In fact, if Wang Long had truly heeded the warnings at that moment, he might have met a far worse fate. Among all the traps set by words and psychology, the most sophisticated methods were at play.

Dao Lord Wu Jue summoned his Flying Sword, and waves of icy chill emanated from the blade, filling the entire hall. Although those insects seemed immune to the electric attack for some reason, they had no resistance against this tangible cold water energy. In an instant, the entire hall was covered in frost, and those small insects could no longer fly; they fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.
"Not bad. However, thinking that this can challenge our Demon Clan's dignity is quite naive." The two stone statues opened their mouths again, unleashing a wave of scorching heat that quickly dispelled the icy air.
Of course, those insects could never come back to life.
Wang Long was waiting to see if they had any further moves when the two stone statues suddenly began to move. Wang Long swiftly dodged to the side to avoid their charge. Then from their large mouths came a thick strand of spider silk. The two statues moved continuously, their angles clearly designed so as not to obstruct each other's paths. From within them emerged countless green-glowing Venomous Spiders that looked incredibly sinister.
Dao Lord Wu Jue furrowed his brows and swung his sword upward.
Although Wang Long did not know the level of the treasure Dao Lord Wu Jue was using, he was certain it was not an ordinary item. Coupled with Dao Lord Wu Jue's astonishing strength, it was formidable.
However, despite the swing, the threads remained completely undamaged, still as resilient as ever.
Wang Long's figure flickered as two Venomous Spiders spat out venom, completely corroding a section of the earthen wall behind them.
Now they understood why this hall was designed to be so large—if it were smaller, there wouldn't be enough Venomous Spiders to pose a significant threat to them.
At least for the time being, these Venomous Spiders did not pose too great a danger. Wang Long wielded his sword with incredible speed, slashing down the Venomous Spiders one by one, while ensuring that none of the venom touched him.
Yet even so, more Venomous Spiders continued to pour out from their mouths. They were merely being worn down.
Tonight, while they were not afraid of the Demon Lords, they could not allow that mysterious person to get ahead of them. Moreover, if they did not finish their task quickly, who knew what suspicions might arise in Beast Ancestor's mind after Wang Long had calmed him down.
"Sword Dance!" Wang Long also attempted a few slashes, but like Dao Lord Wu Jue, the resilience of these threads far exceeded their expectations; they could not cut through them at all.
A thought crossed Wang Long's mind as he recalled some techniques he had learned from Demon Skull. He activated Sword Momentum, causing it to tremble and influence the surrounding Spiritual Essence, using this vibrating Spiritual Essence to affect the threads.
The effect was astonishing. It seemed that the methods of the Demon Clan were indeed the nemesis of these formations.
First, the Venomous Spiders could no longer maintain their footing on the threads, and then countless threads began to snap under the powerful tremors. This allowed both of them to expand their range of movement and they started to approach the statues.
Although they had not been engaged for long, they had already gained some understanding of the power of these two statues.
Their strength does not lie in how powerful they are individually, but rather in their myriad of unconventional tricks. Moreover, these tricks should be unleashed from their mouths. As long as they are not given time, even if they manage to spit something out, it should not pose a threat to the two of them.
Dao Lord Wu Jue was the first to act. With a tremor of his Flying Sword, a chill emanated like an ice arrow straight toward its mouth. Meanwhile, Wang Long summoned a Thunder Element Annihilation Sword and unleashed a bolt of lightning aimed at its mouth as well.

What the two did not expect was that Wang Long's lightning was faster than Dao Lord Wu Jue's attack. However, after the lightning entered the statue's mouth, it suddenly erupted from another stone statue's mouth, perfectly colliding with Dao Lord Wu Jue's Icy Chill. The two attacks canceled each other out!

Taking advantage of this moment, the statue moved again, this time producing a series of Savages. After leaping out of the statue's mouth, they immediately began to grow larger, forming countless seemingly indestructible Stone Giants!

On the other hand, Dao Lord Wu Jue had a smoother experience. His sword already carried Icy Chill, and at the moment of contact with the stone, the Icy Chill made those Stone Giants even more brittle. Furthermore, the Icy Chill even froze and slowed down the connection between these Stone Giants and the Stone Demon Statues.
As a result, he could only shatter these Stone Giants if he exerted eight-tenths of his strength.
This was not good news.
If it takes such immense power to deal with any Stone Giant, then by the time they reach the two statues, their strength would surely be exhausted first.

Dao Lord Wu Jue's eyes lit up: "Are you suggesting…"
"I'll hold them off for a bit; you take the chance to strike both Golems at the same time. That might just be the key to turning the tide in our favor."
"But what if we fail? The situation might not be as straightforward as you think."
"Heh, do we even need to ask? The path behind us isn't blocked. Look at the size of these two statues; if they have the ability, let them chase us."
