Star Dragon God
Huo Feng absorbed for a full five hours this time, and the strange phenomena erupting from the great tree piqued the curiosity of everyone in Treeheart City. However, Zhou Xing had indeed ordered that no one was to disturb Huo Feng up there.
As Huo Feng began to merge with the Star Spirit Fragment, the third Zhou Wu woke up. Upon learning about everything, he felt even more grateful towards Huo Feng. He also noticed that the wooden sword within his Narcissistic Ring seemed to be reacting, so he took it out. As soon as he did, the wooden sword trembled and radiated a brilliant light, flying directly into the sky towards Huo Feng.
After finishing his absorption, Huo Feng discovered that he had actually broken through to the peak of Oblivion Tempest mastery and had comprehended two new Combat Techniques. At that moment, Huo Feng noticed a wooden sword shining brightly on the tree in front of them. He immediately recognized it as Zhou Wu's wooden sword and muttered to himself, "Strange, did they come up here? But why would they leave this treasure in front of me?"
Huo Feng felt a special connection to this wooden sword, as its light seemed to resonate with the starlight fragments within his body. Suddenly, he thought, could it be that this wooden sword found me on its own? But what does this mean?
However, Huo Feng was determined not to take the wooden sword away. Even if it was as he guessed, he wouldn't take it; otherwise, he would feel guilty. So, Huo Feng picked up the wooden sword and leaped down towards the base of the great tree.
At that moment, Zhou Xing and his son were at the entrance of their newly built Treeheart City, watching above. After Huo Feng completed his fusion, the silvery light above him disappeared, and they were all waiting here in anticipation.
Huo Feng was no longer surprised by this situation because every time he practiced or merged with a Star Spirit Fragment, such phenomena attracted people's attention. He walked over to Zhou Xing and Zhou Wu, holding the wooden sword and asked, "Brother Zhou Wu, how did this wooden sword end up with me?"
Looking at the wooden sword in Huo Feng's hand, Zhou Wu was equally puzzled. "I was wondering about that too. When I woke up, I sensed some unusual movement from the wooden sword in my Narcissistic Ring, so I decided to take it out. But unexpectedly, it flew towards you."
It turned out that Huo Feng had guessed correctly. Regardless of the reason, he decided not to take the wooden sword away. He handed it back to Zhou Wu, saying, "It might have been influenced by my cultivation. Now that I've finished my training, let's return it to its rightful owner."
As soon as Zhou Wu reached for the wooden sword, it suddenly shook violently and flew out of his hand, circling around Huo Feng.
Everyone stared wide-eyed; they had never seen anything like this before. The wooden sword seemed almost sentient as it sought out Huo Feng. Meanwhile, Huo Feng looked helplessly at the situation and reached out to grab the wooden sword, unsure of what to do next.
After thinking for a moment, Huo Feng offered the wooden sword back to Zhou Wu, saying, "You should take it and put it back into your Narcissistic Ring."
This time, however, Zhou Wu did not take the wooden sword but instead turned his gaze towards his father, Zhou Xing. After pondering for a moment with a frown, Zhou Xing said to Huo Feng, "It seems that everything is destined; we cannot force it. If we try to force it, it will surely bring disaster to Treeheart City. So, brother Huo Feng, since the wooden sword has chosen you on its own, you should keep it and cherish it."
Listening to this made Huo Feng feel quite helpless. He already felt guilty for taking that Star Spirit Fragment, and now this wooden sword wanted to come with him too; it was truly difficult for him to accept. More importantly, Huo Feng originally planned to use his own Origin Force along with the wooden sword to create something similar to what they referred to as the Soul of the Tree Heart.
At the moment when Huo Feng was in a dilemma, the Seven Star Spirit suddenly spoke up, "Are you foolish? Have you forgotten that you still possess a treasure with powerful Origin Force?"
Huo Feng was taken aback by this reminder and began to carefully think about the treasures he owned. It seemed there wasn't anything particularly special. Suddenly, Huo Feng exclaimed in his heart, "Stellar Grandpa, are you referring to that Dragon Statue?"
"Exactly."
"No way! I knew you old bastards were up to no good. That is the essence I've gathered over thousands of years; how can I let it go so easily? If it's to be given away, it should be to our Dragon Clan. Besides, how can that broken sword compare to my statue?" Upon hearing that his Dragon Statue would be used to exchange for such a thing, Vankun was furious.
If possible, Huo Feng would be willing to do so. After all, he didn't have to worry about Origin Force since he could cultivate it himself. However, the Star Spirit Fragment and such a spiritually infused treasure were rare finds. Huo Feng had another question in his mind; he asked the Seven Star Spirit, "Stellar Grandpa, can they absorb the Origin Force from this Venerable Fan?"
"Of course they can; it's just a bit troublesome. You just need to ask that old thing to help control the release of Origin Force from that statue," said the Seven Star Spirit. Then he added, "Old thing, just watch; this will definitely be worth it because this child doesn't need to worry about issues related to realm and Origin Force enhancement. Moreover, the Origin Force of your statue is astonishing. They will only use it sparingly. When Huo Feng merges with five pieces of Star Spirit Fragment, he will be able to create such things and then we can trade back."
"No way! This is non-negotiable, old bastards! Do you look down on me? Is my treasure not as good as your worthless inheritance?" Vankun refused to budge.
The Seven Star Spirit understood that Vankun was just being stubborn. If he could see the capabilities of this wooden sword, he would naturally agree. So the Seven Star Spirit said, "Huo Feng, this wooden sword seems to resonate with that piece of Star Spirit Fragment after being together for a long time. Now that you're trying to recognize it as your own, unexpected gains may arise. Just let this old fellow give up."
Huo Feng immediately channeled his Origin Force into the wooden sword, which instantly radiated a silvery light. At the same time, the wooden sword responded to Huo Feng's Origin Force. The Seven Star Spirit reminded him, "Now is the time; prepare to recognize it as yours."
Huo Feng quickly pricked his finger and let a drop of blood fall onto the wooden sword. Suddenly, the wooden sword underwent tremendous changes; many fine branches sprouted from it, each covered with delicate leaves. Under each leaf was a small ball of Origin Force shimmering with silver radiance. Huo Feng raised the wooden sword and pointed it at a distant spot on the ground; immediately, a ball of Origin Force shot out in that direction.
In an instant, there was a loud "boom," and dust flew everywhere. Moments later, as the dust settled, Huo Feng discovered a massive deep pit had appeared there. He was shocked; he never expected such a small ball of Origin Force could have such great power. The pit was over three meters deep and quite large.
At this moment, Huo Feng's action attracted many onlookers since this was happening within Subordinate New City. Zhou Xing and others were also astonished; they never imagined this wooden sword would possess such power in Huo Feng's hands. Huo Feng stood there in disbelief.
Zhou Wu approached Huo Feng and laughed heartily, "Hahaha... Brother Huo Feng, congratulations! Now that I've given you this wooden sword, I have no regrets at all. I did feel some reluctance at first, but now I don't feel that way anymore because it can only shine its true light in your hands."
At this point, Huo Feng was determined to exchange his Dragon Statue for this wooden sword because it was incredibly convenient to use; he only needed to infuse it with Origin Force regularly without consuming his own during use. Thus, Huo Feng said to them, "Then I will gladly comply. However, taking such a treasure feels somewhat inappropriate without giving something in return. So let me prepare something for you that ensures you can coexist with the other two major forces."
"Huo Feng brother, some things shouldn't be forced. We don't want you to do anything detrimental for our sake; that would weigh heavily on our hearts," Zhou Xing replied at that moment.
Huo Feng smiled mysteriously and said, "Don't worry, just wait and see. I'll head out of the city for a bit."
With that, Huo Feng walked towards the outskirts of the city. The people around were amazed and discussing among themselves, but they could only gossip and envy. When they saw Huo Feng leaving the city, they dispersed. However, someone quietly followed from the shadows.
As Huo Feng stepped outside the city, he felt extremely excited and couldn't contain his joy. He turned to Seven Star Spirit and Vankun and asked, "What should we name this sword and its ability?"
Vankun replied somewhat unhappily, "I don't care about that. Just remember to return that Dragon Statue and take it back to the Dragon Clan."
Of course, Huo Feng intended to do so. He assured, "Don't worry, Venerable Fan. Once I merge the five Star Spirit Fragments, I'll definitely come back to exchange it. You must teach me how to control this statue."
Meanwhile, Seven Star Spirit was quite happy as well. Her happiness stemmed from two reasons: first, she had once again outdone Vankun, and second, Huo Feng had gained another safeguard. This made her believe that their plan might actually succeed with Huo Feng. She suggested, "Since this wooden sword has changed because of the Star Spirit Fragment, we should name it something related to stars. Let me think... how about calling it the Starlight Sword? Look at it; it's always radiating a silvery star-like glow. However, that Combat Technique looks a bit complicated; I can't think of a good name for it right now. You should think of one too."
"Starlight Sword? Good, let's go with that name. As for that Combat Technique, its Origin Force orb looks like a star, but the way the wooden sword changes makes the Origin Force orb resemble fruit hanging from a tree. How about we call it ‘Starfruit’?" Huo Feng analyzed.
"Not bad; let's call it that," Seven Star Spirit agreed.
Suddenly, Huo Feng furrowed his brows and said in a low voice, "Who is it? Come out."
