Ye Chuanze traveled with Fuxi and Nüwa across most of Primordial, gazing into the distance from the lush green plains, overlooking the earth from towering mountains, and standing by the Yellow River, watching this mother river of humanity surge forward with its waves. The fertile land stretched endlessly, famous mountains soared into the clouds, and great rivers roared as they rushed into the sea. Nature was so beautiful and magnificent, stirring the heart profoundly. 0

Ye Chuanze felt as if he had been cleansed; the previous restlessness had settled down, his mind was peaceful, and he felt as if he had been reborn. He was neither sad nor joyful, neither resentful nor hateful, unaffected by glory or disgrace. He sat watching the clouds roll by and observed the blooming and withering of flowers. Ye Chuanze's state of mind was elevated, and the superficiality around him completely vanished, subtly revealing an air of detachment. Fuxi and Nüwa were unaware of Ye Chuanze's inner transformation; they could not perceive the changes in his temperament within the Twelfth-Grade Annihilation Black Lotus but only sensed his cultivation improvement. 0

" Ye Chuanze, you are right. A cultivator should not be confined to a single place for enlightenment but should appropriately venture out to experience the world," Fuxi remarked, noticing his improvement in cultivation. 0

Ye Chuanze replied, "There is no need to rush the improvement of cultivation. We cultivators are favored by heaven and earth; our origins are extraordinary. Even without rigorous training, simply absorbing spiritual energy daily can enhance our cultivation. The improvement in cultivation is merely a matter of time accumulation. However, understanding Dao Law is not something that can be grasped solely through practice; it requires cultivating the heart. Dao Law connects heaven and earth and comprehends the laws of nature. Merely practicing in isolation will ultimately lead one astray, trapping oneself in a narrow realm where one's path cannot progress and one's mind becomes confused." 0

"Well said!" Fuxi nodded in agreement. 0

While traveling through Primordial with Fuxi and Nüwa, Ye Chuanze became familiar with many renowned immortals from later generations. He even accompanied Fuxi and Nüwa to the Witch Clan's tribe, where he enjoyed friendly drinks and conversations with the Twelve Ancestor Witches. Reflecting on the later fierce conflicts between the Lich clans that led to mutual destruction, Ye Chuanze felt a slight pang in his stomach. Who would have thought that the demon race's Great Sage Fuxi and Sage Nüwa once shared drinks with their sworn enemies, the Twelve Ancestor Witches? 0

However, it made sense; at present in Primordial, the dominant forces were the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin from the Three Spirits Clan. The Lich clans were weak and had always maintained a low profile while surviving in this land filled with dangers and opportunities. Unlike their later development into powerful factions vying for dominance, without conflicts of interest, the Lich clans naturally would not become sworn enemies as they did later. 0

Moreover, currently, both Lich clans had a common enemy: the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin from the Three Spirits Clan. 0

At this moment, neither the Three Pure Ones nor Demon Emperor Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Taiyi leading the demon race's Heavenly Palace were at their peak in Primordial; it was instead dominated by the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin from the Three Spirits Clan. 0

The Qilin were naturally gentle and did not commit acts of violence; they were relatively benign. However, the Dragon and Phoenix Clans were fierce by nature and loved to fight; they would engage in battle without a word. Unfortunately for them, these two clans possessed top-tier strength in Primordial; ordinary immortals would have to take detours to avoid them. The Dragon Clan was proud while the Phoenix Clan was no weaker either. This pride left no room for other races; when Dragon and Phoenix Clans met, it would be like thunder striking fire—an all-out brawl until one side fell. 0

Thus began a conflict between Dragon and Phoenix that would last for tens of millions of years. 0

Many immortals in Primordial suffered due to this conflict; among them, especially affected were those from the Witch Clan. Most immortals in Primordial were solitary wanderers; only a few lived together as brothers or sisters—like the Three Pure Ones or Di Jun and Taiyi—or like Fuxi and Nüwa among Primordial’s few siblings living together. Solitary immortals could easily avoid conflicts between Dragon and Phoenix Clans by simply staying hidden in their caves. However, this was not true for the Witch Clan; they lived together as a tribe on earth. They worked during sunrise and rested at sunset while battling beasts for food. Such large groups residing together made it difficult for them to avoid conflicts with Dragon and Phoenix Clans; they often suffered bullying from them. 0

Therefore, if you were to ask members of the Witch Clan who they hated most at this moment, they would tell you without hesitation that it was the Dragon and Phoenix Clans. Currently having no issues with other demon races, on the contrary, they held some sympathy for another race oppressed by Dragon and Phoenix Clans—the Lich clans—sharing a bond forged through hardship as comrades-in-arms! 0

As conflicts between Dragon and Phoenix Clans escalated further, Ye Chuanze decided to return to Buzhou Mountain with Fuxi and Nüwa. It was a sensitive period now; they chose not to linger inland in Primordial to avoid unnecessary entanglements. 0

Ye Chuanze returned to his Valley where a clear blue lake once again bloomed with lotus flowers all around. He began secluding himself to comprehend Dao Law by integrating what he had learned during his travels into his own understanding of Dao Law. 0

During this time, Fuxi and Nüwa visited him several times, mostly to inform him about the happenings in the outside world, telling him that the battle between the Dragon and Phoenix was fierce, that the Qilin Clan had been caught in the battlefield midway, and then suddenly declared a ceasefire, announcing their retreat from matters concerning the Primordial. 0

The Primordial knows no years, and before he knew it, many years had passed. 0

On this day, the once peaceful Primeval Continent suddenly erupted with earth-shattering sounds. 0

In a lake within the Valley, Ye Chuanze, who was meditating with closed eyes, was startled awake. 0

He saw that the originally clear blue sky had suddenly darkened, with the sun hidden behind clouds. A chilling wind swept through, stirring up yellow sand and dust. Heart-wrenching cries echoed throughout the Primordial, causing sorrow to those who heard them. In the east, waves of blood mist rose, staining half the sky red. Vaguely visible was a blood-drenched giant dragon thrashing above the clouds. Faintly audible were the mournful cries of the Phoenix Clan as they spread their wings. 0

Ye Chuanze glanced towards the east, where the territories of the Dragon and Phoenix Clans lay, then lowered his gaze and sighed quietly. The battle between Dragon and Phoenix had come to an end; the outcome... was likely mutual destruction and annihilation of their clans. 0

Only with the annihilation of the Dragon and Phoenix Clans would heaven and earth mourn and change color. This race, cherished by heaven and earth, ultimately could not escape the shackles of fate. It truly is lamentable and fearful! 0

The Three Spirits Clan—Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin—were too powerful and dominant, subtly suppressing other races in the Primordial. This monopolistic situation disrupted the balance of the Primordial; to avoid being overshadowed by the Three Spirits Clan's might, other immortals in the Primordial retreated into seclusion. Such a scenario was detrimental to the prosperity and development of other races in the Primordial. The newly born Primordial emphasized flourishing life and diverse voices. The overwhelming strength of the Three Spirits Clan hindered the growth of other Sentient Beings' races in the Primordial. Thus, they were feared by fate; ultimately, what fate maintains is balance. Once balance is broken, what follows is a great calamity that causes heaven and earth to change color and mourn. 0

This calamity is known as the Dragon and Phoenix Calamity, marking the first great disaster of heaven and earth after The Cataclysm of the Divine Demons of Creation. 0

It is said that the Qilin Clan possesses prophetic abilities; now it seems that these rumors are true. The Qilin Clan quietly withdrew from the battlefield of Dragon and Phoenix midway, likely having foreseen today's outcome. Ye Chuanze pondered; it seemed he would need to visit the Qilin Clan again in the future. He always felt that Rahul's death was not so simple. He had a premonition that his relationship with Rahul would not end so easily. 0

Ye Chuanze opened his eyes from his meditation to see Fuxi standing tall in white robes, gazing at him with a faint look of concern on his face. 0

Seeing this, Ye Chuanze couldn't help but ask, "Did you have a fight with Nüwa? Or did she kick you out of her room?" 0

Fuxi shook his head at this question and remained silent. 0

After waiting for a long time without hearing Fuxi speak, Ye Chuanze felt helpless and sighed, "Big brother, if you have something on your mind, just say it. How can I know what troubles you if you don’t tell me? If I don’t know what’s bothering you, how can I comfort or help you?" 0

After a while, Fuxi finally spoke in a calm tone: "In this calamity between Dragon and Phoenix, both clans may perish; perhaps one or two survivors will remain. But there will be no more scenes of dominance from the Three Spirits Clan as in days past; with Qilin Clan in seclusion, no one knows where they are now. Perhaps ten thousand years later someone will question whether Qilin Clan truly exists. And for those already annihilated—will anyone remember how invincible Dragon and Phoenix Clans once were?" 0
So that's the reason... 0

After a pause, Fuxi continued, "The Dragon and Phoenix Clans are so powerful, dominating the Primordial realm with few rivals, yet they ended up in such a fate. I can't help but wonder, how far can we go on this arduous and lengthy path of cultivation and enlightenment? What is immortality, and what is the way?" 0

"Fuxi!" Ye Chuanze said coldly, "Since your transformation into a being of gold immortal level, you have cultivated for countless eons, yet you ask such a question. Don't you feel ashamed?" 0

"What is immortality? You are immortality! What is the way? What you cultivate is the way! The Great Dao has fifty branches; heaven's transformation has forty-nine, leaving one to escape. All the myriad Dao Laws in the world ultimately lead to the same destination. A great tree sends forth countless branches; although these branches may grow in different directions, fundamentally, they all grow from the same tree." Ye Chuanze said, "Leaves may fall, branches may wither; if one does not walk the right path and strays from the way, it will ultimately lead to downfall, resulting in death and the disappearance of the way." 0

"The Dragon and Phoenix Clans did not cultivate Karma, recklessly committing acts of slaughter; heaven's law cannot tolerate this! Thus, they faced great calamity. The ultimate extermination of the Dragon and Phoenix Clans was merely self-inflicted. Look at the Qilin Clan; although they participated in the conflicts between the Dragon and Phoenix Clans, they chose to withdraw bravely. The Qilin Clan suffered significant losses but ultimately did not harm their roots, allowing their lineage to continue." Ye Chuanze paused before continuing, "We cultivators cultivate the Primordial Spirit, understand destiny, and value Karma. Our actions are always cautious; we do not recklessly create slaughter, and without Karma entangling us, we naturally have nothing to fear." 0

"Fuxi!" Ye Chuanze exclaimed loudly, "Do you understand? The path of cultivation is as elusive as a mirage at sea, attracting countless immortals who rush towards it. It is fraught with dangers yet filled with opportunities. Only those with great determination and steadfast hearts can succeed. If there are doubts in your heart and your resolve wavers, you will ultimately falter along the way." 0

Ye Chuanze's words struck Fuxi like a thunderclap, awakening him from his confusion. It was as if a clear light had illuminated his mind; the dust that had settled on Fuxi's heart for days was swept away. His understanding became clear, his realm elevated, and his cultivation progressed. 0

Fuxi slightly bowed to Ye Chuanze and expressed his gratitude: "Thank you for your guidance, my friend. Fuxi is deeply grateful." 0

Inside the Twelfth-Grade Annihilation Black Lotus, Ye Chuanze's soul smiled faintly. He hadn't expected that the calamity of the Dragon and Phoenix would lead Fuxi to such profound realizations. One could say he is destined to be one of the future Three Sovereigns; his wisdom is truly admirable! Ye Chuanze believed that his words today merely accelerated Fuxi's enlightenment; given Fuxi's innate talent, he would have eventually seen through these confusions. 0

This conversation forged a deep friendship between Fuxi and Ye Chuanze, but that was a matter for later. 0
