Zhong Kui's Diary
First, I had Wen Qianqian change into An Ran's diving suit, then put on Fatty's diving suit over it. I tore a few fluffy knit sweaters and stuffed them into the layers of both suits. After thinking for a moment, I wrapped several layers of clothing around her head, leaving only her eyes exposed. Although she looked a bit bulky, she should be able to squeeze through the gap above without much trouble.
As for the firearms, Wen Qianqian asked me for a Shotgun. It seemed she was quite confident in her shooting skills. The Submachine Gun fires continuously, while the Shotgun is single-shot.
Next, we arranged clothes in a large circle on the ground below the entrance of the Cellar. This way, when Wen Qianqian dropped down, she would land right in the fire circle and avoid being stung by the Jade Bee. After setting up the clothes, I took out all the Erguotou and placed them aside. After some thought, I put a few bottles back, saving them for our retreat.
Fatty was about to open a bottle of wine when I quickly stopped him. The high alcohol content and strong smell of Erguotou could raise Yang Guo's suspicions.
As for whether Yang Guo would see us, I wasn't worried at all. Throughout this process, Wen Zhan had been pointing his gun at the gap; as soon as Yang Guo poked his head out, he would shoot and blow his head off. I believed that cautious Yang Guo would think of this too and wouldn't joke with his life.
Once everything was ready, Fatty suddenly said, "Why don't we try pulling the rope hard to drag Yang Guo to the gap?"
I thought about it and realized that this method was worth a try; Fatty was indeed clever! Just as I was about to nod in agreement, Early Summer interjected: "What if Yang Guo is standing several meters away from the entrance of the Cellar? Pulling him would only make him stumble, and most people would instinctively let go when caught off guard rather than being pulled over. This approach would backfire."
Uh, that's true; this plan is not feasible—what an idiot Fatty! I still had to proceed according to the original plan.
The basket was lowered again, and with our help, Wen Qianqian carefully stood on top of it and grasped the Rope cautiously. The Rope was slack; if Wen Qianqian grabbed it too hard, Yang Guo would notice.
I shouted loudly, causing the Rope to tighten instantly, and then Wen Qianqian began to rise slowly.
I stood on Fatty's shoulders beneath the entrance of the Cellar. As soon as Wen Qianqian leaped up, I would push her up. Wen Zhan kept his gun pointed at the gap while Early Summer held an Erguotou in her left hand and a lighter in her right hand, ready to smash the bottle and ignite the clothes once the gun fired above.
Four meters, three meters, two meters...
Wen Qianqian slightly crouched down to prepare for the upcoming burst of energy. We all held our breath, waiting for that critical moment.
In an instant, my heart raced uncontrollably—thump thump—and my palms were slightly sweaty.
Just as Wen Qianqian's head was about a foot away from the gap, she suddenly yanked on the Rope and shot upward with all her might. At the same time, she raised her hands with the Shotgun angled upward. Seeing this, I instinctively grabbed her waist and pushed her up with force. Wen Qianqian shot out like an arrow released from its bow directly through that gap.
Bang! A loud gunshot echoed from above, and at the same time, we all heard a soft thud.
As we heard that sound, our hearts jumped into our throats. What happened? Did it succeed? The sound seemed like a bullet hitting flesh, but we couldn't see the situation clearly.
No matter what, Yang Guo should have let out a scream, right? But now there was complete silence. What did that mean?
Bang! Another gunshot rang out.
At this moment, Rope loosened, and the basket that had been swaying at the gap suddenly fell to the ground with a clatter, making a ping-pong sound. The entire Rope also slid down in a messy heap.
"Done!" Wen Qianqian's voice came from above, followed by the sound of her quickly moving the Bluestone on the Iron Plate.
"Light it!" I shouted urgently to Early Summer.
With a thud, Early Summer smashed the bottle with all her might. With a click, the lighter made a crisp sound, followed by a loud boom as a fireball erupted.
Hearing that Wen Qianqian had succeeded, Wen Zhan hurriedly helped Early Summer smash another bottle. Soon, an enormous fire circle surrounded us. Thanks to the alcohol, the flames soared over a person's height, and thick smoke billowed out. Without Yang Guo's command, the dozens of formations of Jade Bee in the Cellar began to scatter in panic.
Looking up through the gap, we noticed that although smoke was billowing out, most of the Jade Bee had already dodged aside. However, due to the absence of flames, there were still hundreds of Jade Bee rapidly circling around the entrance of the Cellar, seemingly attacking Wen Qianqian. From our angle, we couldn't see what was happening to her, but from the constant sound of stones being moved, it was clear that despite being attacked by the Jade Bee, she didn't stop moving the stones. This made me both anxious and angry; after all, for ease of shooting, Wen Qianqian wasn't wearing any protective clothing on her hands.
"Throw a torch up here!" I shouted sternly.
Wen Zhan looked anxious but reacted quickly. He immediately used the bayonet of his Submachine Gun to wrap up two burning pieces of clothing and leaped up to hand me the Submachine Gun. I extended the clothes out through the gap and rubbed the bayonet against it before tossing the burning clothes beside the entrance of the Cellar.
"Keep going!" I threw the Submachine Gun back to Wen Zhan.
He quickly picked up another blazing piece of clothing and handed it to me. Meanwhile, Early Summer wasn't idle either; she picked up a broken sword from in front of the smashed basket and lifted another burning piece of clothing before passing it to Fatty, who swiftly transferred it to my hands.
Before long, I had piled up a circle of burning clothes around the gap above. The roaring flames combined with thick black smoke caused most of those attacking Wen Qianqian to flee. However, over a hundred Jade Bee still lingered nearby, occasionally diving down rapidly.
The sound of stones being moved above never ceased, occasionally interrupted by Wen Qianqian's muffled groans. We couldn't help but wonder how many needles Jade Bee had stung her with. Hearing those sounds made us anxious, but there was nothing we could do to help; we could only feel helpless. Meanwhile, Wen Zhan seemed to have gone mad, desperately shoving clothes into my hands while shouting hoarsely, "Qianqian, are you okay?"
After about seven or eight seconds, the sound of stones being moved stopped, and then we heard Wen Qianqian's weak voice: "Ghost Brother, the stones on top of the Iron Plate have all been moved. Now only the Iron Plate is left."
All the stones have been moved?
I pushed off Fatty's shoulder with all my strength, placed my left hand on the gap, and hung in mid-air. I twisted my waist and braced my right hand against the bottom of the Iron Plate, shouting loudly, "Qianqian, I'll count to three, and we push together."
Before I finished speaking, there was a thud as if something had fallen to the ground, but Wen Qianqian did not respond. It seemed that the sound was her collapsing.
"Qianqian!" Wen Zhan shouted from below.
In a moment of desperation, I yelled in anger and pushed with all my might. The Iron Plate above was shoved aside, and the gap overhead suddenly widened by half. Because of my push, several burning clothes that I had piled up nearby fell down on me.
With a loud bang, I felt a burning sensation on my scalp followed by the smell of singed hair. I quickly brushed the burning clothes off my head without caring about anything else and grabbed the edge of the Cellar entrance. With a pull-up motion, I climbed up.
When I got up there, I saw Wen Qianqian lying on the ground. The clothes that had covered her head were now scattered, revealing a half-swollen face. Her hands were swollen like dumplings as she lay there unconscious. My nose tinged with sadness as tears welled up in my eyes. Despite being stung so badly by Jade Bee, Wen Qianqian still selflessly cleared obstacles for us.
One meter to her left lay a man's corpse, his face mangled by shotgun blasts and his chest punctured with a large hole, blood and flesh in disarray. I couldn't see his heart; it must have been shattered. Judging by his clothing, this man was undoubtedly Yang Guo.
No wonder he didn't make a sound; he had been shot in the head by Wen Qianqian.
There was no time to think about that now because above Wen Qianqian hovered dozens of Jade Bees, fearless and swirling around. Occasionally, one would dive down and sting Wen Qianqian's face.
Seeing this made me furious. I quickly reached into my pocket and grabbed a Big Iron Pickaxe. I stirred two burning pieces of clothing wildly and charged at those Jade Bees with the pickaxe swinging wildly.
After knocking down about ten Jade Bees, the remaining ones buzzed away to a distance before circling back with others.
Looking up, I saw thousands of Jade Bees still swirling in the distance, not leaving but seemingly waiting for the flames to extinguish.
Damn, these beasts still want to take advantage?
For now, I couldn't worry about that. I placed my fingers in front of Wen Qianqian's nose; there was still faint breathing, so it seemed she was just unconscious. I turned around and pulled off all the Iron Plates, signaling Fatty to throw up the Climbing Rope. After securing the Rope, Wen Zhan was the first to climb up, grabbing Wen Qianqian tightly and calling her name loudly.
Soon, Fatty and Early Summer also climbed up. I instructed Fatty to use his Shotgun to bind some clothes together to make a torch. We needed to leave this Training Room quickly; those clothes wouldn't burn for long.
Wen Zhan seemed to remember something. He put down Wen Qianqian and rushed madly to Yang Guo's corpse, frantically tugging at him. Fatty shouted, "Old Wen, what are you doing? Hurry up and hold onto Wen Qianqian and get out of here."
Early Summer said, "He's looking for the antidote."
Sure enough, Wen Zhan found a Porcelain Bottle on Yang Guo's body. He opened it and poured a little into his palm; inside was Pink Powder. He sniffed it and frowned slightly, then squatted beside Wen Qianqian, holding her in his arms and pouring some powder into her mouth. I quickly handed over a bottle of mineral water. Wen Zhan gave me a grateful glance as he brought the water to Wen Qianqian's lips and poured a little in.
At this point, we couldn't wait for Wen Qianqian to wake up. I shouted, "I'll lead the way; Old Wen, you hold Qianqian in the middle; Early Summer will cover from the side; Fatty, you bring up the rear!"
Everyone agreed, and I waved the torch in my hand as I led the way, while Early Summer and the others closely followed behind.
