Star Dragon God
"But with so many of us still clueless, how can you find him alone?" The Elder seemed overly anxious about Huo Feng's situation, speaking without thinking.
Ruo Xi smiled gently and said, "I have my methods. Please take me to the last place Uncle Huo was seen before he went missing."
In fact, the Elder of the Huo Family was the most anxious about Huo Lianqing's disappearance. Many had already formed ideas while Huo Lianqing was present, and now that the clan leader was gone, things were even more chaotic. If it weren't for the Elder holding things together, there would have been trouble long ago.
The saying "desperate times call for desperate measures" applied here. Although the Elder didn't believe that a young girl like Ruo Xi could have any good solutions, he figured it was worth a try. So he said to Ruo Xi, "Then follow me."
Ruo Xi followed the Elder to Huo Lianqing's study. As the Elder pushed the door open, he said to Ruo Xi, "Miss Ruo Xi, this is where the clan leader last stayed. However, when we were waiting for him to discuss matters, he never came out. We came in to check and found he was missing. No matter how hard we searched, we couldn't find him, and it's been like that until now."
Ruo Xi entered the room and looked around. Then she furrowed her brow and said to the Elder, "Elder, may I stay here alone for a while?"
After hesitating for a moment, the Elder nodded and left the room. Ruo Xi closed the door and immediately formed hand seals to set up a barrier that isolated any external sensing from inside; anyone with a lower realm than hers would be unable to perceive anything.
At that moment, Ruo Xi began speaking as if conversing with someone else: "Spirit Dragon, I need your help again. Can you sense if there have been any unusual presences here?"
A soft voice of a young girl replied, "Sister Ruo Xi, this is nothing for me, Spirit Dragon. Just watch me."
"Don't be careless; this matter is very important to me. Also, make sure not to leave any flaws in your state. If I can't find him and have to return empty-handed, then I won't need you anymore!" Ruo Xi said seriously, though her last remark was a joke.
This Spirit Dragon was not of the same lineage as Huo Feng's dragon bloodline; in fact, Spirit Dragons were entirely different from true dragons. They had always lived alongside dragons. Long ago, when dragons inhabited Dragon Valley in this region, only Spirit Dragons accompanied them. After a significant upheaval and a great war led to the migration of dragons due to time constraints, some Spirit Dragons were left behind.
The Spirit Dragon was not very powerful; its body was only as thick as a human arm and about one meter long. It could speak human language but lacked any offensive capabilities. However, its abilities were unique; it could transform into invisible gas particles but needed to attach itself to living beings. This ability allowed those it attached to to remain undetectable by others. Ruo Xi had relied on this feature to sneak away.
Of course, such traits could not ensure their survival until now. They had two other abilities: one was sensing capabilities, and the other was that after signing a contract with humans, they could double the attack power of their partners. This made them highly coveted by many; previously protected by dragons, those left behind became targets for various factions' competition. After numerous fruitless battles among these factions resulted in some Spirit Dragons being killed off, only ten remained.
Eventually, these factions reached a ceasefire agreement and decided to protect Dragon Valley so that these ten Spirit Dragons could grow and reproduce there. However, they imposed a requirement: every year after one year had passed, each of the Three Major Forces would send someone to select one Spirit Dragon as their Contract Beast. Later on, ancient sects also intervened and increased their quota to two selections per year for each sect.
...
After a while, Ruo Xi anxiously asked, "Spirit Dragon, what did you find?"
"Sister Ruo Xi, I sensed many presences; however, yours and another girl's presence are minimal—almost negligible."
Ruo Xi found this surprising; she had chosen this Spirit Dragon when it was still very young—barely over one year old by human standards—while most people would choose adults for their stronger abilities. Yet Ruo Xi felt something special about it and believed it could grow into something formidable. Now it seemed her instincts were correct; it could even sense her presence from several years ago.
Ruo Xi immediately asked, "What about the other one? When did that one appear?"
"The feeling is the clearest for that one; it should be recent. Oh! By the way, there’s also a man who appears quite often. Is he your lover? Hehe..."
Teased by Linglong, Ruo Xi's face turned red, and she feigned anger, saying, "Hurry up and take me to track this aura according to the latest energy trail."
With that, Ruo Xi removed the barrier, pushed open the door, and walked outside. At that moment, the Grand Elder waiting outside saw Ruo Xi come out and immediately approached her, asking, "Miss Ruo Xi, how is it?"
Ruo Xi smiled sweetly and said, "Don't worry, once I find him, I'll safely bring Uncle Huo back. I'm planning to go now, so you all just wait here."
Without paying any more attention to the Grand Elder, she leaped onto the rooftop following the Spirit Dragon's guidance and instantly disappeared from Nottingham City.
...
Soon, Ruo Xi arrived at the passageway between Azure Wave Kingdom and Azure Calamity Nation. As she continued to track the aura, she noticed several gnomes fishing on an amber surface. She walked over and asked them, "Hello, I'm looking for someone. Have you seen a woman passing through here with a middle-aged man?"
These gnomes were part of the Pocket Tribe who had lived here for generations. Ever since Huo Feng arrived, they felt a sense of belonging among different races living together and were quite fond of it because Huo Feng did not look down on them and helped them solve their problems. This time, however, a remarkably beautiful girl had come through their passage, leaving everyone stunned as they forgot Ruo Xi's question and stared at her instead, making Ruo Xi feel a bit shy.
At that moment, an older gnome patted the heads of several younger ones and said to Ruo Xi, "Don't mind us; we’ve lived here for many lifetimes and haven’t seen much of the world. It seems one of our tribe members has seen someone like you."
Then a young gnome interjected eagerly, "Yes! I saw that middle-aged man; he seemed to have fainted and was being carried by a beautiful young woman towards the Teleportation Array."
Suddenly remembering something, the young gnome turned to another middle-aged gnome and said, "By the way, I forgot to tell the chief that the middle-aged man looks somewhat like Brother Feng."
Upon hearing Huo Feng's name, Ruo Xi's eyes lit up with excitement as she asked, "You know Huo Feng? Is he from Azure Wave Kingdom?"
The Pocket Tribe members looked at Ruo Xi in surprise and replied, "Yes! We have a great relationship with Brother Feng; he has helped us a lot. He plans to come live here with us in the future; however, he currently has something more important to do—seeking a girl he likes from another world. I bet she's very beautiful! But Brother Feng has been gone for quite some time now; we don't know how he's doing since those people there are quite formidable."
Seeking a girl? Isn’t that me? The only girl from Another World that Brother Feng knows is me. It turns out Brother Feng really hasn't forgotten me; he actually came looking for me! The more Ruo Xi thought about it, the happier she became.
"Miss, what's wrong?" At that moment, the middle-aged gnome noticed Ruo Xi's flushed face and asked curiously.
"Huh?" Ruo Xi came back to her senses and felt her face grow even hotter. She covered her face with her hands and said, "I'm fine; thank you all. I need to go find someone now."
Feeling shy, she turned around and walked toward the mountain where the passage was located. Suddenly she called out loudly, "I will come back here to live with Brother Feng; I really like it here!"
With that, her figure darted like a streak of light straight towards the mountain peak.
Soon, Ruo Xi reached the halfway point of the mountain, where it was already covered in snow. She couldn't help but exclaim, "This mountain is really high. I need to hurry up; Brother Feng is looking for me, and I can't wait to see him."
"You forgot that you still need to help him find his father. It would be even better if you brought his father to meet him," Spirit Dragon reminded her.
Ruo Xi smiled and said, "Of course, I need to find Uncle Huo first. He might be in danger."
Suddenly, Ruo Xi's figure vanished into thin air. In an instant, she arrived at the mountain peak, where she saw a strange Teleportation Array. However, in front of the Teleportation Array stood three Snow Giants from the Vein Realm.
The three Snow Giants spotted Ruo Xi and immediately charged at her in a frenzy. Ruo Xi simply leaped into the air, and a blue Ice Serpent's Origin Force appeared around her fist. With one punch directed at them, the Origin Force Ice Serpent wrapped around the three Snow Giants, immobilizing them.
The Snow Giants roared furiously, shaking the ice and snow on the mountain. Ruo Xi paid them no mind and walked toward the Teleportation Array. She touched the Teleportation Array with her hand and wondered, "Strange, why does this Teleportation Array have the aura of the long-lost Magic Diagram Sect? Fortunately, this Teleportation Array isn't very advanced; I can easily activate it."
At that moment, Ruo Xi sat in front of the Teleportation Array, closed her eyes, and continuously changed hand gestures in front of her chest. Suddenly, a circular magic circle appeared above the Teleportation Array. Moments later, the Teleportation Array lit up with a yellow glow.
Ruo Xi stood up and walked toward the Teleportation Array. Standing in its center, her figure became ethereal as she excitedly thought, "Brother Feng, I'm coming."
