Star Dragon God
Phantom Butterfly was momentarily taken aback and felt a bit panicked. However, when it prepared to take action, it realized that its body was completely out of control. No matter how hard it tried, it could not move even a fraction, and the Origin Force within it could not be summoned.
The ground beneath the Milky White surface was not made of sand or gravel, but was instead filled with Milky White material. It was unclear what kind of substance it was, as Phantom Butterfly could see its body enveloped in the Milky White material, yet it did not hinder its descent at all. Although visible, there was no sensation; it felt completely devoid of touch.
At this point, Phantom Butterfly was on the verge of breaking through to the initial level of Blazing Catastrophe, and naturally, its intelligence was comparable to that of a human. Maintaining a heightened sense of alertness, Phantom Butterfly surveyed its surroundings. Even though it felt powerless, it wanted to at least see what would happen next.
Phantom Butterfly felt itself falling endlessly, as if there were no end in sight. Suddenly, all the Milky White material converged into one place, and at that moment, Phantom Butterfly’s body was pulled forward.
Before long, the Milky White material compressed and coalesced into a massive Milky White Dragon Statue, standing amidst a neatly arranged towering Stone Forest.
However, Phantom Butterfly sensed that this Stone Forest was a powerful confinement array, and the aura that had been guiding it here all along emanated from the statue in the center of the forest.
At this moment, the statue unexpectedly spoke, “Fellow, how long have you been following this young man?”
Aside from Phantom Butterfly and Huo Feng, there were no other creatures present. Thus, outside the array, Phantom Butterfly looked at the statue inside and replied, “For about a year or two. May I ask if you are a dragon like my master? But your body…”
“Indeed, I am the original dragon; back then, I was the only dragon in this world.” The statue gradually displayed a hint of pride.
Phantom Butterfly felt that dragons were powerful but did not truly understand them since it had grown up in a weaker realm.
The statue continued to speak, “How does that human on your back possess the aura of my descendants? Did he kill my dragon kin?”
The voice of the statue carried an angry tone. Phantom Butterfly quickly responded, “No, no! I actually don’t know why either, but he inherently possesses half-dragon blood. If you want to know more, you can ask him when he wakes up.”
“How can a human possess dragon blood?”
At this moment, the statue's voice became soft as if murmuring to itself. Suddenly, a fierce wind arose. Phantom Butterfly quickly shielded Huo Feng with its wings while also releasing strands of Origin Force to heal his wounds.
Just then, a crimson-gold flash erupted from within the Milky White Dragon Statue, striking directly into Huo Feng's body before Phantom Butterfly could react. It immediately became anxious because it did not know what attitude this dragon held towards Huo Feng.
Phantom Butterfly quickly tried to infuse more Origin Force into Huo Feng's body to expel that strange entity. However, at that moment, the Origin Force it was using to heal Huo Feng was blocked, making it impossible to drive out the intruder. Now, Phantom Butterfly could only feel anxious and angry, saying, "What do you want to do?"
But there was complete silence, as if the previous conversation had been an illusion. Yet Phantom Butterfly, being a master of illusions, knew this was definitely not a mirage.
...
"Indeed, it's true. How can my descendants be combined with despicable humans? Ah... how infuriating!"
After an unknown amount of time, the voice finally echoed within Huo Feng. Phantom Butterfly asked again, "What do you want?"
"I want him dead."
Phantom Butterfly was taken aback. It had made a contract with Huo Feng, and if Huo Feng died, it would undoubtedly perish as well. However, it felt utterly helpless because it didn't know how to resist.
Meanwhile, Seven Star Spirit observed everything. He could sense the dragon's hatred for humans and quickly began to compete with Huo Feng's consciousness for control of the body, hoping to stimulate Huo Feng's dormant consciousness.
Sure enough, Huo Feng's sleeping consciousness felt a pressure and instinctively resisted it. But as the pressure grew stronger, it seemed like Huo Feng's consciousness was about to explode and suddenly awakened.
"Hmm?" The dragon-like entity let out a surprised sound as it sensed something unusual within Huo Feng.
Moments later, Huo Feng cried out in pain and woke up. Struggling to open his eyes, he looked around and realized he was lying on the back of Phantom Butterfly. He felt somewhat relieved but soon frowned again. He sensed an unfamiliar powerful aura within himself that he was sure did not belong to Seven Star Spirit.
Ignoring his injuries, Huo Feng struggled to ask Phantom Butterfly in the universal language of magical beasts, "What happened? Where is this?"
Seeing that Huo Feng had awakened, Phantom Butterfly felt a bit relieved but also guilty as it replied, "I'm sorry, Master. As soon as I came out, an irresistible force drew me here. There is a dragon here, but it seems to be dead yet has entered your body."
This left Huo Feng confused. Unfortunately, he was too injured to move and couldn't check for himself. He said, "What do you mean dead? What entered my body? Be clear!"
"Hmph! Let me tell you so you can die with your eyes closed. I'll just use your body to wipe out all those humans outside. Hahaha..."
A strange voice echoed from within Huo Feng, causing him to feel tense and attempt to get up, but the movement aggravated his injuries and he cried out in pain.
Now Huo Feng was just a wooden figure, completely immobile, nervously asking, "Who are you? Why have you entered my body?"
Before the dragon could respond, Seven Star Spirit suddenly said, "Let me answer that question. You must be the first dragon that appeared a hundred thousand years ago, but you're just a fragment, and an evil one at that. If I'm not mistaken, you are Evil Dragon Vankun."
The being referred to as "Evil Dragon Vankun" became cautious, recklessly probing within Huo Feng's body but found nothing. Its voice turned grim as it asked, "Who are you? Why am I unaware of your presence in his body?"
Seven Star Spirit laughed, "Hahaha... Who am I? I remember back then I could only watch this land from the starry sky, yet I knew of you—specifically, all of you. You could even soar close to me."
The voice became low and dazed: "We? I almost forgot about that. Yes, it was us, but he has disappeared."
It then grew angry again and roared, "It's all those despicable humans' fault! We were one entity, yet he separated from me for those insignificant humans. He was foolish enough to imprison me for them, leading to his own demise."
Now it seemed as if it desperately needed to vent its anger, howling and then screaming madly, "Humans should die! They should die! Fine, I'll take you down first."
Upon hearing this, Huo Feng immediately tensed up; wasn't he now completely at their mercy?
At that moment, Seven Star Spirit quickly interjected, "Do you really not understand Vankun's heart? You simply refuse to comprehend. You two are originally one entity."
After hearing this from Seven Star Spirit, Vankun seemed to hear its own voice echoing in its ears: "Humans only fear us because we are too powerful. If we could eliminate that fear, they wouldn't treat us this way."
Suddenly feeling a bit lost, Vankun asked Huo Feng, "Are you afraid of me?"
Huo Feng replied directly, "Not afraid."
Vankun didn't believe it and retorted angrily, "Liar! I can decide your life or death right now; how can you not be afraid?"
Huo Feng said, "True, no one wants to die. But if you want to kill me, what good is your fear? Will that stop you from killing me?"
"Then this proves that those humans outside truly deserve to die. Fear of me must have some ulterior motive; otherwise, why would they fear me?" After a pause, Vankun continued, "Vankun, you are ultimately mistaken."
Seven Star Spirit sensed that Vankun's emotions were extremely unstable and said, "Back then, Vankun, you indeed had some wild ideas. The higher-ups of those organizations wanted to kill you for your flesh; however, this child possesses your bloodline. You must understand that he is now facing the same situation you once did—many people covet his body."
Vankun paused for a long time before finally saying, "Alright, I'll let you off this time because you have the bloodline of a dragon. But if I find you displeasing in the future, I will definitely kill you."
Huo Feng let out a long sigh of relief. If it weren't for the Seven Star Spirit this time, he would have really met his end here. However, Huo Feng still didn't quite understand the relationship between Vankun and himself. Now that he was finally safe, he didn't dare to ask too many questions.
At that moment, Vankun suddenly spoke up, "Is that bear-like appearance of yours due to being hurt while resisting those hypocritical and despicable humans? It's simply too embarrassing for me. Fine, I'll heal your wounds first, and then I'll follow you out to see how the later generations are faring."
Without waiting for Huo Feng to respond, a stream of crimson-gold Origin Force emanated from Huo Feng's body and enveloped him.
Huo Feng immediately felt an extreme warmth and comfort, as if he were being caressed by a loved one. It was so soothing that his tense nerves relaxed once again, and he fell into a deep sleep.
At this moment, the Seven Star Spirit said to Vankun, "You should lend this child a helping hand. To avoid humans, the dragon clan doesn't know where to go now, and this child might become a bridge for communication between humans and dragons, influencing all their existence."
"Perhaps. I can see how special you are, and with his dragon bloodline, I believe he can possess such strength. However, his character remains to be observed." At this point, Vankun had calmed down considerably.
Seeing Vankun's change, the Seven Star Spirit said, "Actually, Vankun is just Vankun; Vankun is Vankun. If you maintain your current state, you should gradually be able to sense Vankun's presence."
After the Seven Star Spirit finished speaking, Vankun fell silent. The Seven Star Spirit knew he was thinking about what had just been said.
