Star Dragon God
"Ready-made? Where did you get ready-made?" Huo Feng asked in confusion.
The Seven Star Spirit did not respond to Huo Feng's question but said, "You want me to take a look at that scroll."
In this regard, Huo Feng still trusted the Seven Star Spirit, so he gently unfurled the scroll in his palm. On it appeared an ancient confinement halo, and there was a row of black characters on the scroll.
Huo Feng awkwardly recited those characters and then said, "Stellar Grandpa, are you asking me to familiarize myself with the runes on this scroll?"
"This trash scroll, I don't know what kind of nonsense Master got this from. This is just a medium rune scroll among all contract secret arts, and the one you have is the roughest among the medium ones. With this, your compatibility when signing a contract with that beast will only be about fifty percent, and you won't be able to unleash the true power of the Contract Beast, which will also affect you."
Upon hearing this from the Seven Star Spirit, Huo Feng felt hesitant to use it and asked, "So what should I do?"
"Of course, this is relative. When you use this to obtain a flying Contract Beast, your combat power will still increase significantly. I wonder if you want to have a higher compatibility..."
Huo Feng immediately understood that Stellar Grandpa had a better method. He quickly asked, "Stellar Grandpa, I knew you were thinking of me! Please tell me how to use this ordinary rune scroll to achieve higher compatibility with a Contract Beast!"
"This is very simple. I'll teach you an advanced contract secret art that can achieve over ninety percent compatibility. However, you have to agree to one condition of mine, hehe..."
This was the first time Huo Feng heard the Seven Star Spirit talk about conditions with him, so he asked, "What is it? Let me see if I can do it."
"That's not how it works; you have to agree first before I teach you," said the Seven Star Spirit.
Huo Feng felt conflicted. He knew that the Seven Star Spirit had never asked him for anything before; now it was suddenly talking about conditions and being so mysterious. However, thinking about becoming a Sky Knight and obtaining a Contract Beast would significantly enhance his strength made him uncertain.
The voice of the Seven Star Spirit rang out again lightly, "So, have you thought it over?"
In the end, Huo Feng's desire for power overcame his rationality. He was also curious why the Seven Star Spirit was acting this way. So, as if making up his mind, he said, "Alright, I agree. Now tell me everything."
"Then I'll first tell you about this contract secret art and your chosen Contract Beast."
Seven Star Spirit paused for a moment before continuing, "I will directly transmit this advanced contract secret technique into your brain. First, you need to conquer this magical beast. Then, you must drop a drop of your blood onto its forehead. After doing this, immediately begin to silently recite the contract secret technique I taught you. When your blood fully merges with its body and a red light emerges from its forehead, you will have succeeded."
"But you said I don't need to go to the Cloudridge Mountains. What do you mean by that?" Huo Feng finally asked the most critical question.
"That refers to the Phantom Butterfly in your Narcissistic Ring."
Huo Feng was quite puzzled. The Phantom Butterfly indeed had unique abilities, but it didn't seem particularly powerful, and it was so small. How could it carry him? He asked in confusion, "Stellar Grandpa, I've already agreed to help you, so please stop joking with me. The Phantom Butterfly is only the size of a fist."
"You're being foolish. It will grow, and once it reaches a certain level, it will undergo significant changes. It will definitely be able to carry you and provide excellent support in battle. Moreover, your blood has a great effect on magical beasts; it might quickly break through."
After Seven Star Spirit explained, Huo Feng felt relieved. He released the Phantom Butterfly from his Narcissistic Ring and communicated with it using the universal language of magical beasts.
The Phantom Butterfly had long submitted to Huo Feng and was very willing to follow him, so Huo Feng easily understood each other.
Following Seven Star Spirit's instructions, Huo Feng focused his thoughts, drew blood with a cut on his finger, and immediately dropped the flowing blood onto the Phantom Butterfly's head before beginning to silently recite the contract secret technique transmitted by Seven Star Spirit.
After a moment, the contract between Huo Feng and the Phantom Butterfly was finally completed. Huo Feng felt as if there was a special connection between him and the Phantom Butterfly, as if he could sense all of its thoughts.
Huo Feng then asked, " Stellar Grandpa, can you tell me what I need to do now?"
"There's no rush; I will tell you when the time comes."
Since Seven Star Spirit was unwilling to share more details, Huo Feng had no choice but to accept it. Now that he had his Contract Beast, he decided to fulfill his role as a Sky Knight, preparing to return directly.
At that moment, a dark figure flashed out and blocked Huo Feng's path.
The person laughed sinisterly, "I thought you were someone impressive, but it seems you're just a lucky fool who can't think straight. You actually chose a butterfly that can't carry anyone as your flying Contract Beast. I want to see how you plan to defeat the Third Elder."
Upon hearing this, Huo Feng guessed that this person must be one of their own. Seeing that this person had strength comparable to a Master, he became even more certain that this was indeed someone from the Master. It seemed he was in for a tough fight.
Looking at the cloaked figure whose face was obscured, Huo Feng smiled and said, "I won't even need my partner to deal with an old man like you. If you look down on it, it might not even consider your strength worthy."
"Alright, let me weigh you, you brainless fool, and see just how much you really have."
The figure in the cloak was none other than Ling the Elder, who stood beside Master. His movements were ghostly fast, catching Huo Feng completely off guard. Huo Feng barely saw him move; one moment he was standing still, and the next, he appeared right in front of Huo Feng, his shadow lingering for a moment before dissipating.
Huo Feng quickly transformed his arms into Golden Wyvern arms, blocking in front of himself, but Ling the Elder's sudden attack still sent Huo Feng staggering back several dozen yards.
"Not bad, your reflexes are decent. But I can see now that the destruction of Bloodthirsty Manor and the deaths of the Three Generals are related to your abilities. No wonder your earlier move piqued my interest," Ling the Elder said as he charged at Huo Feng again.
This time, Huo Feng began to move while Ling the Elder was speaking. He quickly formed hand seals, and a magic circle appeared beneath him that only he could see.
"Punishment."
At the same time, Crimson Demon Eyes activated. Ling the Elder's figure became completely visible before Huo Feng's strange eyes, and he felt as if he was being seen through by those eyes.
However, he couldn't believe that Huo Feng could be so powerful and continued to charge at him without hesitation. Just as his attack was about to strike Huo Feng's chest, Huo Feng suddenly vanished from sight, triggering "Punishment."
A Light Barrier rose up, enveloping Ling the Elder within it. But to Huo Feng's surprise, it wasn't Ling the Elder inside; it was merely an illusion that vanished in an instant.
Huo Feng was astonished by Ling the Elder's Combat Techniques and how he managed to follow Huo Feng's movements even under such circumstances. Meanwhile, Ling the Elder did not pursue Huo Feng; he too was shocked by the marvel of Huo Feng's "Punishment" and dared not chase after him recklessly. Instead, he watched as a massive light sword descended from above, creating a tremendous roar as it struck the ground, leaving a huge crater.
Ling the Elder had good movement skills but found his attacks relatively weak. If this continued, he would surely suffer losses. Since he only wanted to test Huo Feng's strength, he decided to retreat.
Huo Feng seemed to sense Ling the Elder's intentions and unleashed all the power of his Crimson Demon Eyes. This made Ling the Elder tense up; he felt his Vital Energy surging within him as if it were about to burst forth. This deepened his confusion about Huo Feng's strength, prompting him to quickly control his Vital Energy using Origin Force while attempting to escape without any intent to fight.
However, Huo Feng would not give him a chance to turn things around. Under the influence of Huo Feng's Crimson Demon Eyes, Ling the Elder's speed decreased significantly. Huo Feng immediately used Meteoric Steps to flash in front of him and moved his hands in front of him.
"Dragon Spike!"
Instantly, a flurry of silver-white needle-like Origin Force shot towards Ling the Elder in such numbers that there was no way for him to evade them.
With so many Dragon Spikes attacking him, Ling the Elder had no choice but to retreat with all his might while pointing one hand towards the sky and rapidly moving his lips in a subtle chant.
In an instant, a long cry of an eagle echoed, and countless purple feathers fell. In front of Ling the Elder, they formed a purple feather shield that blocked the Dragon Spikes, neutralizing them.
At this moment, Ling the Elder was already seated on the back of a gigantic purple Azure Feathered Hawk, which was swiftly flying towards Huo Feng. With a flash of purple light in its massive claws, it reached out to grab Huo Feng.
Huo Feng remained motionless. Just as the claws were about to grasp him, his hands suddenly transformed into golden dragon claws, sharp and formidable. He extended his claws and seized the Azure Feathered Hawk's talons, pulling down forcefully. Then, with one claw free, he pointed at the chest of the Azure Feathered Hawk.
"Star Blade"
Instantly, the Azure Feathered Hawk let out a cry of anguish as its chest was pierced. After a pained scream, it crashed to the ground. Ling the Elder did not expect Huo Feng's hands to be so powerful after transforming; this sudden turn of events nearly caused him to fall off the back of the Azure Feathered Hawk.
He looked at his long-time companion, the Contract Beast, dying in such a tragic manner and felt immense pain. His voice trembled with sorrow as he said, "Brother Eagle, I am sorry. I misjudged the enemy's strength, leading to your tragic death."
Huo Feng charged towards him again and calmly said, "Since you are so reluctant to part with it, I will send you to keep it company."
With a flash of Silver Radiance from Huo Feng's hand, Ling the Elder, who clearly cared for his companion, seemed to disregard it entirely. His form became illusory and disappeared from Huo Feng's sight moments later.
However, a smile appeared at the corner of Huo Feng's mouth as he chose not to pursue him further.
