At that moment, a slightly plump old man with a gray beard walked out of the room. He approached Gu Yun and said, "Let him sit down."

After a moment, Grandpa Gu withdrew his hand and said, "Your injury isn't too serious; there's just some slight damage to the meridians in your right arm. I'll help you with some adjustments, and if you take care of yourself afterward, you'll recover quickly."
The middle-aged man repeatedly nodded in thanks while Grandpa Gu used his Origin Force to repair the meridians. After a moment, Grandpa Gu stopped and said, "Alright, it's fine now. Just avoid fighting for three days; otherwise, it might flare up again."
"Thank you." The middle-aged man took out two mid-level Beast Soul Essences from his Narcissistic Ring and handed them to Grandpa Gu, continuing, "I don't have anything else to offer; please accept these three Beast Soul Essences as my gratitude."
Grandpa Gu smiled and reached out to stop the middle-aged man's hand while saying, "Oh! There's no need for such formalities. I never accept rewards for treating others."
Just as Grandpa Gu was about to turn away to do something else, he suddenly paused, a hint of curiosity flashing in his eyes as he asked the middle-aged man, "It's rare for outsiders to come here; who are you? Why did you come here?"
The middle-aged man immediately replied, "Sir, please don't misunderstand. I was just training in the nearby mountains when I unexpectedly encountered a Flame Demon Tiger. I almost lost my life; fortunately, I was quick and close to here; otherwise, I would have really died there."
"Uncle Gu, I'm here."
Just as Grandpa Gu was still pondering something, a voice suddenly came from outside. Rofu walked in and said to Grandpa Gu, "Uncle Gu, have you been busy lately? Do you need my help?"
"You, always restless, where have you been playing this time? You even know to come and help me," Grandpa Gu replied with a smile.
"I, well, recently..." Rofu was about to continue when he suddenly noticed a stranger beside him. He pointed at the unfamiliar middle-aged man and asked Grandpa Gu, "Uncle Gu, who is this person?"
Before Grandpa Gu could respond, the middle-aged man interjected, "My name is Chen Mou. I came from out of town and sought help here because I was injured."
At that moment, Grandpa Gu said to Rofu and Gu Yun, "You two take him to find a room to rest."
So Rofu and Gu Yun led the man named Chen Mou toward the inner hall. Along the way, Rofu asked him, "This place is so remote; how did you end up here?"
Chen Mou replied, "Actually, I'm an orphan. I've been wandering around the continent for experience and happened to come across this place. I guess it's fate."
Chen Mou smiled at Rofu. Since Rofu was also someone who enjoyed traveling, he immediately became very interested in Chen Mou and chatted non-stop along the way.
Soon they arrived at Grandpa Gu's guest room. Gu Yun opened the door, and Rofu followed Chen Mou inside while still chattering away. At that moment, Gu Yun rolled her eyes at him and said, "Enough already! Do you want to annoy everyone? Do you think everyone enjoys your rambling?"
Rofu was slightly put off by Gu Yun's interruption and retorted, "What do you know? You're just a girl standing here." He then turned back to Chen Mou and said, "Brother Chen, you don't mind continuing our conversation, do you? It's rare to meet someone so compatible."

At that moment, Rofu suddenly stood up, remembering that he had come to tell Uncle Gu some news. He called out to Gu Yun, "Wait! I almost forgot; I came to tell Uncle Gu some news. Since you're leaving, can you tell him for me? I've heard news about Brother Huo Feng; he has gone to Treeheart City."
When Rofu mentioned Huo Feng's name, Chen Mou's eyes flickered with a hint of something unusual but it quickly vanished. Meanwhile, Gu Yun impatiently replied, "Why should I care where those bastards are? I really don't understand why you're all so concerned about him; even Grandpa is like this. I'm not going."
"Good sister, just go down. This is something your grandfather specifically instructed." Rofu wanted to chat a bit longer with Chen Mou, so he pleaded with Gu Yun.
Gu Yun helplessly said, "Alright, alright, I'll go. I really don't understand what’s so great about that Fellow."
After Gu Yun left, Rofu began to chatter away with Chen Mou; however, while Chen Mou appeared to be engaged in conversation with Rofu, he was actually pondering the words Rofu had said and secretly calculating something.
Rofu clung to Chen Mou until after dinner when Gu Yun finally sent him away. Fortunately, Chen Mou had the chance to rest due to his injury; otherwise, Rofu wouldn't have left even if it killed him. As he was leaving, Rofu said, "Brother Chen, take care of yourself. I'll come find you first thing in the morning."
Chen Mou pretended to cultivate and recuperate in his room while waiting for an opportunity to sneak away.
Soon it was deep into the night. Chen Mou opened his eyes and quietly left the room, heading toward the outskirts of the city under the cover of darkness. Shortly after he left Grandpa Gu's room, he was spotted by a scout from the Free Alliance, and three people stealthily followed him out of the city.
After they had traveled some distance from Pharmacy City, the three suddenly appeared in front of Chen Mou. He was startled; after all, he only had Ninth Level of Connection strength and had not noticed anyone following him. However, as soon as he saw these individuals, he immediately summoned a fist-sized light blue magical beast from his Narcissistic Ring.
This magical beast was Ice. As soon as it appeared, it extended its claws toward the three people, and instantly a flurry of Ice Flowers fell around them. The three felt a terrifying chill but had no other sensations; they were merely on guard and angrily questioned Chen Mou, "Who are you and why did you infiltrate our Free Alliance?"
Chen Mou did not respond; however, at that moment, all the Ice Flowers instantly crystallized and froze the three inside. The cold was so intense that even the surrounding weeds were frozen dead, leaving a thick layer of ice on the ground.
At this time, Ice said to Chen Mou, "Remember, don’t summon me unless absolutely necessary in the future. Now let’s go to Treeheart City."
