Star Dragon God
In the forbidden area at the top of Xiaoyao Fortress, Huo Feng had not yet awakened, but the two hours were almost up. Sitting in the center of the altar, Duan Huan frowned, wondering why even the “Ethereal Abyss” could only detect part of his Divine Sniper Golden Wyvern bloodline.
However, Duan Huan clearly sensed that there was something unusual lingering in his mind, yet he could not identify what it was. Even the ghostly energy from the “Ethereal Abyss” could not absorb the Dragon Blood within him, which was quite strange; such a situation had never occurred before.
“Perhaps I should keep him here for observation for a while. If it comes to it, I may have to kill him. Otherwise, allowing someone so unpredictable to grow poses a threat,” Duan Huan muttered to himself as he stood up and looked at Huo Feng again, saying, “The time should be about right now.”
At that moment, the black and white streams of energy lowered Huo Feng, laying him flat in the center of the altar. The four Lion-Tiger Beast Statues suddenly seemed to come to life; they stood up from their crouched positions, their eyes glowing white. They began to walk slowly towards Huo Feng from each corner of the altar, each step echoing with a thud on the ground.
When they reached Huo Feng, the four Lion-Tiger Beast Statues stopped. Their white eyes appeared like memory crystal balls, displaying everything from Huo Feng’s past. The four statues, with their eight white eyes, each showed different scenes, all of which appeared in Duan Huan’s mind.
As the images displayed Huo Feng at the Teleportation Array before his transfer, Duan Huan gasped: “One of his companions is actually a purebred Frost Dragon!”
Initially shocked, Duan Huan gradually became sinister, a smirk forming on his lips as he seemed to be plotting something.
Finally, when the scene showed Huo Feng encountering Duan Huan, these images vanished. Instead, white transparent light erupted from their eyes and converged directly above Huo Feng. In an instant, a light sphere roughly the same size as Huo Feng formed above him. The brightness surged and enveloped his body.
Gradually, everything became unclear. Moments later, as the light faded, Huo Feng had vanished from the altar. The four Lion-Tiger Beast Statues slowly returned to their original positions and resumed their crouched forms, turning back into dark stone figures. Meanwhile, Duan Huan stepped forward and left the forbidden area.

Inside a medical hall, in one room, a young man in a white robe lay alone on a bed with his eyes tightly shut and his face somewhat pale as if he had fainted. This person was Huo Feng, who had been directly transported into this room by the four stone sculptures.
At that moment, Huo Feng suddenly opened his eyes wide. He realized he was lying in an unfamiliar room and immediately sat up in shock; hadn’t he gone into that forbidden area? How did he end up here?
Huo Feng recalled how he had inexplicably fainted upon entering the forbidden area, and he remembered seeing Duan Huan's face, which had made him feel uneasy. He quickly checked his body to see if he felt any discomfort or if anything was missing.
However, this examination relieved Huo Feng, as there were no changes in his condition; everything was still as it had been. Yet, he was puzzled as to why Duan Huan had taken him to such a place and made him faint.
At that moment, the voice of the Seven Star Spirit echoed in Huo Feng's mind: "That place is strange; there must be some treasure beneath that altar, but it is very evil. Fortunately, I was there; otherwise, you would have been in grave danger."
Upon hearing this from the Seven Star Spirit, Huo Feng broke into a cold sweat. If he hadn't possessed the Seven Star Inheritance, his life could have ended inexplicably there. However, Huo Feng was also curious about the forbidden area and asked, "Stellar Grandpa, what exactly happened while I was unconscious? What is in that forbidden area? Why did it turn out like that?"
"There is something extremely powerful that devours life imprisoned beneath that altar. I don't know exactly what it is, but Duan Huan seems to be able to control it. Now, everything on that mountain has lost its life and is under the control of that mysterious entity. They used a strange Origin Force in the air to stimulate your brain and make you faint. Then Duan Huan wanted to use that evil power to probe the secrets of your body and intended to drain your blood to transform it into his own power, but I secretly restricted him."
"Indeed very evil; it can absorb others' life force and convert it into its own energy," Huo Feng said in surprise.
At that moment, a middle-aged man dressed in luxurious clothing entered the clinic, accompanied by another middle-aged man with some stubble. The people inside immediately bowed upon seeing them and said, "Fortress Master."
The newcomer was Duan Huan. Seeing everyone bowing to him, Duan Huan simply waved his hand to signal them to continue with their duties. Then he transmitted a message to the middle-aged man beside him: "Go to Room One and check if that kid has woken up. Remember, from now on, you will be responsible for keeping an eye on him, especially when he leaves Xiaoyao Fortress; make sure to watch him closely."
"Yes, Fortress Master," the man replied before walking inside.
Duan Huan then walked into another room, which was where Duan Chongyang was located.
············
That night.
At midnight, the Xiaoyao Fortress was very quiet, as it was not like the bustling city, and no one would dare to cause trouble here.
Inside the medical clinic, Huo Feng had not yet fallen asleep; to be precise, he was not meditating but sitting on the bed, gazing at the moonlight outside. At this moment, Huo Feng was missing his father, who was far away in Otherworld. His father cared for him so much; he must have missed him dearly after such a long time apart. However, when he brought me to this place, I would definitely bring the beautiful Ruo Xi back to see you and live a peaceful life together. Ruo Xi, oh Ruo Xi, where are you? What kind of place is the Beast Cultivation Sect...
At that moment, Duan Yi entered the clinic. In the deep night, there was only one Night Watchman present. Upon seeing Duan Yi, the Night Watchman hurriedly approached and bowed, asking, “Young Lord, why are you here at this late hour?”
Duan Yi glared and angrily replied, “Don’t ask what you shouldn’t; knowing too much is not good for you.”
The Night Watchman stepped back in fright, cursing himself for speaking out of turn, and quickly stammered, “Yes, yes, I understand my mistake.”
Suddenly remembering the words of Second Elder, who advised him to keep a low profile and maintain good relationships with others, Duan Yi softened his tone and said, “I’m just here to check on the elderly person I brought today. You can continue your work; thank you for your efforts.”
This sudden change in attitude left the Night Watchman flattered and he quickly replied, “It’s no trouble at all. It’s commendable that you came to visit the injured at such a late hour; you must be the best candidate for future Fortress Master.”
Flattery seemed to please him; hearing those words made Duan Yi feel secretly delighted. It seemed that Second Elder was indeed right. So, Duan Yi smiled and nodded at the Night Watchman, then walked further inside.
Just as he had taken a few steps, the Night Watchman suddenly added, “Oh, by the way, Young Lord, today the Fortress Master sent his personal Imperial Guard to look after an injured person. I wonder who it could be? The Fortress Master seems quite concerned. Would you like to go check on them too?”
Duan Yi paused in surprise and then seemed to guess something. He turned around with a smile and asked the Night Watchman, “Oh? That sounds good; I’ll go take a look shortly. Which room are they in?”
For some reason, the Night Watchman felt that Duan Yi’s smile was somewhat strange and gave off an unsettling vibe. However, since he had already spoken out of turn, he decided to share everything he knew: “They are in Room One.”
“Room One? That’s quite a nice arrangement,” Duan Yi murmured softly before heading directly toward Duan Chongyang’s room.
Upon entering Duan Chongyang's room, he was found sleeping due to his severe injuries, unable to cultivate. Although he was considered weak in this realm, he still possessed some strength. Sensing someone entering, he quickly opened his eyes and saw Duan Yi pushing the door open. Nervously, he asked, "Who are you?"
"Don't be nervous. I am the Young Lord here. I just have a few questions for you, but you'd better answer honestly." Duan Yi's voice turned cold towards the end.
Hearing that it was the Young Lord, the son of the Fortress Master, Duan Chongyang felt relieved and thought to himself that perhaps the Fortress Master was worried about his injuries and sent his son to check on him at this late hour. However, he didn't dare to be careless and quickly smiled, saying, "Oh! So it's the Young Lord. What brings you to me at this late hour?"
Duan Yi walked directly in front of him and said, "Remember, you must not tell anyone about tonight's events, including my father. Otherwise, I will make sure you die a miserable death."
Duan Chongyang then realized that things were not as he had imagined and quickly replied, "Yes, yes! I will definitely speak without reservation. I promise I won't tell anyone."
"Good that you understand. Now tell me your name. Who is that person called What Peak? What is your relationship with him? And what is your connection with my father?" Duan Yi rapidly fired off his questions.
This put Duan Chongyang in a difficult position. Bai Duanhuan had instructed him not to reveal any information about their origins or his relationship with the Xiaoyao Fortress clan, or else he would face dire consequences. However, if he complied, he could stay in Xiaoyao Fortress to cultivate and would even be taught methods to grow stronger.
Caught between the father and son, Duan Chongyang was unsure of what to do. Yet he remained relatively calm and wondered if there was some discord between Duan Yi and his father.
However, the Fortress Master was still the Fortress Master and certainly more reliable than a young lord who had yet to mature. Thus, he said, "Young Lord, my name is Duan Chongyang. We have no relationship with your father. To be honest with you, I am sworn enemies with that person called What Peak. We both come from a remote place; he has been chasing me relentlessly, which is why I fled there. Fortunately, I encountered the Fortress Master; otherwise, I would have truly met my doom this time."
