Star Dragon God
The Wind Serpent with blood-red eyes stared intently at the Ore Serpent, causing the Ore Serpent to become as if petrified, completely motionless. Moments later, the eyes of the Ore Serpent also turned blood-red, appearing extremely eerie. However, the advancing ones obediently released their icy bindings and quickly retreated to the throne, returning to their original state.
The Wind Serpent forced a drop of blood from its injured tail onto the throne, which instantly shrank to the size of a palm. The Wind Serpent opened its mouth and inhaled, swallowing the throne into its belly, then its eyes returned to their normal state, collapsing weakly onto the ground.
With the ice bindings lifted, concern rushed to Huo Feng, supporting him as they both gazed at the violently fluctuating Star Domain.
“Boom!”
Suddenly, a loud rumbling sound erupted as the Star Domain shattered. The intense shockwave forced Ice to shield Huo Feng behind its back. Immediately after, an old man in a black robe appeared before Huo Feng. This man was none other than the Boss. However, this time there was no misty veil obscuring his features.
His aged face, filled with deep creases, was surprisingly clean, not even a hint of stubble. As soon as he emerged from the Star Domain, he looked towards the throne and when he realized that the Mineral Throne was missing, his ancient face twisted in rage. He turned back to glare at Huo Feng and the others, but by now Ice had reverted to its true form, emanating a wild aura that instilled fear in him, preventing any outburst.
Suddenly, he noticed the Wind Serpent lying on the ground not far away and seemed to understand something. Just as he moved to attack the Wind Serpent, Huo Feng spoke up: “Ice, take care of him.”
“Alright, big brother, I will avenge you,” Ice replied as it left its original position.
Just as the man was about to touch the Wind Serpent, Ice suddenly extended its claws towards him. A line formed from Ice's claws all the way to the man’s body, freezing everything in between. The temperature of that ice rapidly dropped, causing even the nearby Wind Serpent to be adorned with spots of Ice Flower.
Ice was confident it would freeze him to death with increasingly lower temperatures and had absolute faith in Huo Feng. But developments often defy expectations. Suddenly, a red light beam appeared within the ice sculpture surrounding the man. Although he had been immobilized in a forward-leaning posture, he could now move within that light beam. While he couldn't break free from the ice, he could not be killed using this method either.
Thus, Ice charged towards the ice sculpture and delivered a powerful punch. But at that moment, another anomaly occurred.
The light beam began spinning rapidly; although it looked grandiose, it did not affect the ice sculpture. As the light beam spun faster and faster, it gradually obscured the man's figure from view.
Suddenly, the light beam disappeared, and the person vanished along with it. At this moment, Huo Feng and the others were stunned, but there was no time to dwell on it. The Wind Serpent, having dealt with the serpentine throne, was extremely weakened, and Huo Feng was also gravely injured from battling that person.
At this point, Huo Feng transformed back into human form, and Bing took on the role of a rescuer. He lifted Huo Feng and headed towards the Wind Serpent, intending to carry them both back to the treehouse.
However, just as Bing's claws reached in front of the Wind Serpent, he suddenly stopped. Huo Feng asked in surprise, "Bing, what's wrong?"
"Don't rush back with the Wind Serpent just yet; there are still some matters it needs to handle here. Let me help it recover," Bing said as he set Huo Feng down and extended his claws to lightly press against the Wind Serpent. A faint blue Origin Force slowly seeped into the Wind Serpent's body. Gradually, the Wind Serpent lifted its head and swayed its body a few times before Bing retracted his claws.
While Bing helped the Wind Serpent recover, Huo Feng sat cross-legged on the ground to recuperate. Suddenly, a voice echoed in Huo Feng's mind: "They are conversing; do you want to understand the language of magical beasts and learn their common tongue?"
Upon hearing this voice, Huo Feng opened his eyes and excitedly thought, "Stellar Grandpa, if you can do it, don't keep me in suspense. Of course I want to learn!"
"Hehe! Pay close attention; I'll only transmit it once. If you can't learn it, that's your own problem," said the Seven Star Spirit as it sent a stream of information into Huo Feng's brain.
Following that guidance, Huo Feng quickly learned and finally understood the conversation between Bing and the Wind Serpent.
He heard the Wind Serpent say: "With this Ore Serpent throne, my body can recover without your blood."
"This cave actually appeared tens of thousands of years ago when someone not from this realm came here to build this Mineral Palace. My ancestors were the rulers of this green plain and its strongest beings at that time. When they sensed an intruder, they fought against that person. But ultimately, my ancestors were defeated. That person was about to kill my ancestors but suddenly changed his mind and left shortly after, leaving my ancestors to guard this palace for him."
"And if we failed to guard it well, there was always a possibility he would return to annihilate our Wind Serpent clan. Thus, our clan has been passed down to my generation, and there is a secret here that we do not know about. However, this throne has been repeatedly instructed to be well protected."
Hearing these words from the Wind Serpent, Huo Feng suddenly became excited, his eyes sparkling as he looked at the Wind Serpent and asked, "You mean that person who built this was from another realm? Do you know how they arrived and how they left?"
Hearing Huo Feng's voice, the Wind Serpent looked at him in surprise. Huo Feng then realized that in his excitement, he had spoken in human language, so he repeated himself in the clumsy beast language he had just learned.
At this moment, the Wind Serpent was even more astonished, and Ice stared blankly at Huo Feng. However, Huo Feng was not concerned about their expressions and could not understand the expressions of beasts; he continued to look at the Wind Serpent with anticipation.
Ice could not help but ask, "Big brother, how come you suddenly understand our language and can speak it too?"
"I'll explain that to you later. Wind Serpent, can you tell me if you know how?" Huo Feng continued to look expectantly at the Wind Serpent.
The Wind Serpent shook its large head and said, "I really don't know. I'm not sure if the information got lost in transmission or what, but it seems that the Azure Calamity Nation's palace knows something about it. That person seems to belong to the palace because every year someone from the palace comes here for a short time to investigate."
Huo Feng thought to himself that it seemed he needed to delve deeper into the Azure Calamity Nation to fully understand how it worked. So he said, "Ice, this time I plan to go into the Azure Calamity Nation. You stay here and keep an eye on what the people from Azure Calamity Nation are doing here. Since that's settled, let's head back to the treehouse first."
At that moment, the Wind Serpent said, "You guys go back first. I need to stay here and make sure nothing has been lost since this palace was occupied by them."
"Alright, take care. If anything happens, just ask Ice for help; it will stay here," Huo Feng replied before turning to Ice and saying, "Let's head up now."
With that, Huo Feng and Ice made their way towards the Water Surface, preparing to return to the treehouse for a bit of rest before heading into the Azure Calamity Nation.
