Star Dragon God
The inexplicable sharp pain made Huo Feng cry out, feeling as if his heart was about to shatter. At that moment, the Golden Light Membrane surrounding the drop of blood suddenly lit up, and Huo Feng immediately realized that the sensation had vanished, and he no longer felt pain.
The beast stared deeply at Huo Feng, leaving him somewhat bewildered. At this time, the Demon Lord noticed that the beast was fixated on Huo Feng and quickly prepared to escape.
It seemed that the beast had been paying attention to its surroundings as well. When the Demon Lord began to flee, the beast suddenly turned around and swiped its enormous claw at the Demon Lord.
With a scream, the Demon Lord fell to the ground, his black helmet cracking into pieces. There were several bloody gashes on his abdomen, leaving him in a pitiful state; without that black helmet, he would have undoubtedly died from that blow.
Ignoring his injuries, the Demon Lord quickly got up and prepared to flee again. The beast, however, seemed uninterested in pursuing him. It let out a roar towards the front, causing the Demon Lord to spit out a mouthful of blood and freeze in place.
At this moment, Chief Liu, despite being far away, felt a wave of dizziness wash over him, rendering him immobile. The most unfortunate was Huo Feng; already severely injured, he coughed up blood from the roar and instantly lost consciousness.
After its roar, the beast did not stop there. It opened its massive mouth once more and shot an icy blade towards the heart of the Demon Lord with a whistling sound.
A large hole appeared in the Demon Lord's chest, and he collapsed to the ground without getting back up—certainly dead beyond recovery. This scene made Chief Liu, who was hiding not far away, hesitate to come forward to rescue Huo Feng.
The beast glanced over at Chief Liu. Feeling its gaze, Chief Liu's heart skipped a beat. However, the beast only looked for a moment before turning back to Huo Feng, who lay unconscious and barely breathing. It extended its right claw's index finger and tapped its long sharp nail against its left index finger before placing it on Huo Feng's mouth, allowing drops of blood to slide down Huo Feng's throat and into his body.
Chief Liu watched this scene with curiosity, forgetting about escaping. Just then, the beast withdrew its finger and instantly vanished from sight. Chief Liu was taken aback when it suddenly reappeared right in front of him. The enormous beast's sudden appearance startled Chief Liu so much that he fell onto the ground.
The beast grabbed Chief Liu with its claw without regard for his astonished expression and flashed over to Huo Feng's side. It placed Chief Liu next to Huo Feng and quietly observed him.
At this moment, Chief Liu forced himself to calm down and thought, "I can't panic; it seems like this beast is trying to save the barely alive Huo Feng by giving him blood. It must have brought me here for help. No matter what, I need to test my guess; perhaps there's still a glimmer of hope."
"Do you want me to help save him?" Chief Liu asked tentatively.
The beast continued to watch him quietly, and Chief Liu suddenly realized he was talking to a magical creature that couldn't understand him. He had no choice but to try anyway.
Chief Liu bent down and reached out to examine Huo Feng's body. To his shock, he discovered that Huo Feng's bodily functions had weakened to their limit, his complexion pale, and he had lost too much blood. However, what surprised Chief Liu even more was that there was a drop of blood circulating within Huo Feng, slowly restoring the areas it passed through.
When this drop of blood flowed into the heart chamber, Chief Liu found that he could no longer probe further. He tried several times but still could not see anything, ultimately having to give up. Just as he was about to do so, a gentler yet strangely infused blood flowed back from the heart chamber. Once the Blood of the Earth spread throughout Huo Feng's body, the internal injuries had mostly healed.
However, Huo Feng's previous Origin Force was exhausted, and his external injuries had not yet recovered. Therefore, Chief Liu quickly channeled some Origin Force into Huo Feng's body to prevent him from losing his cultivation due to exhaustion. Nevertheless, it seemed that Huo Feng would take some time to wake up.
Chief Liu then properly treated the wound on Huo Feng's back and let out a long sigh. He thought to himself, "Who exactly is Huo Feng? He was clearly killed and fell into the lake but miraculously came back to life. Now he has this powerful beast assisting him, along with his cultivation speed and combat strength exceeding that of others at the same level."
Chief Liu couldn't make sense of it all, so he shook his head and looked up at the beast. At that moment, the beast extended its claws and picked up Huo Feng, placing him in front of Chief Liu. Nervously, Chief Liu reached out to take Huo Feng, wondering, "Does it want me to take Huo Feng away?"
Just then, something happened that made Chief Liu's eyes nearly pop out. The beast's body suddenly began to shrink rapidly until it stopped at the size of a finger, transforming into an adorable little creature.
This series of unbelievable events left Chief Liu seemingly frozen in thought, standing still in shock. At this moment, the transformed beast jumped onto Chief Liu's foot and kicked his leg hard.
Chief Liu was jolted awake by the sudden pain and looked down at the little creature that appeared fearful yet determined. He quickly gathered his wits. The beast glanced at him before running ahead on its legs, looking back to signal for Chief Liu to follow.
Understanding its intention—to have him take Huo Feng back—Chief Liu carried Huo Feng down Black Yan Mountain. Just then, the beast vanished from sight. Chief Liu widened his eyes and looked around but found nothing; he felt much more relaxed and quickened his pace as he carried Huo Feng away, seemingly afraid that the beast would follow him again.
It wasn't until they had walked far away that a beast emerged from the ground where it had disappeared earlier; it was indeed the same one. Now in a form as tall as a human, it dashed toward Shadow Cave.
"Uncle Liu! What are you doing here? Who are you holding?" Nangong Yu exclaimed in surprise.
As Nangong Yu, the Xuan Yuan Young Master, anxiously waited with Xuanran for Huo Feng, they suddenly spotted Chief Liu approaching from a distance, carrying someone in his arms.
Seeing that they were safe, Chief Liu finally felt relieved and quickly made his way to them.
“Brother Huo Feng??????”
“Huo Feng??????”
As he got closer, both of them realized that Chief Liu was holding none other than Huo Feng, who was unconscious. They gasped in shock.
“Uncle Liu, what happened to Huo Feng?????? Is he alright? It's all my fault; if I had been stronger and faced it with him, this wouldn't have happened,” Xuanran asked, filled with guilt.
“Don't worry, he's fine. He just needs some rest and he'll recover soon. Something unusual happened over there; we need to hurry back. I need to report to Lord Mo properly,” Chief Liu said, still shaken by the events on the mountain.
The three of them then sprinted towards the Holy City. Meanwhile, a magical beast emerged from the Shadow Cave, followed by two women, who were the two major Guardians of the Shadow Cave Demon Lord, one of whom was Mu Xue.
The magical beast turned and made a noise at the two women, causing them to bow respectfully in place. After they had left for quite some time, the magical beast transformed back into its previous form, sprouting a pair of delicate wings and flying towards the Holy City.
