Star Dragon God
Huo Feng was completely captivated by the sight before him. The trunk of this large tree was so wide that it could be embraced by five people, and its branches were lush and full.
At the base of the thick trunk was a massive doorway, and there were many smaller doorways on the trunk that were about the same size as the bodies of the Pocket Tribe. Surrounding these small doorways were several petite women and children under twenty centimeters tall.
At that moment, they did not pay much attention to Huo Feng, but instead looked on in fear at the severed tail of the Wind Serpent.
Seeing the body of the Wind Serpent with its broken tail, they clasped their hands in front of their chests and bowed their heads in reverence, saying, “Lord Serpent God, your golden body is immortal, may you bless our tribe. We are willing to live and die together with you.”
After they finished speaking, the Wind Serpent slipped through the large tree's doorway. The women and children of the Pocket Tribe quickly climbed down from the tree to welcome back the returning men.
At this moment, the Bearded Man said to Huo Feng, “These are the women and children of our tribe. The Serpent God must have gone into its nest to recuperate; we should go in as well.”
He then turned to the women and children, saying, “This is our guest; he will be staying with us for a few days. Please do not have any other feelings about it. Alright, everyone disperse.” He gestured for Huo Feng to follow him into the tree hollow.
However, Bing and Phantom Butterfly were reluctant to go inside and continued playing outside. Seeing their adorable appearance, a bold child who was naked ran quickly to Huo Feng's side. He tugged at Huo Feng's pant leg and said in a babyish voice, “Big brother, this pet is so cute! Where did you catch it? Can you give it to me?”
The Bearded Man, who was just about to walk with Huo Feng, suddenly heard this voice and his heart leaped into his throat. That was a magical beast that even the Serpent God could not contend with; how could it be considered a pet? And now someone was asking for it.
The Bearded Man immediately pulled the child away, covering his mouth and anxiously said, “Light, don’t be reckless! Go back quickly.”
Huo Feng smiled at the child and said, “Friend, they are not pets; they are very powerful and are my good friends who have fought alongside me.”
The child scratched his head in confusion, still pondering something when the Bearded Man had already pushed him away.
However, seeing that many other children were curiously surrounding Bing and Phantom Butterfly, the Bearded Man frowned with concern and asked Huo Feng, “They won’t harm these children, will they?”
“Don’t worry; they are very intelligent and won’t harm people indiscriminately,” Huo Feng replied with a smile.
Although Huo Feng reassured him, the Bearded Man still led him into the doorway with some worry.
Upon entering, Huo Feng was even more astonished by the marvelous techniques of the Pocket Tribe. Inside, he saw that the ground was made up of two massive slabs of blue stone, and the entire heart of the tree had been hollowed out.
The Tree Wall is adorned with countless statues resembling the Pocket Tribe on both sides, while a massive Wind Serpent statue stands at the front, beneath which many Pocket Tribe members kneel in worship.
Around the Tree Wall, there are snake-shaped lampstands carved every meter or so, containing glowing beads that illuminate the entire tree hollow.
Next to the entrance, there is a circular ladder carved from the tree itself. Looking up along the ladder, one can see numerous layers above. At the top of this layer, another Wind Serpent is carved, flying out with its wings spread and mouth wide open, above which rests a glowing bead as large as a head.
Huo Feng is immensely shocked; he never expected that these clever Pocket Tribe members could create such grand works. This is simply a massive piece of hollow art.
At this moment, the Bearded Man notices Huo Feng's astonished expression and proudly says, "Each generation has contributed to this since our ancestors migrated here. Although our clan is weak and our cultivation is lacking, we excel in the arts."
Huo Feng is also impressed by their perseverance. He looks at two pieces of blue stone slabs on the ground and asks, "There should be some space underneath, right?"
"That's right; below here is where the Serpent God resides," the Bearded Man replies.
Then he adds, "This layer is where we gather for important matters. Let me take you to the second layer and arrange a place for you to stay."
He leads the way up the ladder but suddenly turns back to Huo Feng and says, "Oh! By the way, my name is Mo Qi, the current clan leader. I haven't caught your name yet."
Huo Feng smiles and replies, "My name is Huo Feng."
With that, he follows Clan Leader Mo Qi to the second layer.
Upon reaching the second layer, Huo Feng sees a different scene. This time he is not captivated by sculptures or living items but rather by the greenery that greets his eyes.
However, this does not mean that the carvings here are inferior to those on the first layer; they are still filled with artistic flair. Here, there are carvings of totem-like figures, and besides the main hall, multiple rooms branch off from it. The doors of these rooms are also adorned with Wind Serpent totem carvings.
Moreover, in the hall, tables and chairs are hollowed out from the tree itself. But aside from the flat and smooth floor, those tables and chairs are covered with delicate green sprouts.
The hall still has a slightly larger opening at the entrance without a door; instead, thin branches hang down there, forming a natural curtain.
At this moment, Clan Leader Mo Qi says, "Our clan reveres nature and loves green. So aside from trimming back those sprouts that grow too large on this layer, we only prune those in our living areas."
Huo Feng can't help but exclaim, "What a wonder of nature; it's truly a masterpiece!"
The clan leader, Mo Qi, invited Huo Feng to sit down, and then took a seat across from him.
At that moment, two women entered, each only covered by leaves in key areas. They both carried wooden trays; one tray held two cups carved with patterns that Huo Feng could not understand, while the other was filled with fruit.
They approached and placed the trays on the table. One of them served the two cups to Huo Feng and the clan leader before leaving.
The clan leader then picked up a cup and smiled at Huo Feng, saying, "This is our special Azure Fruit Wine. The fruit comes from this tree. The wine is fragrant and smooth, and it is not strong at all. Give it a try."
With that, he raised the cup and took a large sip.
Huo Feng also lifted his cup, and as he brought it to his lips, a refreshing scent from nature wafted towards him. Unable to resist, Huo Feng drank it all in one go. After finishing, he couldn't help but smack his lips.
"Hahaha, it tastes good, right? This wine can only be found here. I'll have someone bring you another cup," the clan leader Mo Qi said proudly as he laughed at Huo Feng's reaction.
Suddenly, a panicked scream came from outside. Both Huo Feng and clan leader Mo Qi quickly got up and rushed to the curtain to look down.
