hand, its body spun like a windmill in mid-air. Just as it was nearly upside down above the branch, it let go and rolled in mid-air, landing on the branch. With a shake of the branch, the Golden-Haired Wildman pointed at us and roared angrily.

Another bolt of lightning struck and severed the branch it was holding onto.
As the wildman screamed sharply, it fell rapidly towards the ground. Just before hitting the ground, it curled up and then suddenly unfolded, managing to move a distance in mid-air. Thanks to this movement, it grabbed onto the trunk of a large tree. In an instant, with a sliding sound, the Golden-Haired Wildman climbed to the treetop and let out a piercing cry before fleeing from there.
"Is it going to call its kind for revenge?" Song Xi asked.
"I don't know," I shook my head and replied. "Most areas of Shennongjia have already been developed; there aren't many places left for wildmen to survive. Therefore, their numbers shouldn't be too high. Even if it calls over three or five wildmen, what’s there to be afraid of?"
Shen Sipan said, "What if there are hundreds or thousands of these wild people?"
"Shut your crow's mouth!" I couldn't help but feel furious.
Last time at Changbai Mountain Pool, there was a Water Monster lurking beneath the water, and it turned out there really was a Water Monster. The Eternal Redwood is easy to understand, but how do I explain the third root?
As far as I know, the largest redwood in the world is called General Sherman; it is located in California Redwood National Park and has a diameter of nearly ten meters. Even so, this tree is only about 2,200 years old.
If there really is an Eternal Redwood here, then damn it, this tree must have a diameter of at least twenty or thirty meters, right?
I set my flashlight to high beam mode and shone it around but couldn't see this giant redwood at all. In fact, I didn't even see any trees with a diameter over two meters.

"Even if we find wild people, we won't be able to communicate with them," Song Xi sighed from the side.

Although it seemed like we had plenty of time, that wasn't necessarily true because we couldn't find that Eternal Redwood. "How do you know that a helicopter up there will definitely spot the Eternal Redwood?" Shen Sipan frowned.
"How could they not find it?" I replied in surprise. "It's probably much taller than the surrounding trees!"
"Ghost Brother, you're mistaken," Song Xi interjected. "As far as I know, these ancient trees aren't actually very tall. There's a saying: 'A tree that stands out in a forest will surely be blown down by the wind.' If a tree grows too tall in a forest, it risks being toppled by strong winds."
That does seem plausible; I took a deep breath. "So what should we do?"
"There is only one way," Song Xi said slowly. "Catch a wild man and let it lead the way!"
"What the hell, weren't you just saying that you couldn't communicate with the wild man?" I looked at Song Xi with disdain.
"We can't communicate, but we have experts, right?" Song Xi smiled.
"What do you mean?"
"The zookeeper who deals with monkeys all the time can help. We can grab a zookeeper who specializes in feeding monkeys; the wild man should be similar to a monkey, and maybe he can communicate," Song Xi suggested with a grin.
"That's true," I nodded, then frowned. "It's not hard to catch a zookeeper, but the biggest problem now is how to catch the wild man."
"Then we can only rely on luck!" Shen Sipan and Song Xi both shook their heads and smiled wryly.
Once the cooldown time for the portal was over, I asked Shen Sipan and Song Xi to wait for me at the original spot while I returned to Star City Zoo. I inquired about the address of the zookeeper who specialized in feeding monkeys. Upon finding his house, I didn't bother knocking and kicked open his door. As soon as I woke him up, the zookeeper began to shout angrily, spewing a torrent of foul language. In desperation, I picked up a branch as thick as my arm from the ground and broke it in half with one strike, then gestured at his neck with my palm.
The zookeeper immediately calmed down and said seriously, "Good evening, everyone. I'm Lu Jian, a staff member from Star City Zoo. How can I assist you?"
"Later, after we catch the wild man, you will help us communicate with him!" I said with a smile.
"No problem! Leave it to me!" Lu Jian pounded his chest confidently.
This is quite a talent. The three of us exchanged glances and couldn't help but chuckle.
Next, I led them aimlessly around, hoping for a stroke of luck. Suddenly, I bumped into a tree with a thud. Rubbing my forehead, I looked up and thought, "Wow, the Eternal Redwood is actually here..."
