"You... what did you say?!" Wang Long stood up abruptly, unable to believe the words of the elder who had always faced the world with an invincible demeanor. 0

The Dragon Head chuckled lightly, patted Wang Long on the shoulder to urge him to sit down, and said, "Why be so agitated? Who in this world can escape death? Even I, the Dragon Head, cannot avoid it." 0

"I have never feared death; it's just that there are many things I cannot let go of... Sigh, in this tumultuous time, I find myself feeling increasingly powerless, forced to maintain this facade of peace and prosperity with all my might." 0

Wang Long hesitated, saying, "In Dragon City, there has indeed been peace for nearly a decade. How could it be false?" 0

The Dragon Head smiled bitterly and replied, "There are many things you cannot see with your current perspective. Beneath this calm surface lies a torrent of undercurrents and schemes. Right now, Dragon City is beset by internal strife and external threats. If I had not risked everything to seal Dragon Duel back in the day, reducing my own power in the process, there might still have been a glimmer of hope to stabilize the situation. But now... this burden will likely fall on your shoulders!" 0

Wang Long was taken aback and pointed at himself. "Me?!" 0

"Of course! You are the heir of the Wang family, the rightful successor to the title of Dragon Lord! If you don't take on this burden, who will?" 0

"But right now... not only am I still young and my cultivation low, but in the eyes of many elders and clan leaders, I am also seen as a potential threat that could explode at any moment. It’s hard enough for them to acknowledge me as part of Dragon City; how could they support me as the next Dragon Head?!" Wang Long voiced his concerns directly. 0

The Dragon Head smiled and said, "That is naturally impossible at present. Therefore, you must make a name for yourself, prove your worth, and show everyone your abilities and intentions!" 0

"I'm sorry I don't have much time to give you. One year—at most one year—you must prove yourself so that everyone sees you in a new light and trusts you completely!" 0

"How do I prove that?!" 0

The Dragon Head stood up and said solemnly, "I have decided to let you enter Dragon Martial Arts and participate in martial training. You must elevate your cultivation in the shortest time possible to demonstrate your value and loyalty! Only then will there be a glimmer of hope!" 0

"Dragon Martial Arts?!" 0

"That's right! It is the perilous and extremely demanding Dragon Martial Arts! There you will receive real training and rapidly enhance yourself to meet my expectations!" 0

Wang Long knew that within Dragon City, there were four major divisions: Dragon Hidden, Dragon Martial Arts, Dragon Tooth, and Dragon Vault. These divisions formed the core strength of the entire city, and the heads of these divisions were on par with the leaders of the Four Great Families, collectively known as the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Dragons. 0

Among the four divisions, Dragon Tooth was at the forefront, while Dragon Vault was at the rear; Dragon Martial Arts was in the open, and Dragon Hidden operated in secrecy. This indicated their respective positions and statuses. Dragon Tooth was responsible for all security and military affairs, representing the most orthodox martial power in Dragon City. Dragon Vault was tasked with collecting all Divine Weapons, precious medicines, and various secret techniques. Meanwhile, Dragon Martial Arts and Dragon Hidden served as two major venues for talent cultivation, one being open to all and the other shrouded in mystery; many people were even unaware of the existence of Dragon Hidden. 0

Dragon Martial Arts was essentially the reserve military force of Dragon City. Anyone could sign up to participate and undergo rigorous training while executing various dangerous missions. After a set period, outstanding individuals could take part in the Grand Martial Assembly, where victors would receive numerous benefits and could choose their future career paths. 0

Positions within Dragon City were divided into three levels: Heaven, Earth, and Man. Even if an ordinary person cultivated to a high level, it was still difficult to reach the Human Dragon level. The term Human Dragon referred to exceptional individuals among people; although it was the lowest tier among the three levels, it was still a title reserved for elites. 0

Only those who underwent Dragon Martial Training and received recognition could attain victory at the Grand Martial Assembly and earn this title, highlighting its difficulty. 0

"Indeed, this is indeed the fastest and most direct path! I am willing to accept this challenge!" Wang Long said firmly. 0

The leader smiled slightly, nodded his head, and began walking toward the door. Suddenly turning back, he took out a scroll from his pocket and handed it to Wang Long, saying, "This is my family's Family Tradition: Dragon Technique - Dragon Dance Technique. It should have been given to you long ago." 0

Wang Long accepted it and watched as the leader walked out the door. He whispered, "Yes, thank you... Leader, Father..." 0

Wang Long slowly made his way along the path toward the Training Ground of Dragon Martial Arts. The terrain became increasingly remote as fewer people were around, gradually becoming quiet. 0

Upon reaching the expansive area of Dragon Martial Arts, he suddenly heard a cacophony of voices erupting; it seemed that hundreds or even thousands of disciples were training within, their shouts echoing through the air. 0

Wang Long walked over slowly until he reached a stern-faced man at the front of a line. He knew this man was one of the three chief instructors under the head of Dragon Martial Arts—a talented warrior from the Zhang Family named Zhang Tailai. 0

"Greetings, Elder! I am Wang Long, a third-generation disciple of the Wang family. I come on behalf of the leader to participate in training at Dragon Martial Arts!" Wang Long greeted him respectfully but confidently. 0

Zhang Tailai turned around; his stern expression remained unchanged as he nodded slightly and said, "Oh, you are Wang Long. Very well... I have heard that you are eighteen years old this year and have already broken through to the Three Dragon Veins level, correct?" 0

"Yes, Elder," Wang Long said to the elder who wished to appear younger. 0

"Since that's the case, you can join the elite team, which I personally lead: Li Xinghe, Liu Chengyan, Jiang Xue! You three, step forward!" Zhang Tailai commanded, and immediately three figures rushed out from the group. 0

Wang Long gazed deeply at Li Xinghe; this person had changed his life. If it weren't for Li Xinghe's determination to fight him to the death at the last moment, he might not have felt so unwilling, which led to his resonance with Dragon Soul and his survival. 0

As for the other two, he had heard of Liu Chengyan as well. He was an absolute elite among the Liu Family's disciples and was rumored to have broken through the Third Dragon Vein. However, he did not participate in the last Dragon Gate Ceremony; otherwise, the title of the top among the younger generation might have fallen to him. 0

But the other one, a girl named Jiang Xue, he had never heard of before. In fact, her name didn't even sound like a real name! 0

The Four Great Guardian Families occupied most of the population in Dragon City; nearly ninety percent of the citizens belonged to the Zhang, Wang, Li, and Liu families, but there were also some other surnames present. 0

However, Jiang Xue clearly did not seem to be her real name; it sounded more like a code name. 0

Wang Long glanced at her and saw that she had an exceptionally beautiful appearance and an ethereal demeanor. However, she naturally wore a cold expression as if the entire world had nothing to do with her. 0

"No real name, only a code name: Cold Appearance. A cold personality. Could she be from Dragon Hidden?! No, training in Dragon Hidden is much stricter; just entering has a threshold that is many times higher than Dragon Martial Arts! If she were from Dragon Hidden, why would she come here? Could it be..." 0

Wang Long suddenly let out a cold laugh as if he began to understand the truth of the matter. However, he did not expose it and merely nodded lightly at a few people as a greeting. 0

Zhang Tailai continued sternly, "This is our new clan member named Wang Long. He has also reached the breakthrough of the Third Dragon Vein at the age of eighteen! From now on, he will become your partner and train with you all while executing missions together!" 0

Li Xinghe had been staring at Wang Long since he first saw him, seemingly unable to believe his eyes. At this moment, after hearing Zhang Tailai's words, he did not show any disrespectful behavior but smiled slightly and said, "Li Xinghe, nice to meet you." 0

Wang Long smiled back and replied, "Naturally." 0

Liu Chengyan, clearly a straightforward person, exclaimed, "So you are Wang Long? The son of the Contemporary Dragon Head? The hero sealed with the Dragon Soul within you? But weren't you supposed to be... Li Xinghe..." 0

Realizing he had been a bit reckless, he scratched his head and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, that's just my personality. My bad, my bad!" 0

Wang Long smiled and replied, "No worries, I've heard of Liu Chengyan's reputation." 0

Liu Chengyan chuckled lightly and didn't continue the conversation. 0

When it was the turn of the young girl, she did not lift her head and calmly said, "Jiang Xue." 0

Liu Chengyan felt a bit awkward and tried to ease the tension by saying, "She's always like this; just get used to it." 0

Jiang Xue shot him a glance that seemed to freeze him in place, causing him to immediately stop talking and refrain from saying anything further. 0

Zhang Tailai nodded and coldly said, "Alright, now that you've introduced yourselves, let's continue with your training! I will teach some things to Wang Long first." 0

The others bowed to Zhang Tailai and greeted Wang Long before rejoining the training group, leaving only Zhang Tailai and Wang Long in the front. 0

Zhang Tailai suddenly spoke up, "I am not one to hide anything. Having you come to Dragon Martial Training and join my team is the Dragon Head's intention. However, if you ask for my personal opinion about you... I really dislike you!" 0
