After a moment, Yan'er’s complexion finally returned to a healthy flush, and her breathing became calm and even. Huo Feng withdrew his hand, stood up, and said, “Alright, since you’re so insistent, you can come with us.”
Still immersed in the wonderful sensation of abundant Origin Force, Yan'er scrambled up from the ground, her eyes fixed eagerly on Huo Feng as she exclaimed, “Really? That’s great! I can finally go with you!”
She jumped up in excitement, and Huo Feng shook his head helplessly before turning towards Ling Zhi and the others, saying, “Stop jumping around and hurry up.”
Yan'er stuck her tongue out at Huo Feng's back and muttered, “No fun,” before following closely behind.
Soon, Huo Feng appeared again in front of Ling Zhi and the others, but this time Yan'er was by his side.
The three of them had already started a fire, with one person roasting a beast leg over it.
When they saw Huo Feng arrive with Yan'er, they were momentarily stunned before Ling stood up joyfully and said, “Brother Huo Feng, does this mean you’ve agreed to let Yan'er come with us?”
However, Ling Zhi and Ahua did not share the same excitement. Seeing Yan'er standing next to Huo Feng with such joy, combined with Huo Feng's impressive strength and calm demeanor, both felt a twinge of jealousy that left them somewhat uncomfortable.
Just as Huo Feng was about to respond to Ling's question, Yan'er rushed forward and said excitedly, “Yes! My strong willpower finally moved him! Hehe!”
She turned back to glance at Huo Feng with pride.
Huo Feng couldn’t be bothered with her and walked over to sit by the fire. Noticing the brown fur on the ground next to him, he realized they had killed a low-level Earth Brown Bear. He then removed the last leg and began roasting it.
Seeing that Huo Feng was ignoring her, Yan'er stuck her tongue out at him before sulking over to sit beside him. Ling also felt a bit disappointed but quickly masked it and returned to his spot to continue roasting the bear leg.
However, Ling Zhi and Ahua were not as patient as Ling; they sat in silence while roasting their bear legs.
Huo Feng noticed this but felt helpless and could only think to pay more attention.
Yet Yan'er remained carefree as if unaware of the tension. She leaned closer to Huo Feng, staring at the bear leg in his hands with a grin and said, “Hehe! Are you roasting this for me? Thank you! You’re so nice.”
Huo Feng shot her a glance and replied, “Are you tired? No wonder you're daydreaming.”
Yan'er pouted and said, “Hmph! I don’t care; you have to give me this once it’s done.”
Huo Feng ignored her and continued roasting the leg while occasionally bringing it close to his nose to smell it.
Everyone was silent for a moment, and then Ahua suddenly cut off his bear paw. He walked over to Yan'er and said, "Sister Yan, here, have some. Mine is already roasted."
Yan'er didn't even look at Ahua; she just glanced at the bear paw and replied calmly, "I don't want it. I want the one in Huo Feng's hand."
Huo Feng's expression darkened as he sternly said, "Stop being unreasonable. If you don't want to eat it, then don't. Am I forcing you to eat it?"
Seeing Huo Feng getting angry, Yan'er also got upset. She slapped the bear paw out of Ahua's hand onto the ground and huffed, "If I don't want it, then I don't want it. Who cares?"
She turned around and sat under a nearby tree, sulking by herself. Meanwhile, Ahua stared blankly at the bear paw on the ground. He squatted down to pick up the dusty paw, gently brushed off the dirt, and returned to the fire pit, leaning against it while secretly eating the bear paw.
What others couldn't see was that under the night sky, Ahua's eyes glinted with cold light as he fiercely bit into the bear paw.
At this moment, Ling Zhi, while roasting something, expressed his displeasure, saying, "Huo Feng, how can you treat a girl like that? If she wants to eat what's in your hand, just share some with her. After all, she's a girl."
Huo Feng felt somewhat troubled himself; he thought that being a little cold towards Yan'er would make her less clingy to him, but things only got worse.
Several hours later, everyone had finished eating. Huo Feng began meditating by the fire. Yan'er continued sitting under the tree while Ahua maintained his previous position with his back to the fire.
The fire had changed quite a bit by now. Ling Zhi and his brother sat together quietly watching the flames. Suddenly, Ling leaned over to Ling Zhi and whispered, "Big Brother, Sister Yan must be really hungry right now. I have a piece of leg meat here; why don't you take it to her?"
Ling took out a still warm piece of bear leg meat from the Narcissistic Ring and handed it to Ling Zhi. Ling Zhi was taken aback for a moment but quickly understood his brother's intention and happily said, "Thank you so much, brother."
He took the leg meat and quickly got up from the ground, heading towards Yan'er.
At that moment, Ahua suddenly pulled out a jade bottle and drank the liquid inside in one gulp. Then he took out another jade bottle and poured its contents into the fire.
Immediately, a faint blue smoke rose up and dissipated into the air. Soon everyone smelled a subtle fragrance.
Huo Feng frowned and abruptly opened his eyes, saying, "Everyone hold your breath quickly; this fragrance is suspicious."
"Hahaha too late! As long as you smell this fragrance, you won't be able to use Origin Force," Ahua suddenly stood up with a distorted and sharp voice.
Ling never expected Ahua would act this way and asked in confusion, "Ahua, what are you doing?"
However, Huo Feng guessed why Ahua was acting like this and said, "Ahua, don't do anything foolish; being this impulsive won't get you what you want."
Upon hearing Huo Feng's voice, Ahua became even angrier. He walked over and kicked Huo Feng hard in the chest with a twisted smile on his face and said, "You deserve to die most of all! And you too! But don’t worry; I won’t let you die painfully. Before you die, I'll make sure you see how I get Yan'er and how I ravage this worthless woman."
Ahua quickly kicked Huo Feng and Ling Zhi to the side, then ominously walked up to Yan'er, looking at her with a fierce expression.
Yan'er was so frightened that she shrank back desperately, her voice trembling as she said, "Ahua, what do you want? Please don't."
Ahua sneered, "You wretched girl, weren't you unwilling to even look at me? Now you know to beg me, huh? Soon, I will slowly tear your clothes off and take good care of you."
He slowly crouched down towards Yan'er, causing her to scream in terror. Meanwhile, the Ling Zhi brothers were continuously shouting, "Ahua, you beast, may you die a horrible death."
"You bastard, let Sister Yan go!"
At that moment, Huo Feng suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood and swiftly moved behind Ahua, kicking hard at Ahua's back.
Ahua abruptly turned around and deflected Huo Feng's kick while grabbing him by the neck. He growled fiercely, "No strength and no speed. Weren't you supposed to be tough? Yan'er is mine now; no one can interfere. Since you want to be a hero saving the damsel in distress, I'll deal with you first."
With that, Ahua tightened his grip, causing veins to bulge on Huo Feng's face.
Just then, a graceful figure flashed out from behind Huo Feng and instantly appeared behind Ahua.
