Ye Chuanze settled in the Purple Cloud Palace, spending each day with Hongjun, brewing wine and admiring flowers, discussing teachings, casually playing chess, and observing the rise and fall of the sun and moon. The two lived leisurely, indifferent to the raging floods outside. The Lower Realm was embroiled in fierce battles among the Lich Clans, various forces were stirring, tensions were high, and war spread, affecting Sentient Beings. None of this concerned the two; one was unwilling to intervene, and the other was unable. Thus, they enjoyed their carefree days within the supreme palace of the Thirty-Three Heavens. 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi visited Yunze Cave multiple times but was repeatedly turned away by a young attendant. 0

"Your Highness Eastern Emperor, please return. The Real Person is not in the Cave; he has gone traveling," said the young attendant. 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi sighed and asked, "When will your Real Person return?" 0

"The Real Person said his return date is uncertain." 0

"Do you know where your Real Person has gone traveling?" Eastern Emperor Taiyi asked again. 0

"The Real Person mentioned he would visit the Purple Cloud Palace to pay respects to Dao Ancestor." 0

Upon hearing this, Eastern Emperor Taiyi furrowed his brow in thought, his expression one of helplessness. At this critical juncture of the Lich War, Ye Chuanze had gone to the Purple Cloud Palace and had not returned; this could not help but concern him. Was this his own decision or that of Dao Ancestor? 0

After pondering for a long time, Eastern Emperor Taiyi ultimately decided to visit Fuxi. Among the two war gods of the demon clan, aside from Ye Chuanze, Fuxi was the other. If he could persuade Fuxi to come out and lead the demon clan in battle, it would greatly benefit the current situation. 0

"Please inform that Eastern Emperor Taiyi has come to visit Daoist friend Fuxi," Eastern Emperor Taiyi said to the Gatekeeper Boy at the entrance of the Cave. 0

The boy replied, "Please wait a moment," and hurried inside to deliver the message. 0

After a short while, the boy returned. "The Real Person requests you to follow me; this way please." 0

They passed through a corridor and walked through a bamboo grove. Suddenly, the light brightened, and before them appeared a pavilion built by the water. Fuxi was sitting inside the pavilion, delicately savoring tea from a cup. 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi walked in, and Fuxi turned to look at him, lightly smiling as he said, "What a rare guest. The Eastern Emperor has come to visit, and I have no fine wine to offer, only this humble tea." With that, he poured a cup of tea for him. 0

Fuxi's fingers were long and slender, pale and well-defined, truly resembling jade. His white fingers held a jade-green teapot, and as the tea poured from the spout into the cup, his movements were slow and graceful, as beautiful as a painting. 0

Unfortunately, the person before him had no mind to appreciate the scenery. The usually gentle and elegant Eastern Emperor Taiyi had an unusual lack of smile on his face, his brows slightly furrowed. "I have come today to trouble you, Fuxi. Taiyi has something to request." 0

As the cup filled, Fuxi placed the teapot back in its original position and said, "I have an idea of your intentions, Eastern Emperor. However," he paused to take a sip of tea before continuing, "you should return. My stance has already been made clear a few days ago." 0

Hearing this, Eastern Emperor Taiyi's frown deepened as he said in a low voice, "The demon clan is in danger now; the situation is tense. As a member of the demon clan, how can you hide away in your cave?" 0

"Oh? The demon clan is in danger?" Fuxi looked up at him and spoke slowly, "Eastern Emperor, do tell me if the demon clan is truly in peril." 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi was momentarily speechless. 0

"Indeed, as such," Fuxi continued, "as a member of the demon clan, you should not be indifferent to its affairs at this moment." 0

Fuxi set down his teacup and looked at him. "If the demon clan were truly in trouble, I would certainly not stand by idly. However, given the current situation and how the demon clan has fallen into such circumstances, no one knows better than you and Demon Emperor Di Jun. My reluctance to act stems from my belief that there is no necessity to do so." 0

"The demon clan has never been a tool for any individual or faction to fulfill their own desires, whether those desires are born from good intentions or malice. The demon clan has countless citizens among them; some are powerful and warlike with great ambitions, but many more are simply ordinary demons yearning for survival. I hope that you and Demon Emperor Di Jun can understand this—think twice before acting and do not forget the Dragon and Phoenix Tribulation from ten thousand years ago," Fuxi said. 0

Upon hearing this, Eastern Emperor Taiyi's expression changed. He could not deny that mention of the Dragon and Phoenix Tribulation struck a chord within him. After a moment of silence, he regained his composure and said, "I will relay your words to my brother. I apologize for intruding today; Taiyi takes his leave!" With that, he hurriedly departed, feeling unsettled and no longer inclined to linger with Fuxi. 0

Returning to the Heavenly Palace in the Thirty-Three Heavens, Eastern Emperor Taiyi recounted Fuxi's words to Demon Emperor Di Jun. Di Jun listened thoughtfully. After a while, he said, "Fuxi's words are not without merit." 0

"What does brother mean...?" Eastern Emperor Taiyi asked. 0

"Although Fuxi's words have some merit, I do not agree with him. He is too cautious and sticks to the rules, which prevents him from achieving great things," said Demon Emperor Di Jun. "If it were Ye Chuanze, he would never say such things; that guy is... someone who fears nothing in this world." 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi fell silent upon hearing this. He was unaware that his elder brother held Ye Chuanze in such high regard; he had thought that Di Jun despised that man. 0

Di Jun glanced at his expression and understood his thoughts. He smiled and said, "I do indeed dislike that man, but even I must admit that he is a formidable character." 0

During the first Lich War, Ye Chuanze and Fuxi fought for the demon race. They were truly undefeated on the battlefield, exuding an air of confidence and killing intent that struck fear into their enemies. They earned the title of War Gods of the demon race, commanding great respect among their kin. No one in the demon race could resist following them into battle, as it was in their nature to revere the strong; their bloodline flowed with an innate submission to power. 0

A clan cannot have two emperors; one cannot allow others to sleep soundly on their own bed. The greater Ye Chuanze and Fuxi's abilities became, the more they were respected within the demon race, which made Demon Emperor Di Jun wary of them. This was also why, after the war ended, Di Jun was eager for Eastern Emperor Taiyi to take command of the military power they held. A common flaw among rulers is suspicion. 0

Fuxi was naturally calm and indifferent to fame and fortune, embodying a sense of detachment from worldly affairs. Di Jun felt relatively at ease with him; his greatest concern was Ye Chuanze. Ye Chuanze was an enigma to him; no matter how elegant and harmless he appeared on the surface, Di Jun could see at a glance that he was an extremely dangerous man. He acted flamboyantly and recklessly, like a beast driven solely by instinct and feeling. His gaze always carried a hint of mockery, as if he looked down on everything in this world. There was also an undeniable aura of malice and murderous intent emanating from him; he was a ruthless man who would not hesitate to kill. 0

From the very beginning, Di Jun disliked this man because his gaze made him feel exposed; that mocking and disdainful look seemed to see right through him. This displeased Di Jun; he did not like this self-righteous man. Indeed, self-righteousness was how Di Jun viewed him. No matter how powerful or deep-minded Ye Chuanze was, Di Jun's assessment of him remained one of arrogance. 0

Believing he saw through everything allowed him to regard all things in this world with such a scornful gaze. His extreme self-centeredness, arrogance, and capriciousness showed no regard for those around him. Whether it was his close friend Fuxi or the supreme Dao Ancestor, he never considered their feelings. He acted solely based on his own likes and dislikes, unbound by anything. 0

Yet it was precisely this arrogant and willful nature that attracted people to him, earning their genuine affection. Speaking of this, Di Jun felt some sympathy for those gathered around this man—whether it be Fuxi, Dao Ancestor, the proud Nuwa Sage, or the Kunlun Three Pure Ones. Having such a willful and troublesome friend or disciple must have caused them no small amount of distress! Well then, Di Jun admitted he found some schadenfreude in this! 0

However, it was precisely these traits that drew people to him! His unabashed arrogance, capriciousness, and self-centeredness—acting solely based on his own feelings—could be seen as straightforwardness and authenticity from another perspective. Since sentient beings gained consciousness at the moment of enlightenment, this world has been filled with lies, sins, falsehoods, betrayal, and deception. What is most lacking in this world is authenticity. Truth is always obscured by layers of lies and deceit, making it difficult to discern whether something is genuine or feigned. 0

Everyone gathered around this man were undoubtedly strong individuals themselves. None were pushovers; even Fuxi, who seemed easygoing at first glance, was someone who never hesitated to strike when necessary—evident from his title as War God of the demon race. These powerful figures gathered around Ye Chuanze out of genuine friendship; there was only one reason for this: Ye Chuanze is a real person who reciprocates sincerity without pretense. 0

If one had to point out a virtue of Ye Chuanze beyond his good looks, it would be his authenticity. Those who know Ye Chuanze cannot deny this fact. He is someone suitable for friendship—a point Di Jun also acknowledges. A good person? Nonsense! Who dares speak such nonsense! 0

Regardless of how sincere Ye Chuanze may be towards others or how many praise him in his ear, Di Jun does not like him! The reason likely stems from long ago when they first met; it was Ye Chuanze's gaze that seemed to believe he saw through everything about Di Jun. That gaze displeased Di Jun; no one wishes to be seen through completely by another person. Moreover, Di Jun has never believed that Ye Chuanze truly understood who he was—how could anyone conclude they saw through someone else when even he himself could not assess whether he was good or bad? It is absurd for someone who merely glanced at him to claim they understood him! 0

Some people can decide whether they like or dislike someone at first sight, and Di Jun felt this way about Ye Chuanze. He probably would never be able to like this man, no matter what happened. 0

"If possible, I really wouldn't want to be enemies with someone like him," Di Jun said with a sigh. 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi glanced at his brother's expression and saw that he didn't seem to be in a bad mood, so he asked with relief, "Then what do you think we should do next?" 0

"Let's temporarily cease hostilities!" Di Jun replied. 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi frowned in confusion and said, "Why the sudden truce? The demon race is not at a disadvantage right now." 0

"Nor are we at an advantage," Di Jun added. "Currently, the situation between the Lich Clans is at a stalemate; neither side can gain the upper hand. At this point, we can only wait to see which side breaks the deadlock first. Neither of us wants the Witch Clan to break it, and our hope for breaking the deadlock lies solely with Ye Chuanze and Fuxi. Both have expressed their unwillingness to take action, so our demon race cannot break the stalemate. Given this, we cannot allow the Witch Clan to do so; for now, we must cease hostilities." 0

"Moreover... Fuxi's words make me uneasy," Di Jun continued. The Dragon and Phoenix Tribulation from ten thousand years ago led to the annihilation of both clans; it was a lesson that could not be forgotten. No matter what, Di Jun was unwilling to repeat the mistakes of the Dragon and Phoenix clans. 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi fell silent upon hearing this; Di Jun's thoughts mirrored his own. After a while, he finally spoke up, "I don't know what's going on, but Fuxi's attitude this time is unexpectedly resolute, leaving no room for negotiation." 0

Di Jun smiled upon hearing this and said, "Perhaps someone has told him something!" 0

Eastern Emperor Taiyi looked at his brother with a questioning expression. Di Jun explained, "With that man's personality, if he had a reason not to fight, he would certainly remind his old battlefield comrades." 0

"It seems that Fuxi must have promised that person something," Di Jun speculated. 0
