In just a few breaths, Huo Feng woke up, and to his astonishment, he found himself feeling perfectly fine. The Origin Force within him was more abundant than ever, and his physical condition was exceptional, as if everything that had happened before was merely a dream.
However, Huo Feng knew this was not a dream; he could sense a lingering aura in his body that felt incredibly familiar.
At that moment, Huo Feng spoke to Vankun, who resided within him: "Thank you for your help, senior."
"Stop," Vankun interrupted, sounding somewhat uncomfortable upon hearing Huo Feng's gratitude. He continued, "Don't thank me yet; I still have my own reasons for helping you."
Upon hearing this from Vankun, Huo Feng felt a bit anxious. After all, Vankun had appeared quite terrifying when Huo Feng was still injured.
Vankun noticed the change in Huo Feng's expression and mood. Suddenly, his voice softened and became weak as he asked, "Would you like to hear my story?"
Huo Feng was taken aback by Vankun's sudden change in demeanor but quickly responded obediently, "Yes."
At this point, Vankun's voice took on a somber tone as he hoarsely began, "A hundred thousand years ago, I was born from the earth. At that time, I was like a blank slate—naive and full of curiosity."
As he reminisced about his beginnings, Vankun seemed to become somewhat emotional. "I was born of the earth and had no parents or constraints. I came into being in these mountains, filled with curiosity and energy. Back then, I was just an intermediate magical beast of the Earth Vein Realm. Fearless and bold, I would often jump onto the heads of other magical beasts to play pranks on them; yet they seemed to fear me and would only dodge my antics."
"As time passed, I stayed here for decades without knowing what cultivation meant. However, my strength naturally increased to the advanced level of the Vein Realm. But because the magical beasts feared me, my playful antics eventually lost their charm."
Vankun paused for a moment before his voice began to shift toward anger. "So I decided to walk in one direction continuously, hoping to encounter different things and experiences that would pique my interest."
"I kept walking and soon exited the Death Mountain due to my speed. What I saw then was a completely different world filled with countless new things. It was my first time seeing a place inhabited by humans; those peculiar towering buildings fascinated me. Excitedly, I spread my wings and flew toward the city."
"When I soared above the city, I saw countless humans moving along orderly streets. At that time, I stood over four meters tall and was immensely large; I regarded those humans as weak magical beasts—much like how humans view ants."
"I descended heavily towards the center of the city without hesitation. At that moment, the humans below noticed me and began to scatter in panic. However, I did not understand what life was at that time and continued to fall unceremoniously, instantly turning the center of the city into ruins, with screams and blood splattering beneath my feet."
"I felt nothing about all this and boldly walked towards the magnificent palace in the distance, where the souls beneath my feet multiplied."
"The commotion here caught the attention of the leaders inside the palace, who dispatched numerous experts to deal with me. In my mind, these weaker 'beasts' should be more afraid of me, so I continued towards the palace without concern."
At this point, Vankun paused again, his voice becoming much softer as he continued, "But for some reason, I was captivated by a scene I caught in my peripheral vision."
"I saw a young man lying on his back next to one of my big toes, seemingly injured and unable to move. Beside him crouched an older man. They were talking about something, but at that time, I couldn't understand human language. However, I could sense they shared the same bloodline; they were likely relatives or even father and son."
Huo Feng curiously asked, "What happened next? Did you become moved by them?"
Vankun was suddenly interrupted by Huo Feng and appeared somewhat impatient as he replied, "Just listen quietly; why are there so many questions? I'm telling you a story."
Huo Feng was also eager to know whether his ancestor was a good person or a bad one and couldn't help but blurt out his curiosity.
Seeing Huo Feng fall silent, Vankun continued, "At that moment, I had a playful mindset and inexplicably extended one of my claws to gently press against the young man's chest, instantly piercing through it."
Huo Feng frowned upon hearing this, but Vankun continued on without concern.
"At that moment, the middle-aged father let out a furious howl and grabbed a fork nearby, frantically stabbing at my claw. Although he couldn't hurt me, it infuriated me. So many powerful beasts in Death Mountain had yielded to me; how dare he treat me this way? I raised my claw to crush him as well."
"But just then, I noticed tears in the corners of the middle-aged man's eyes. They were so clear and transparent that for some reason, my own eyes began to sting as well. A layer of warm mist inexplicably blurred my vision."
At this point, Vankun paused again and remained silent for a long time. This time Huo Feng did not speak up to disturb his emotions.
After a moment, Vankun murmured, "At that time, an unusual thought suddenly appeared in my mind, which left me somewhat confused, and it felt as if I had an epiphany. The Origin Force within me was also rising wildly."
"I don't know how long it took, but I went berserk. That middle-aged man died at my feet, and this city was destroyed by more than half because of that rampage. I actually reached the initial stage of Blazing Catastrophe, jumping several levels."

Now reflecting on it, Huo Feng thought that Vankun was not inherently bad; he had merely been driven to this point by humanity's hatred during his transformation.
Thus, Huo Feng asked, "Vankun, what exactly do you need my help with?"
Vankun chuckled ominously and said, "I want... to temporarily borrow your body."
Huo Feng's heart tightened as he was about to refuse, but before he could utter a word, he lost control of his body.
At that moment, Vankun took over Huo Feng's body and remarked, "Human bodies are indeed complex; even with my strength, I still need a brief period to adapt."
However, in an instant, Vankun began to take action. Huo Feng's body transformed into that of a Golden Wyvern, though its color was slightly darker and more subdued.
